Beast

The world is at its strongest yet. No existent nation has experienced warfare within the past two centuries. Settlements have been made and there has been peace for generations. The art of war is merely a study now and no army ever sees any action, though military keeps growing and remains sturdy.

That’s when the earth shook. No one understood what it meant; there was confusion throughout the land. Then came the strike of a creature. It began moving from one city to another, taking its sweet time to destroy the victimized settlement and leave nothing left. Sometimes the attacks would come one day after another, other times it would be weeks of silence and then yet another brutal ambush. This creature has never been seen before now; it is not a breed of this world. The origins of it cannot be placed and it remains nameless, though it doesn’t need a title to communicate the terror.

Then the master of the creature showed himself. Human? Hardly. Demon? Believed to be so, but no one knows for sure. He is as nameless as his monster, but all nations do know one thing. He is on a quest to destroy everything. Not for world domination or for riches or power. He merely calls it sport.

All nations have called for an emergency congregation. The best trackers, warriors, mages, strategists, anyone of use has been called forth to form an elite team. This panel of experts has volunteered to attempt to bring down the creature before it creates any more destruction and wipes out all beings and civilization. They must bring down this monster before it’s too late.

Rules

§ Follow TOS

§ Follow guild rules

§ No god modding

§ No sex, drugs, or running with scissors

§ Absolutely no autohitting (whcih is also god modding) unless you've already planned it out with the other person THROUGH PMS. OOC in the thread will lead to angry people.

§ PM me your character profiles, title it "I'm a goofy goober" so I know you read the rules. If it is not titled "I'm a goofy goober then your soul will be eaten by bed bugs.

§ Stay active or get left behind, I hold no sympathy for negligence.

§ Don't be ridiculous and create some kind of ninja character. Just don't do it.

§ Write out your chracter's appearence please. No avi's and even if you want to have a pic you have to write out the appearence as well.

§ Don't kill other people's characters without permission.

§ Romance is allowed, but don't take it out of proportion. PG 13 guys.

§ Try to keep how many characters you make down to a minumum. I know that I personally am notorious for making a character that just comes and goes. If you plan on having a character stay, please ame a profile, otherwise I could really care less.

§ I don't care if you swear or cuss or use "sunday school words" as my grandmother calls them. Just don't do it every other line.

§ Don't make me create any more rules.

Basic info

Kay, so, yay RP. The Characters you will be playing are going to be the team of elite going after the big monster; big surprise, right? I can play Mr. Evil unless someone is insistent on being him. If you'd like to contribute a plot point to the story go ahead and PM me and we'll work things out, it's always better for everyone to contribute to the plot then just have one person map it all out. As for your character's race/breed . . . you can make up what breed your charater is just as long as it's realistic enough for mythology. No "TWO HORNZ ON MAH BUTT, A MONKEY TAIL AND SPIKES AND KITTY EARZ AND PAWS AND WHISKERS AND FISH GILLZ, LOLZ!"
As comical as that might sound . . . no.

Username: Je suis a toi
Character name: Nascha Took
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Race/Breed: Halfling Cait Sidhe
~ Nascha is a good healer and has the ability to Phase. Phase is a system with the same principal of something like ‘teleporting’ but one cannot simply poof anywhere at any time. There has to be a Phase Link to the place she wants to go or else she will not be able to get there. Phase Links have been set up in very many places by Nascha’s ancestors and even her parents. She can Phase quite well on her own and even with others though it takes up a large amount of energy.
Appearance: Nascha, being half human and half Cait Sidhe has catlike features mixed in with the human ones. Her ears are up higher on her head and differently shaped but this isn’t noticeable under her long and wavy brown hair; if she wears her hair pulled back you can see how they are pointed and shaped to catch sound. Her eyes are, of course, catlike and she has the fanged smile of a feline, but the rest of her facial features remain human. Her hands are slightly different and she has retractable claws, an unusual feature even for a half-breed. Her knees are bent backwards as a cats are but this is not noticeable through the clothing she wears, though she does have a different sort of walk. Her thin body form and strong arms and legs allow her to sprint like a cat on all fours. She interestingly enough has a tail as well but can hide it easily; it is only useful for heling her catch her balance when running quickly and turning.
Personality: Nascha is a happy-go-lucky kind of person with a bouncy attitude. She likes to play around and sometimes can resist the feline impulse to chase things. She’s good at keeping the cat in her under control but if she’s taken off guard she might let a hiss or a growl let loose, but most often she’ll apologize for it.
Background: Her mother was a full Cait Sidhe and her father just a human. She gained her ability to Phase through her father and healing from her mother. She was a bit of an odd child and an only child at that, but her parents taught her well and loved her endlessly. When she turned sixteen she began traveling, as her father and his fathers had, setting up Phase Links where possible and making her ‘mark on the world’ . . . in other words she bothered a few people, got in trouble, and lived life to the fullest.

