Playdate RP for Frac/Starry and Japi. Whoo chaos!
This was difficult...or at least for the adults it was probably more so. Kids were so quick to aclimate and adapt to things...but in this case even their kids still needed help. Daylight hours, just weren't for vampires...even their sub-branch of them that could stand the sunlight. Bleck feeling of fatigue. But that was nothing that two specially designed pills per adult didn't fix, or a teaspoon of same thing in liquid form for children. Which is what was mixed into their kids sippy cups for this trip. That being?
A jaunt to the local park...during the day. Sam and Xearus had come to certain conclusions after all. Children had to go to school, school was during the day mostly. Besides, not many other children were ever soley noctournal. So here we were...adapting. Or more pointedly letting the toddlers play while he and his wife tried to work out some sort of schedule that was going to work. Dayshifts were going to have to be split between them...or maybe a babysitter would work too. Had plenty of family for that.
Brushing the sand off her hands she pulled on her brother and got him up as well, toddling to the bucket of water they had and getting him to help her pick it up. "Gots fill moe." Or rather the moat...they had been building a castle in the sandbox which yes included a moat. She was having fun personally, playing out in the sun in overalls and little sneakers, hair in an awkward half pony tail.

Sitting on a park bench in the middle of the afternoon and keeping a rather close eye on her two playing children, she merely adjusted her sunglasses and squinted at the ball of fire. "I don't remember it being this brutal..." Glancing down at the notebook they had opened between them, she tapped the pencil against her lips. "You've already signed up for your courses but you had another added. Which means that once they start school I'll be getting them off after I come home. That will give us a few hours to sleep while they're in school and they'll take a nap and you can eat dinner with them before you go to school. I suppose your mother could come and stay with them...they'd be asleep for the majority of it then wouldn't they?"
He got up and toddled after his sister, helping her lift the plastic bucket and carry it back though they both splashed water over his jeans and her overalls. He plopped back down on his bottom and immediately began reshaping sand with his hands. It was just like his Legos and big colorful blocks except sand was squishy and could do anything he wanted it to. "Slow."

While Lithanus was out working on finding a job, Japi decided it would be best to do her part. If they were doing this for the kids, they may as well do it right. Japi's demeanor brightened when she saw there was another couple there with twins of their own. She wondered at the coincidence of it, but decided to just thank the stars for the opportunity.
She took Lilly and Addy, who were walking on their own at this point, without insisting on being carried, and directed them toward the sandbox. "You two go make friends," she said, before leaving them there.
Lilly held her blanket close to her and eyed the other two children. After a moment, she sat on the ground right outside of the sandbox and started running her fingers along the grass. It wasn't that she was afraid of them, they just looked so intent on their task, that she didn't want to be a bother.
Addy on the other hand, had a different opinion of bothering people. Having been privy to other's thoughts made her a little less concerned about personal space, so she walked right up to them. "Hi!" It was her only introduction before she plopped down in the sand next to them.
Japi stood closeby, watching them for a moment, and when Addy 'introduced herself' she decided it was about time she did as well.
She walked up next to the bench where the parents were seated. "Lovely day, isn't it?" Japi said. She always had a habit for the most ironic statements, without ever knowing it.

He adjusted his shades lightly. "Little cloud cover in the sky at all today is all." brushing a hand through her hair and giving a sigh as they were trying to figure things out. "I have to take what the univesity gives me, even if I submit what I want I have to take it what they're willing to pass out." Studying the written down schedule. "Yeah, we'd sleep during the time they're at school and they's sleep while we're at work. Ma wouldn't mind watching them, you know she enjoys it. And she's free. Either her or hiring a stay at night nanny." Which wasn't too appealing, but his attention turned to the sandbox where the children were playing as new little voices entered. "Look at that," Head turning then to the more adult voice that was attempting to strike up conversation...must be the little ones' mother. "Yes it rather is. No rain and such." Less than lovely for them really...they perferred night after all. But had to be polite.
Nodding to her brother and letting him help they slowly filled the moat with water that wasn't too much but enough to make them happy about it. Big green eyes turned up to the other two toddlers who had come over, one sitting in the grass and the other plopping in their sand. Being Lici of course, she wasn't too put off by any of this. They were their size and everything! It was exciting! "Hi! We making catles!" Picking up a shovel and holding it out. "Want help?" Overlord of the sandbox developing maybe.

