Hey guys. Have you ever noticed in some manga/anime/doujin that you can find loli? Well, of course you have. ^___^ Also, have you noticed that everyone likes posting pictures here. Well, here is something fun, why don't we post our favorite drawn lolita pictures! blaugh Here is a few of mine:

This is a drawing by Tukiji Nao. A new artist that I have fallen for. I found this in one of the collections and I instantly saw this cute loli style. My best friend wants to make this dress for me. XD

You can never go wrong with CLAMP. The outfits they make for their characters are amazing. Especially when they put Sakura in some loli outfits. She can wear them very well. ^_^ Don't you think so?

I'm sure I have many others somewhere on my computer. I may post more later, but let's see what everyone else has first. ^__^

Well er... yeah clamp considering how they started (by doing doujins and not the good kinds too lol) its only predictable they'd do stuff like that.

Still not ALL of it is ero ^^lll its just cute... but not lolita ^^llll

Its not as acceptable due to the length of the skirt, but lets just hope that if she stands up it will go down to her knees but i just love the shoes and the headdress she has <3

To some this may not seem lolita, but im sure it might be considered EGL or aristocrat lolita for the older lolis out there who like hte more mature look rather than the every popular sweet lolita.
BTW I found those shoes! AT NORDSTROM, I stared, adored, and looked for the price, then died XP (seriously too expensive for such shoes). Best to look at vintage shops for them XP

The photos are from a sleep over shoot that the Singapore lolitas held. The girls who participated do all wear lolita regularly and actually are seen quite often on Daily Lolita. (:

They're all gorgeous and very sweet girls.

Also, about the issue you mentioned with short skirts and the things everyone else has said about CLAMP, etc.:

Lolita in art, like anything in art, is not always portrayed perfectly to the letter. This is okay, to be honest, because it's an interpretation and a form of expression, rather than a living example. It's only not okay if you're modeling your own clothes to look just like those drawings, because it's honestly just not practical in the same way that modeling an outfit after a Kana photoshoot is not practical.

Art and life imitate and reflect upon one another, but are not always interchangeable. So. I think that portraying lolita, as art, with a slightly shorter skirt or different accessories from the norm is perfectly fine. Wearing it is a bit fuzzier, since it goes away from lolita into the realm of lolita-inspired, which in art is the norm.

Does that make sense at all? ^^;

Well its art, but from what i hear, lolita fashion has strict guidelines or at least thats what many of these guild members are portraying when it comes to debatable threads.

Im always up for innovating, being an artist and an animation major and all. Art is art. I think though, in reference to Clamp, some of the stuff does look a bit pervy. I mean take chobits for example. Then again, it is a very provocative anime to begin with ha ha ha.

Okay, now im not making sense XP
And wait the pictures are you refering to my signature pic O.o
ha ha ha im not dressing lolita sorry. Thats just how i normally dress ^^llll

Nono. I wasn't referring to your signature at all, actually I meant, rather, just in the general sense that wearing something you've drawn isn't always entirely practical, nor does it always follow the rules of lolita. ^^;