Username: Je suis a toi
Character name: Sven Tarkaan
Gender: Male
Age: 128
Race/Breed: Vampire
~Besides being a Vampire unable to die except from a steak through the heart and whatever clever means hunters come up with in the current days, Sven has certain strange abilities. He is a shape shifter and an adept one at that. Another thing he can do quite well, manipulate and even summon what he calls “Hell’s fires”, a flame coupled with magic. Different colors signify different magic usage and anyone touched by the flame will not only be scalded but be affected with whatever punch of magic that comes with it.
Appearance: Sven wears long pants, black boots that go over his pants up to the knee, a long sleeved shirt, dark gloves, a large trench coat, a long scarf to cover most of his face and a wide brimmed hat. All this clothing is to protect him from UV rays of the sun’s light and all of it is black to keep him warm; though he is naturally cold blooded he still cant function as someone who’s totally frozen. Without his extensive clothing he is a very pale man with the most interesting color purple eyes. His hair is jet black as is the color of his beard and he stands at about 6’2”. He always has his crossbow at his hip along with his steel-tailed whip.
Personality: For a Vampire, Sven is typically a somewhat kind person. He is knowledgeable and fair, though any attempt at making him seem foolish will earn you a chance at being bitten. He despises any form of cruelty just for the sake of it and serves anyone who shows malice their just reward.
History: Sven didn’t always used to be a Vampire. Typical story, he was just an ordinary human until he was bitten. It was slightly tragic for him because he’d lost his only love. Now he hopes to find another though it will be difficult for him. As the Beast began showing itself more and more, Sven became more interested. He was one of the best trackers around in his human days and crossing over didn’t change this a bit. He would track the Beast and try and find the man who called himself the owner but never could. Meanwhile he settled himself to finding a link between which towns were attacked because he knew there was one somewhere.

Username: Zulma san
Character name: Angaya
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Race/Breed: human- witch
Appearance: Angaya has a very light blue skin. Her eyes, nails and wavy hair recall the color of a deep ocean. She is wearing her hair mi-long, with the front one slightly longer which half of the time masks a part of her face. She is of an average size. Very thin, almost skinny, she always looks like she were somewhere else. Her eyes have been sad and dreamy since the Beast appeared.
Personality: she is very quiet and totally lack social skills. She is very sweet to any being, especially animals. For her, human and human-like creatures are just more intelligent animals thus her lack of social skills. She hides her emotion all the time. see background She feels like this is her duty to find a way to stop the Beast.
Background: She was created and raised as a Guardian of Life and Balance. Since a kid, she is able to interact with creatures. Not that she can "talk" to them, but she can feel them, their mood. She can interact more or less quickly and deeply with animals, it depends on them and her state of mind. Her trainers seeing her ability, helped her developed it. If she concentrates and the person in front is receptive she can "mind talk" but that requires a lot of energy on her part and can be dangerous. Her link with the Nature makes her able to "control" anything alive if needs be (vegetals or animals, she cannot move stones for example). But once again doing so can be dangerous for her. She is still learning. Since the "Beast" appeared she feels threatened all the time although she has never been close enough to the Beast to interact with it.