Chewing on her lip, she glanced down at the schedule to make sure everything was penciled in neatly then glanced up at him and shook her head. The last thing she wanted was to hire someone to do her job for her. It was bad enough that Mama Calder was going to have to come in and watch them but Sam felt much better with the children's paternal grandmother around than some paid employee. Unfortunately, it was one of the downsides of being a vampire in a human world. "I'll call her when we go back home then. She'll be delighted." Mom sensors went off and she glanced up and noted the two little girls and her own children's invitation to play. Wonderful. Giving the mother a smile, she nodded. "I'm glad to see more children. An empty park is so depressing."
It never occurred to Thobias to question where they'd come from or who they were but he gave a little wave and pushed the pail over towards the one girl with a shy smile that just showed the tips of his little fangs. "Sissy play?"

Japi nodded and looked out across the playground. It wasn't all that big, but it was perfect for exactly this. She frowned a bit when she noticed Lilly was still sitting outside the sandbox. She fought the urge to walk over and fix that problem, but she knew it wouldn't be right to force Lilly to be social.
"Okay," Addy said and "I never made one a'fore." She had no reason to fear the fangs she saw so she just started shoveling sand in the bucket with her hands. She was still careful to keep enough of a distance from the two so that their thoughts didn't filter into her own.
Lilly looked at her sister playing with the two others and scooted closer to the edge of the sandbox and watched closely.
Addy's connection with her sister much stronger than with other people, so the distance between them could be much greater and Addy would still be able to hear her sister's thoughts. And right now Lilly was wanting to join in the fun.
Addy turned and gave her sister a stare. Come here.
Lilly got up and stepped into the sandbox, still clinging to her blanket. She stood nervously a moment but then sat close to her sister.
Addy just left her to whatever she wanted to do at this point, and continued helping fill the bucket with sand.
Relieved that Lilly was making progress on her own, Japi decided to sit. The bench wasn't exactly full with the other two, but Japi sat on the grass nearby. It was soft and perfectly comfortable. She reached into her sleeve and pulled out a sketchbook and a pencil. She never fancied herself an artist or anything, but she did like to play around with drawing whenever she had time, and what better subject than her two little toddlers, playing in the sand.

"She always is delighted. I think she had a sercret love of twins. Makes her think about me and my sister." Chuckling lightly before watching as the other woman near them had sat down and he turned his attention back over to watching the kids. "You think they'll n**?" Hopefully not...they'd been teaching the children not to bite at everythign their fangs wanted hold of.
"It easy." Going about showing how to fill the bucket and helping each other flip it over in the box and give the bottom a few taps so that the sand slid out in a mold of the bucket. Which got very excited giggles of course from her. Momentary pause to adjust little purple glasses she had on with darkened lenses and grabbing the dark red juice next to her. Sipping at it a moment, she handed it to her brother. ANd back to making sand castles...which was steadily turning into a giant fort wall like thing in the sandbox with all of them helping.

"I know she does, she told me so herself when I told her we were having them." She worried her bottom lip for a moment, glancing down at the other woman who seemed quite involved in her sketchbook and shook her head. "No. They're too busy playing and they've got juice over there too. It should tide them over. If they get hungry, they might. Instincts and all."
Filling the bucket was his favorite part and he happily pushed the red plastic shovel into the sand then dropped it into the bucket, steadily filling it up. Waving happily to the shy girl, his sister caught his attention and he grinned. Tipping the cup up and taking a sip, he turned his attention back to the little girl who was just sitting there. How come she wasn't playing? Building things was fun! He glanced at his cup and then at the girl and then held it out. "Want juicy? I share."

