It was the first time Betina had fled from the clutches of her family, and a part of her was both nervous and excited. She felt comforted knowing that her family was always by her side, but she was also afraid, since she had never wandered around before! The land in front of her was so big and new to her, and the little filly decided to trot forward, since the land was now open ground to play!
It was still chilly outside, but the filly was preoccupied with the many details that were clinging around her. Snow was sitting comfortably on trees and branches, and the ground was all muddy and brown from the frozen temperatures. Betina was warned to be careful of ice, since the winter season was still among the land. So as the foal moved through the forest, she was careful to watch each footstep she took, and she was also careful to keep an eye out for what was around her!
At the moment it seemed as if she was alone, but who knew if that could change!

Liebe looked back at her sleeping mother fondly. She felt rather horrible for leaving her loving mother white she slept, but come on, Liebe was a young foal, freshly hatched from her constricting basket, and she needed to stretch her long, gangly legs.
Stepping from the cave, Liebe felt a strong wave of doubt wash over her, chilling her to the bone in the freezing weather. She longed to see her father and brother, to be with the three other members of her immediate family, but something about today seemed more adventurous and wild than that.
She delicately sidestepped around a thin sheet of ice on the ground, picking her steps carefully in fear of slipping. Her ever-careful mother had always warned her about slipping in the ice and injuring herself.
She peeked around a thick tree and fluttered her wings excitedly upon seeing another foal. Her mother's words echoed in her mind, the ones about not talking to strangers, so she hung back... a little.
"Hi!" she exclaimed, ducking back behind the tree. Her voice hadn't retained the dreamy quality that her mother's had, but it was still soft and smooth.

The other foal's voice completely shocked Betina, and she almost fell over from the sight of the gal! "He-hello.." she quickly responded, before lowering her head in an embarrassed glee. The other filly had wings just like her brothers, and Betina was very amused by that fact! "My papa and brother have those wings.. how very cool!" The filly's coloring was also much different from hers, and it was a unique shade that she enjoyed staring at!
Betina then altered her position, and moved herself comfortably in front of the other female. She was calm now, and was happy if anything from the filly's appearance. She had no idea someone else was so close, and she would have to work on her listening skills! "What's your name? Mine's Betina." she then said, while doing a curtsy with her body.
Her parents had taught her to treat others with uttermost respect, and she would work hard to be kind to this filly as well! She looked as nice as she sounded, and Betina hoped that she could have fun with someone outside of her family. That was something she had never done before, so the filly was focused on being positive through the experience!

Liebe sucked in her breath. Her name had always amused her, something of a family joke, but it took so long to say. "I'm AF Goldenes Herz, but everyone calls me Liebe," she said in a single breath, the words almost fusing together. "It's nice to meet you, Betina." Her wings pumped excitedly, betraying her excited interior. How, how excited she was to meet another filly!
"You say your brother and father have wings like mine?" she asked slowly. "Why do you only have the markings, then?" She quirked her head to the side and took a tentative step towards the rose-colored filly, sniffing at the air with a great sense of ease. She was foolish for being so trusting right away, but it wasn't as though this filly was a Kalona like her mother had warned her about; she was a regular filly just like Liebe, and that was comforting.

"Oh well you see, my momma has painted on wings, so my sister and I also have them as well. She doesn't have the same wings as my dad and brother." Betina nodded happily from her truthful words, before swishing her tail excitedly. "So do you have any siblings?" Betina was a bit confused by the other filly's name, and she wasn't sure if she was allowed to ask about it. "Um, why is your name so long? It is pretty, I just have never head one like that." Betina then lowered her head in an embarrassed glee, before shaking her mane.
It would be exciting to hear who the other filly was, and what her family history was like. Betina was very interested to learn everything that she could, since she was slowly trying to become more social outside of her own family. "I also have family on my dad's and mother's sides of the family.. I come from a biiig family, some with wings, and some without. Do you enjoy family? I looove my family!" Betina then bounced up and down while thinking about the many adults she still had to meet!

Liebe nodded, trying to pretend that she knew what the other filly was talking about when she mentioned the "painted on wings."
"I have a brother," she said dreamily. "He looks just like Daddy, he's my only brother." She tried to remember his name, but came up with a big blank. How could she forget her one and only brother's name?
"My mom named me," she continued. "Her name is just as long as mine, but mine isn't in the language that most others speak." She wrinkled her nose a little. "All I remember is that 'Liebe' means love or something."
She shrugged, answering Betina's questions like a pro. "The only others I've met are my mom, daddy, and brother. Oh, and my mom's friend Will too. Will is pretty nice, I guess. He has twolegger clothes too!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide.

"Twolegger clothes?!" Tina widened her eyes while wondering what the heck that was! "What is that? I don't think I have seen that or heard of it before..." The filly then giggled to herself, since the word even sounded mysterious. She obviously had a lot more to learn!
"Aw, well that is nice that your mom named you. And you are stuck with a stinky brother too? My brother can be really weird, he is so quiet and uncomfortable sometimes. My sister Rosa and I get very confused, and we always think he is mad at us." Tina then shrugged, before realizing her brother was just different or something.
"Isn't it fun, knowing that there are lots of others who know who you are and stuff? I love meeting new faces, that's why I like to wander around with my daddy and meet all kinds of mares and stallions." She was daddy and mommy's little angel, afterall! "You are the first other filly I have met besides my sister, so that's why I was so surprised to see you at first! I seem to only meet adults, which can be boring.." The filly then giggled lightly before shaking her behind excitedly.