Username: Memory_Owl.
Character name: Zerlegen Zerstoren.
Gender: Female.
Age: 33.
Race/Breed: Human.
Appearance: It's obvious what her line of work is just by looking at her. Standing at five feet and six inches, her curly dark brown hair falls to her shoulder blades but is held back with a thick headband in the shape of a rib bone and made of ivory. Her ample but proportional curves are covered with ebony Egyptian cotton that is lined with white silk. Zerlegen's eyes are a dark amethyst color outlined with bronze eyeliner, the dress she wears ruffles in the front like drapes might and reaches down to her ankles, her feet have thick bandages over them dyed dark red with the blood of her enemies and she has no trouble walking around with such strange footwear, the top of her dress leaves her pale stomach exposed and cupping her breasts are fitted skulls made of steel, the back of her dress is also open with a steel spine and ribcage covering her back and sides for added defense. Zerlegen prefers her stomach to be exposed due to her magicks. Her body is toned with womanly muscles including her strong legs being her powerhouse. And due to her practices she has a soothing creamy complexion, skin soft as porcelain. Around the necromancer's neck is a whistle which can be used to call her minion's to her or even cause them pain if they've incorrectly performed a command. The necklace is made from a demon lord's bone and so it can also be used to harm enemies. She also wields a necromancer staff which she forged from ebony and the spirit of vile imps. Zerlegen's various powers will be explained during battle, but always on her person is a small pack hanging around her waist with a large "A" embroidered on it, filled with various gems to further enhance her energies.
Personality: Knowing what she has nearly mastered is frowned upon and overall thought of as evil, Zerlegen will be very short and at times sarcastic towards strangers but becomes rather charming once she trusts someone. She's rather gentle when in a soothing mood but is still an overall chaotic being. While becoming irked if something is to go awry she doesn't anger easily and has never been known to take out emotions on either the living or the undead. Once starting a task the woman becomes enthralled and refuses interruptions, usually encasing herself in a thick but hollow sealing of bone. The task doesn't have to be something important and is usually a personal experiment of hers. Zerlegen doesn't have a sense of humor and so dislikes any horseplay. She is ruthless to her enemies, usually tying them up and rendering them helpless as some of her summoned hellhounds tear at their flesh. Zerlegen is sneaky and secretive at times, she has to be since she practices dark magicks as well as slinks about for possible victims that she thinks none will miss. Learning from a fellow necromancer she is also somewhat silver-tongued in tight situations.
Background: Going into training with a half demon at the age of eleven, Zerlegen learned early what it means to be terrifying. Her parents had let her go reluctantly but later she found out they were glad to be rid of a daughter with dark power, so in her late teenager years she returned home only to have a poltergeist haunt their house for a few years. After learning how to make her own Netherworld "explosives", Zerlegen began to realize how difficult it was to properly train the undead. Locating a demon lord she gave him offerings of slaves for his foreboding castle as well as sacrificed unicorns in his name. After a few weeks the demonic being finally agreed to aid her and formed a whistle from a bone off the tip of his whip-like tail. Before letting the necromancer leave however, Abaddon the demon proposed to Zerlegen and the two have been married for five years. During those few years she had left him for a time after they got into an argument of sorts. Meeting with her childhood friend Raum Himmel, now an infamous rogue, the two necromancers teamed up with another pair of friends to construct Necropolis, the underground city of necromancers. Having been contacted due to the recent Beast situation she gracefully left her lover at their estate although he strongly opposed her leaving, she had persuaded him to let her go. Abaddon nearly came along with her but refrained since the Beast is a rumored demon and he doesn't enjoy battling kin. He had given her a small leather bag that contains a collection of gems as a brief parting gift, reminding her to return safely. He only wants her alive so she'll create a dastardly portal for him to use. Now as the demon lord waits anxiously the necromancer has gathered herself at an inn of some distant city to await orders or possibly recruit any to help go against the Beast.