Lilly eyed the cup being offered to her. Mommy always told them not to share food and drinks with strangers, cause they could get sick. But she didn't want to be rude. A quick glance toward her Mommy showed that she was busy coloring, so at least Lilly wouldn't get in trouble. She took the cup and took a little sip, hoping that would give her less of a chance of getting sick.
Addy was busy drawing windows in the side of the sand castle. They were really just squares, but to Addy they were windows.
After a moment or two looking at the makeshift moat, she got an idea. Violently she stuck her hand in the water and made a splash. "Rrr rrr rrr," she growled in a rythmic almost sing-song tone. "I'm-a al-gater, an I'm gonna eat you up!" She moved her hand in a chomping motion in the water to show it was talking and wiggled it back and forth.

A little distressed look as the cup was passed over to one of thier new little playmates and she sipped at it. "Ain't 'spose share juicy Toby!" She didn't know why they weren't supposed to share, she just knew that they weren't. Mommy and daddy had just always said it was 'special and only for her and her brother'. Of course for little vampires, almost all their drinks were laced with at least a bit of blood in them.
But she was duly distracted by rowdy noises from the other, big green eyes being drawn there before a giggle. For toddlers, distraction was easy to come by and thus she was distracted from what had worried her seconds prior. Giggling to the playful actions, she dropped to her hands nad knees in the sand, repeating it back to her. "I'm biggered algerter! Grrrr!" Now it was all about how they handled it...either compete with each other who was 'biggered'...or torment their siblings.

Lilly tried not to make a funny face. It was weird juice, but she tried to be polite. "Thank you," she said and handed it back. She was worried a moment about getting sick for a moment, but that fear was quickly lost when she saw Addy and the other girl's hand-alligators.
Addy danced about, making her other hand into an 'alligator' to match the first. "Garr," she said, squinting one eye and scrunching up her nose. "Mmm, tasty peoples," she chomped after her sister and the little boy.
Lilly laughed a child's 'fake scream' kind of laugh and fell over sideways in an attempt to get away. "It's monsters!"
"No dummy," Addy said matter-of-factly. "It's al-gaters."
Lilly stopped a moment. "Oh." And was quickly overwhelmed by her sister's light pinches from the 'alligators'.

Frowning at his sister, he turned back to the little girl and took the cup back. "Welcome." See, now she was talking and playing. Sharing was good. And his parents hadn't come over to take it away or scold him either. The new game distracted him just as much and he stood up and stomped his feet. "I eats all-gators. Yum yum." Opening and closing his mouth with a snap before he made like he was going to jump on his sister and the other girl. "Eats them all up."

She followed suit, but while one sister tormented the other, she tormented the tormenter. She didn't like to scare her brother, especially when he got upset and things broke. But her attention changed back to him as he decided that he was even bigger than they were...and ate what they were. A little giggle-squeal from her as he more or less pounced at them moments later, meaning a pile of toddlers in the sandbox, thrashing and kicking up sand. "Algerter cruncher! Runs!" Doing her best to get out of the pile and toddle-run around in a circle screaming....because it seemed like a good idea to keep her alligator hands alive.

As she was attacked from behind, Addy let out a gleeful squeal of surprise. She fought back with her 'gators' but was fighting a losing battle as the boy also joined in.
Lilly got up as she was 'rescued' and started running circles around the sandbox giggling.
But the excitement and laughter of two other children made Addy a little dizzy and she flopped over on the sand. Their thoughts of joy were mixing with hers and her sisters, like a chorus of giggles in her head. She was still laughing though, thoroughly enjoying herself. It was like being drunk on happiness.
Lilly stopped and looked at her sister, a little confused.
Japi looked up from her sketch at the kids playing and watched. It was an odd scene, but she waited to see what would happen. No use interrupting fun. She'd wait til there was crying, and hopefully it wouldn't come to that. She was a little worried, since it was the first time Addy and Lilly had played with someone their own age.

Toby grinned at the girls and gave chase around the sandbox, attempting to get any one of the two all-gators. He made chomping noises and continues stamping though his fearsome facade was less believable through the chorus of his own giggles. A moment later, he caught his sister and hugged her tightly. "I gots an all-gator!" he squealed then opened his mouth and pretended to bite her hands. He knew better than to actually do it because his fangs liked to pinch and pierce things. It wasn't his fault though.
Giggles and squeals caught her attention and she glanced up with a smile, watching the four chase each other. "At least they're getting along." When her son caught his sister and opened his mouth, she jumped up and ran over, shaking her head. "Toby! No!"
