The Voyage of 'The Madness Of Hades' was punctuated en route to St Jaque by some terbulent weather, a few near misses with a couple of Elven naval vessals and a large flock of seagulls, the last event gave the deckhands a real work out as the Hades needed to be in fine form before her arrival at the pirate port.
St Jaque was ledgendary, a pirate island awash with bar's, fights, taverns, bar's more bar's, shanty housing, disreputable inn's, bar's, thugs, pick pockets, entertainers that couldn't get a gig anywhere else, and a stench that would knock the undies off a saint quicker than you could snap your fingers.
An Island hunted for by the Navy and curious fools alike, known to any who have been there, and none who have not and protected by magic so secret that the caster himself forgot what spell he used, and pretty soon after that was forgotten himself. No good remembering a guy if he can't undo the spells again really...?
Anyway, back to the point, the island has some okay areas, around the edges it doesnt smell too vile, but, as itss a rather small island as far as islands go, about an hours walk from one end to the other in any direction, it gets a little stuffy in the heat of summer, but all in all it makes for a pretty good pirate prot, no trade laws, people who will buy and sell almost anything, no matter how dubious, a great place to lose yourself really..
So, with the warmth of the midday sun shining down on their decks, in a thankfully otherwise wintery season, 'The Madness of Hades' made port on the lawless isle of St Jaque...

Caspian was quick to remove himself from the ship, there was much to be done at the port for him, he needed to speak with a man about a map, and a woman about some fresh ground coffee, and then he needed to find Toby's mother and ask what she was about letting his simple, yet cheerful sone roam around as she had. He needed to see a man about a fine bottle of rum he had won here before in a game of chance, and to that end he was able to easilly convince Alec the Navigator to go with him. Jareth on the other hand had been harder to convince but the Pirate King had dragged him along anyway for funsies. Hell knew the Goblin King needed cheering up.
It was shaping up to be a mighty fine day it seemed!

Raguel was also quick to get off the ship. That last attack of sea gulls had really given him a lot to do. He was headed straight to his favorite bar for a fight and some fun with his favorite wench.

Jonik had taken stock of everything in the ship. And then had glanced at the ship's accounts....It didn't look good.
Truth be told, the ship could barely support the bare basics of a crew, let alone a "mother" and a baby as well. Not to mention the amount of food and beer that had mysteriously gone missing. Raguel had suspected stowaways, others had suggested ghosts but he knew better. Ghosts didn't eat.
He had worked a small mathmatical mireacle in rejigging the budget so that the captain's betrothed and his new child could join them, even when he discovered that Unigons really didn't eat hay and grass like he had initially guessed. Of course it mean downgrading on food quality and buying the most watered down rum he could find. He wouldn't have minded if Macy had pulled his weight a little, but he hadn't, and so every weevil he found had left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Still unless their destination had fields of fresh food and a whiskey spring they could barely afford enough food to get there and back. Unless...
He had only gambled with the ship's money once before, and he would be damned if he was going to tell anyone. And this wasn't the first time he had considered leaving the ship and turning professional. He carefully calculated the odds in his mind. This was St Jaques, stinking cesspit of the world, and renound card shark breeding ground. Which meant there would be high steaks. It also meant the other card and dice players would be nearer his level of expertise than anywhere else so the risk was higher. This was no lady's lounge in the Goblin King's court where he could fool the noblewomen with his youth. And so the young quartermaster found himself sneaking off the ship, with the captain's remaining gold in his hand, searching for nearest game.

Darius leaned against the rail of the Madness of Hades and stared at the town. It felt good to be back at port again after being away at sea for even that short of a time. With his Captain and the Goblin king gone he was free to do as he pleased. The only thing left to do before he left for shore was to check on Macy to find out if there was anything thing he needed. He wasn’t sure where Macy was though and was hesitant to go searching for him because he was afraid of what mood he might find him in and so he just stayed where he was until Aramis tugged on his arm. “Come on, there’s a whole city waiting to be explored again and you’re just sitting here.” Aramis informed Darius as he dragged him off of the ship. “But don’t you have anything to finish on the ship?” Darius teased Aramis knowing full well that the ship’s cat had hurried to finish anything he needed to get done as soon as they sighted land. Aramis had gotten bored quickly after the seagulls had gone away and he no longer had anyone to hunt or at least anyone he wouldn’t get in trouble for pouncing on and while he loved being on the ship he didn’t like that they were always surrounded by water. Aramis continued to tug Darius and the cabin boy knew better to ask where they were going. Even if he had gotten lost shortly after the third bend in the street he knew his best friend would have no problem finding the way back to the docks.

Macy was in a rare good mood, having gone through a few days of thinking he had come to the conclusion that distancing himself emotionally from everyone might just work. He wanted to get off of the ship for a few hours but with the port being so....well lawless, he was hesitant. Hesitant because he guessed that if he was getting off, he knew he wouldn't be coming back on again. It was a depressing thought, but as it was he didn't feel....welcome anymore. Macy wasn't used to doing things on his own and his mother had promised to help him back home if he ever hit trouble. Well....your relationship hitting a damning realisation was trouble enough wasn't it?
Hell, he wasn't even sure if running away would solve a damn thing, all this conclusion had come from inside his own head after all.
"Look Esti~ see the doggy?" Merethist cooed to the baby he was holding, standing on the deck and looking down into the port. Bailey was napping next to him, propped up against the side of the deck while purring away happily. Estelle giggled in glee as she watched the stray dart through the small crowds in the port happily taking in this strange, lawless place.