Username: Divine Shadows
Character name: Vincent Cray or “Zero Cray”
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Race/Breed: An Ice Elemental
~ Vincent is an ice elemental that keeps mostly to himself, this is to prevent him from touching any living creature or risk freezing it solid from the inside out. In order to keep his icy touch from accidentally killing someone when he bumps into them, he must wear white gloves to seal away his elementals powers to prevent such a thing from happening and it also holds his full power at bay. If he were to remove the gloves all the power that has been held back for years would flow out like a broken dam, devouring everything in it’s path and causing Vincent’s body to go into catastrophic melt down. He is able to use his power by manipulating any liquid particles. He can create ice based attacks and defenses by using the water particles in the air freezing them and shaping them, he can also freeze all the water particles in the air slightly to create a thick mist for escapes. The ice that Vincent creates is harder that steel and does not melt or break easily. Vincent can keep his footing on ice as if it were regular ground and is adaptive to almost all climates, because he can control ice, which he uses to cool down the area. Lastly Vincent is able to turn the temperate in the area to 0 degrees Kelvin.
Appearance: Vincent stands at around 5’ 11” and weighs around 193 lbs. He has the build of a well-built fighter, but has a slim body that gives him his agility and speed. His skin is pale white like the snow he controls, but still holds some color. His hair is completely white not gray, but pure white, and is set in a semi spiky fashion. The color of his eyes is a soft blue that almost fade into his iris, because they are so light. His face is gentle even for his icy appearance and he has two silver ear rings in his left ear. Vincent wears a long white cloak, with white fur fringe on the cuffs and the collar, a silver spiked shoulder pad strapped on his right shoulder, and on the back of his coat are two blue fish that are circling each other. The cloak is open at the front to reveal a light blue under shirt with two white intersecting perpendicular lines that cross over his left breast. He wears long white pants with light blue strips racing vertically on the outer sides and silver spiked shin guards on both legs. On his feet he wears a set of white shoes. He carries a silver round locket around his neck that is beautifully decorated. He also wears a set of white gloves, and on the back is a negation seal embroidered in blue and on his right ring finger he keeps a ring; his elemental symbol a blue sapphire and silver spiraling fish in the center. He carries a short bow and leather quiver on his back and a 4’ 7” Scottish Claymore on his left hip in a highly decorative silver sheath. No matter where he is a stream of vapor can be seen trailing from his mouth.
Personality: Vincent’s expressions can be at best, cold. Like his power, he is icy and far off. He seems to have a mysterious about him and he rarely smiles. Vincent is almost always in control of his emotions and when those rare occasions when he lets his sorrow show, the area starts to snow softly as if to comfort him. He keeps mostly to himself unless he takes a particular liking to someone, and then he will open up. Though he seems cold and dark, he has a warm heart that refuses to freeze solid, unlike the rest of him. He cares deeply for those he cares about and will die before he sees them hurt, this may be one of the reasons he stays distant. He is a good actor, so it is hard to tell when he is covering up his true emotions.
Background: Vincent was a member of the Elemental Family known as the Cray, but was cast out when he failed to save his brothers, which to them was a sign of weakness. As a child, Vincent wasn’t a very good fighter. When he grew older and still had not developed the taste for fighting his brothers had, they made fun of him and called him ‘Zero Cray’ because of his lack of fighting ability. One day when he and his brothers were out hunting, a rival clan struck and his brothers fought while he ran. He watched on in horror from a safe location as his brothers were slaughtered. When he returned to his family with the news they were appalled that he had not tried to help his brothers and he was disowned from the Cray family and sent to live in exile at the age of twelve. He spent ten years in exile, training and honing his fighting skills as a memento to his brothers and he became extremely skilled. He also learned to control his abilities as an Ice Elemental to the point of near perfection, but he still couldn’t control his powers and when he got angry or frustrated they would burst forth. On the final day of his exile Vincent was preparing to return to his home, when suddenly he noticed a smoke trail coming from the direction of his village. Though he was still technically banished, he took the risk and sped to the village as if the devil were at his heels, and when he arrived he found the village in ruins and everyone dead. Not one had survived, not even the children had been spared. With raging anger he headed to the only people who could be responsible and when he arrived at the rival clan’s village he did to them what they had done to his people, and he wiped them out. When he came to he had known what he had done with a heavy heart and from that day forth he swore never to kill unless it was necessary and he created a sealing spell in order to hold back his powers and prevent him from hurting anyone in his rage again.

"Here we are, Ms. Took. Just in time."

The door to the carriage opened and Nascha stepped out taking a look around. Before her stood the great confrence hall of St. Cleoud where the congregation was to meet. Many towns people were streaming in to get seats before they ran out, but Nascha didn't have to worry about that. She had a reserved seat for her calling. The hafling had been asked to join the elite they planned to bring the Beast down with. She accepted the 'invitation', more like a beggars plea, and came to the congragation that was to take place in just a few moments.

