I'm not happy (or surprised) by this, but I am glad that the music is written by Jeanine Tesori, who did Thoroughly Modern Millie (which I kind of to mostly liked) and Caroline or Change (which I think is a cramazing score). Also, Jason Moore is Directing, who did Avenue Q. However, it is another movie>musical transfer which has potential horrificness attached to it. But you never know. I thought Xanadu would be a train wreck, but it was excellent.

I think I heard about this a while ago actually. The only reason I know about it from way back is because the guy who's playing Shrek essentially pulled a Nikki Blonski (a.k.a. never done professional-let alone big time show sort of thing). I'm not really into the trend of take movie and make musical out of it that is occuring right now. Although...Legally Blonde was amazing and not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, AND the characters are more in-depth than the movie, which is suprising.

That'll be a bit unusual...but if they can pull off underwater staging in the Little Mermaid, they'll be able to pull off Shrek fine. Should be funny.

I'm considering seeing it ONLY because John Tartaglia is in it... though he plays Pinnochio which won't be too huge a part. Then again, Sutton Foster is in it as Princess Fiona, so I might skip it before she ruins another role with her 'acting' skills.

Just a heads up, but this person has a couple of songs from the show uploaded.
