Since the 2008 elections are VERY shortly away from US citizens, I though I'd make a thread about general discussion of it. It seems as though my favorite Republican candidate (who, by the way, is better than Hillary Clinton by a landslide) Ron Paul will not be getting enough support to get put on the electoral ballot, which pisses me the ******** off. The man was attacked over and over again by FOX News (in other words, the entire Evangelist Christian society) and will more than likely be dropping out due to the influence said channels have upon his arguments. HONOEZ- SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALITY AND LIMITING GOVERNMENT EXPLOITATION IS WRONG AND MUST BE DISMISSED Hillary Clinton needs to die in a burning fire in the deepest pits of Hell itself. She's the worst of all blaspheming cunts claiming to be politicians. John McCain and virtually every other Republican candidate that is radically conservative deserves the same fate.
I, for one, will be voting for the Socialist Party USA's candidate Brian Moore (Florida) for president and Stewart Alexander (CA) for vice president. Since I'm a few bucks shy of joining the SPUSA outright, I figured I need to give my support to my favorite third party. Yay for democratic socialism (as opposed to the idiotic authoritarian/communist/socialist movements that I find entirely hypocritical.)
What do you think of the current race? Who will you be putting in a vote for when the ballots are finalized?
SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS EVEN IF YOU CANNOT LEGALLY VOTE

I need to register to vote! Thanks for reminding me!
Well, I haven't really been paying much attention to polotics (even though I should) but I am about to go into my government class (the term ends next week for the classes I'm in now) so I will be hearing a lot more about all of the candidates. My twin brother is in government right now and he said his whole class is against hillary so you don't have to worry much about her.... I think she is a big fake.

Bush managed to get into office TWICE. I believe my worry remains well-founded. xp I just know she is a neo-Nazi b***h, exploiting the population no less than an Evangelical Christian would. I hate that b***h so much.

I personally like Hillary a lot. I've been watching the debates closely, and I disliked her at the beginning, but she definitely grew on me. I respect that she's making an effort to be independent of her husband, and I agree with most of her intended policies. I think she has the experience needed for presidency, unlike Obama (who my entire university splooges over).
Though honestly, I'm excited regardless of who wins, just to get Bush out of office. xd

But Hillary strikes me as a subtle racist and her policies tend to focus on capitalist whites gaining power in America, something I entirely disagree with. I don't particularly support Obama, though. He makes too good a pawn of Congress. If I had to pick anyone, it would be Ron Paul. Though I disagree with plenty of his views, his view of future government far exceeds anything I've seen from any candidate thus far.
If John McCain becomes president, though, we're going to have a dark ages WORSE than Bush. gonk

I think Hillary is probably the best option for our country right now. I really don;t believe for a second that another republican would be what we need, though i would accept McCain over any of them, but I think Hillary is the most progressive and experienced candidate that actually has a chance of winning.

gakihime From what I hear, she keeps contradicting herself... like I said, thats what I hear. I don't really pay attention to this stuff (well, right now anyway..) If you can give me a list of 10 politicians that are not hypocrites, I'll give you a medal. Politics is mostly deception, lying, and cowardice, anyhow. Just like the media. There's the occasional gem, but most of it is cowardly bullshit.
Anyone that wants a lesser form of politics, go to celebrity gossip. Less fatal and more entertaining, but the same aspects of politics and celeb gossip remain.

yes, unfortunately. Otherwise we'd have horrible people making worse decisions for us than the people who are doing it now. I just wish we didn't have people that are full of s**t in charge of us... but it is better than other countries so I won't complain more than this. lol

Even in African countries where people are killed in endless war every day. AMERICAN politics are more about subtle power- chunks and pieces given to those in charge without the knowledge of the public. Places like third-world African countries where wartime isn't simply common, it's a way of life, is simply far more direct. If the US was smaller, it would be much, MUCH easier for the US to simply become a whiter version of war-time African countries, if you ask me.
And just remember, not ALL politicians are full of s**t- just the majority of them. Completely unbalanced, but still.

I used to watch the news every day and cringe at how much the democratic presidential candidates (who announced their candidacy two years before the election) and the news media were making the election look like another reality TV contest. TONIGHT ON FOX! A BLACK MAN AND A WOMAN SQUARE OFF! ONLY ONE WILL COME OUT THE VICTOR! I vote apathy for now. I'll figure out on my own who's the least unqualified to run the country and probably vote for them come election day.