Nascha went up the large marble stairs and entered through the double doors. It didn't take much to notice her different sort of jaunt and the jet black tail twitching back and forth behind her. A few villagers gave her odd looks but she didn't pay them any mind, instead she continued her way up to the front to sit at the tables set before the panel of leaders where she waited for the last of the elite to arrive.

Angaya had not expected so many people to be around. She was used to peace and the only loud noise she knew was the one of the storms...until the Beast arrived. In any case she was not comfortable around here, but she did not want anyone to see her as weak. *I am a Guardian of Life and Balance.* she thought to motivate herself.

She had received an "invitation" days ago and her trainers had push her to come. She thought that only an handful of people would come...this did not seem to be the case. As written in the missive, she headed for the front row.

She sat as quietly as possible, hiding her pale blue skin under a long hooded cape, next to one of the strangest creature she had ever seen. Possessing both the characteristics of cat and human, a pretty female creature was sitting next to Angaya. Angaya's eyes doubled. *Nature is so unique!* she thought.

Zerlegen is marching down the street and is being given a wide berth. People spot the bloody bandaged feet, the ominously dark clothing, gleaming dark eyes and an accursed staff wielded by an unfriendly face. She keeps her head held high, posture flawless and movement as fluid as a slithering serpent. Upon entering the conference hall some voices silence themselves from the woman's grave presence. As the necromancress makes her way to her seat her sidebag makes a faint chiming noise as her gems bump together but her feet make no sound at all. Glancing over the front row she looks at the backs of the other present elite so far, both young and with odd attributes, one being heavily cloaked which causes instant distrust within Zerlegen and the other with feline characteristics whom nearly boasts strong blood. Keeping her amethyst eyes dead ahead now Zerlegen seats herself as far from the other two as is possible. At this point the skeletal imp atop her staff and looks around uttering with a rasp tone which beings present would offer the most service as dead to his mistress. With a slight grin the necromancress taps the imp's head, he huffs and resumes a stationary position, no putrid fumes are emitted nor does anything glow unless she uses her magick. Not wanting to have to hold her staff for the entire meeting Zerlegen summons a minion. A young man with his mouth and eyes stitched shut, as well as various stitched scars running over his body. He has on a pair of tattered pants, gently taking his mistress' staff before seating himself in a shadowed corner. Now she places her hands in her lap, sitting up straight and staring at the council expectantly.

Although the new comer did not sit next to them, Angaya could feel that she was no ordinary person. Just the presence of the necromancress made the half-witch shiver. She could not explain why but she felt not at ease.

She moved nervously on her chair, dropping a little white rock which rolled on the floor up to the foot of the dark clothed woman. Angaya's eyes widened and she stayed on her chair staring at the rock and showing ostensibly her back to where the coucil was supposed to arrive at any moment.
In a movement to say something, her hood fell showing a pale blue face surrounded by deep ocean blue mi-long hair. A whisper raised from some people sitting close to her and some fingers pointed at her, but Angaya did not notice still focusing on the little rock at the feet of the necromancress.

PostPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2008 7:42 am

Instantly her back seems to straighten even more if that's at all possible. Zerlegen doesn't move at first for a few moments, she knows that any item no matter the size could hold danger if danger is wished upon her. Sensing his mistress' unrest the stitched man utters a muffled, unworldly groan and with frightening speed stumbles to Zerlegen's side, nostrils flaring as though his rotted olfactory senses would sniff out the problem. The necromancress soon calms herself and places a light hand on her servant's shoulder whom becomes reassured enough to shuffle once more into the shadow. Now Zerlegen is curious of the villagers' alarm. She first looks at the hooded figure and is nearly blinded by a light blue skintone, squinting her eyes slightly. Realizing this is why the young woman is cloaked all of suspicion seeps from her like blood from an open wound. In what looks to be an uncomfortable fashion for the body she tilts her head to observe the pearly stone. Slowly reaching out a hand that closes like a claw, Zerlegen stands and strides over to the owner. She wouldn't subject herself to leaning over all those empty seats, wouldn't reach anyhow. With a solemn air the stone is pressed into the blue woman's hand.
"Treat the stone nicely and it will treat you the same." her voice is hollow but melodic, rather cruel as well as though this woman had just insulted her passively.
With that said the necromancress pivots on a bloody heel and returns to her seat. Her abrupt departure is due to her mistrust for strangers and because she doesn't want to be standing when the council actually arrive. Her previously bizarre words might mean nothing to most but it means a great deal for any like herself. Aside from gems, rocks and various items can be used in multiple magicks. Now Zerlegen resumes her strict posture, keeping her wrists loose in her lap to stare at the surface of the table before her. If this meeting carried on for more than an hour she'd probably invoke the council to get to their point. A grin dawns upon her ermine features.
The council isn't even here and you already can't wait to scold them. Impatient, vain, petty creature.
This thought wills the necromancress to calm herself. Keeping her head lowered like a corpse she raises her arms above her head and gives them a mighty stretch, arching a bit to include her abdominal muscles and chest. With a soft sigh her arms lower, body ready to endure whatever bantering or bickering is to come the elites' way.

Angaya had frozen even more when the minion rushed to his mistress. Totally immobile when the woman gave her stone back. The words were tolling in her soul like a bell. She stared at the stone in her hand and looked back up, opening her month to voice a 'thank you' but the woman was already back to her chair.

By reflex more than awareness of the effect she created, Angaya put her hood back on and sat. The little rock still in her hand, her eyes gazing over it she recalled her main trainer's words while he gave her the stone.

"You are a Guardian of Life and Balance. However your magic is based uniquely on pure Life. You need to learn that Death and Pain are part of the Balance. Learn from this stone." He then had left her with no other words.

*Learn from this stone. Treat the stone nicely and it will treat you the same. I have to learn.* her lips moved but no sound left her throat when she said her thoughts.

She looked up, realizing back where she was. This place was a torture, far too many people, she hoped that the council would soon appear.

Nascha's tail twitched back and forth as she silently watched another woman, formidable for lack of a better word, enter and sit after a cloaked and hooded figure sat near her. As moments passed it seemed that all three females present had something interesting to them that was obvious and hardly even an introduction was made. The woman who chose to sit a distance from them ahd an entorage of death and the girl closest to her had the lightest blue of skin. The Cait Sihde didn't sit and stare at either of the women as the members of the congregation were. Nascha knew how uncomfortable it was to be stared at.

Soon the council of eight men appeared before them and seated themselves behind the elevated tables that hid their chairs and legs. Many formalities were adressed and the apparent leader of the council droned for a time about their predicament and the reason why they were there. He gazed out at the assembled elite, seeing at least ten members there, and told them all that they were merely requested to join in this duty and could resign if they wished.

Nascha found herself rather bored and she just couldn't seem to keep her tail curled across her front and resting on her lap. The tip of it tapped up and down on her leg as she yearned for something more exciting to do. The councilman droned more and more and by the time the cat gir was sure nearly everyone was asleep he looked to Angaya.

"Please, miss. If you would step foreward and state what you have to offer in this service, and wheather you plan to fight with the elite or not."

Angaya looked around to reassure herself that he was talking to her. She stood not at ease. She closed her eyes and remembered *Talk as if you were alone or with animals. Be strong. They will listen. Control yourself.*

She did not know what to say and what to keep silent. She did not like being the first to talk. She had been trained to keep her "abilities" for herself and now she was asked to tell them to everyone. Although peace had been there since forever, it did not prevent from the stares and the remarks from "normal humans".

She turned to the public, keeping her eyes closed and a hood on her head.
"I am Angaya, Guardian of Life and Balance." She said with a strong voice. "I can "feel" living beings." She added with a expressionless face, sitting back to her chair. Only then she opened back her eyes. Her eyes were betraying her all the time, whereas she was able to control entirely her face and body, thus she was closing her eyes when she wanted to hide her emotions.

Nearly glowering at the council she puts on a facade of serenity throughout all their talk, still as a stone gargoyle in a misty cemetery. After awhile longer of listening her aura had darkened drastically out of feeling like a sloth. Parting her lips slightly in order to scoff at the council she holds her tongue when the hooded girl is addressed. Her only movement is to turn her head, politely inclined to listen. Angaya is her name, title of Guardian. Zerlegen isn't sure how to fathom Angaya's spoken power but deduces she'll understand in due time. Once the azure skinned female is seated the necromancress stands, as usual pivoting on her heel to give the villagers a stern look, amethyst orbs ablaze with sincerity.
"I'm obviously a necromancress and have an entire legion to offer, within reason of course as I'm with limited energy being human. With the rest of the collected at my table I plan to meet this Beast head on as well as confront its cowardly master whom hides beneath the thing's shadow."
This time pivoting on her right heel the necromancress promptly sits down in her chair. Zerlegen's upbringing has taught her only to reveal her name to those she will be seeing more of. And of course this doesn't include the council, or the villagers, so she plans on stating her name later to the group at some point in time during their travel.

Nascha listened to the seemeingly shy girl the Council had called upon with subtle interest and smiled to herself a bit as she finished. The Council didn't even have to call on the next woman before she stood up and gave her own introduction. Everyone was quite surprised, as well as speachless, at the nacromancress' words. Nascha definately found the woman interesting, slightly frightening, but helpful.

The council then called on a few other people among the invited elite and they all seemed slightly mediocre compared to the two women who'd previously gone. Eventually the Council rested their eyes upon her and gave their inquiery. Nascha stood but did not face the public as the others had. Her business was not with them, it seemed silly to her to be talking to them.

"Nascha Took." she said casually. "Healer and Phaser."

The cat girl was about to be seated again when one of the councilmen continued. "Ah, yes, healer. That is why we wished you to join us here, but we are unfamiliar with what you call Phasing. Could you please elaborate for us."

Nascha sighed and pulled herself back up to standing, "Only way is to show you . . ."

Pilling a special pin from a pouch at her hip she lightly pricked her index finger and pressed it to get a small drop of blood. Turning her finger over she let the droplet fall to the ground as she mumbled something inaudiable then traced a small circle around the red speck on the floor with her foot. The area began to glow a light sort of blue then faded, sending a wave of soft blue light all across the floor.

"I have just made this building a Phase Link. This means I can Phase from here to somewhere else, from somewhere else to here, or I can Phase from here--" Nascha suddenly dissapeared from her standing place and the councilmen looked around in shock, wondering where she'd gone.

"--to here." Nascha reappeared right next to the councilman that had asked the question and was leaning over him, drumming her clawd fingers on the desk in front of him. "Any more questions?"

The councilman shook his head increadulously and the girl Phased right back into her chair.

Angaya listened carefully to the woman following her. She envied her ease of talking in front of everyone. She mentally noted her "title" *Necromancress*. This meant that this woman was dealing with death...She shivered. *I will have to learn from her.* she thought.

She listened as the other people from the elite group introduced themselves. A lot of different people with different abilities.

Then came the cat-woman whom Angaya sat next to. Angaya smiled as the young woman disappeared and reappeared. This was a quite impressive ability that she had. She was the last one to "talk".

Angaya looked at the council, waiting for it to tell them what she and the other "elite" members were supposed to do. Killing the Beast? Capturing it? Finding its owner?

Divine Shadows

Laughter started to fill the air and a chill crept into the room like a sense of impending dread. From the darkness of the corner of the room a hooded man stepped from the shadows and made his presence known to the council and the supposed 'Elite'.

"A witch, A healer, and a Phaser... not much of a group. Without a proper guardian you wouldn't last a moment. I'm not saying your weak of course, it's just your fighting styles are commonly more ranged than it is suited for close combat don't you think?"

The man was now in full view of everyone in the room. The upper half of his face was still hidden by his hood, but the rest of his face was visible, and something strange was that a vapor trail that one might find leaking from their own mouth if they were in a snowy area, but define not in a warm room, was flowing out of the man's mouth as he spoke. The man almost looked as if he belonged in a whole different world than the one he was standing in, and there was defiantly something inhuman about him, even if he had a human form.

"So what would you say would happen if a group of long ranged fighters came up against a group of close ranged fighters?" He smiled as the next word slipped from his lips, "Slaughter"

He bowed low to the group and gave a quick reassuring laugh before he spoke again.

"Oh how rude of me, it seems I’ve forgotten my manners. I am Vincent, better known as the 'Zero Cray'."

At the words 'Zero Cray' a few of the council members whispered amongst themselves with worried looks upon their faces. Vincent smiled at this, he knew his reputation as a mass murder had gotten around, but then again when you wipe out an entire clan in the blink of an eye, word is certain to get around.
