 Scarlet, haveing recently nabbed the evil squirrel who stole her precious flower, now prances across the clearing for another flower as the one the squirrel had gotten ahold of was beyond demolished.
She looked up and sighed. It really was a beautiful day-for winter anyway. Realitively warm, the snow wasn't slooshey, and the wind wasn't cold either. She wished for spring though. She loved spring!
She got to the patch of flowers and looked at them for a long moment, deciding which color to pick. There were so many! Red, blue, pruple, even yellow!

 Gavin bounded happily through the woods, occasionally stopping to flop into a large snow drift or sniff curiously at a pile of exposed leaves. Even though Gavin was now fully grown, he still acted like a colt. It had been a cold winter so far, and he had been spending most of it cooped up in Sabin's teepee thanks to his short coat and dislike of being cold for too long. But it started to get boring after a while, and he wasn't about to let a sunny day like this one go to waste. He had bounded up the mountain trail to fetch his sister, Piggy, and all but demanded that she join him on a romp today.
Sabin hadn't had many messages to send with him to Kamiki recently - or maybe he was just being nice and not making him go out in the cold, so he was happy to get the chance to play with his sister.
Everything smelled so interesting! The winter seemed to give everything a distinctive tinge. And then - up ahead - were those flowers blooming in the winter! He had to go take a look! Ears pricked, and barely waiting for Piggy to keep up, he darted ahead.

Piggy wasn't as sure about the cold as Gavin was, but there was no way she was going to let her knucklehead brother out in the snow alone. He would probably get trapped in a snowbank or something. She trailed along after him, her four little feet as full speed to keep up with him. She didn't quite understand how Gavin managed to maneuver so well in the snow. It made it harder for her to walk. Sometimes the snow was up to her chest, then to her knee...making her wet.
But all things considered...snow aside it was a bright day, warmish when you weren't hocks-high in frozen snow, and the winter did have a surprising clean scent to it. Finally after a while she began to relax and enjoy herself, though it was still a struggle to keep up with her brother.

Scarlet looked up at the two on comming tiny ponies and smiled brightly. "New friends," she shouted, losing all interest in the flowers and turning to the two Usdias. she bounded towards them, thinking they were as excited to make new friends as she was. The snow was, however making that hard. It came up to her chest and she had to more bounce than run.
Once she got within a reasonable shouting distence she made to greet them. However she had gotten so distracted by the two other ponies that she lost concentration of her footing and slipped on some ice unser the snow. This sent her plowing forward throguh the snow face first.

Fortunately for Scarlet, the little male usdia was quite friendly himself. He heard a small voice and turned, curious. At first he couldn't see much but the snow. Then, a small black and tan shape bounced through a drift: another usdia! Thank goodness it wasn't one of the big, scary soquili.
Not waiting for Piggy, he plowed through the snow drifts himself, mostly needing to bound more than walk per se himself. Who was this new face? It had been a while since he had met a new friend.
"Helloo there!" He shouted when he was closer, shaking off the excess snow and finding a spot where the snow was shallower. The stumpy tail wiggled as he watched the other form approaching.

Piggy bounded after her brother the best she could in the snow. Her friendly smile turned to one of concern as the other pony took a spill. "Are you okay?" Piggy called, doubling her efforts to pass her brother to see if the other pony was allright.

Scarlet popped back up out of the snow and panted slightly. "I'm fine!" she looked at the other two. "You look like corgis! That's so great! I've never met another corgi!" She wiggled her behind a little and tossed her mane. "What are you're names? I'm Scarlet!"

Gavin trotted up alongside his sister, nosing curiously towards this new face. He had never had the pleasure of meeting another Usdia since his old herdmates when he was really little. And she had a coloration that really did remind him of his and his sister! He had been told about his resemblance to the strange little corgi dogs before, but Gavin never gave much thought to the reasonings behind it. He was inquisitive about the world around him, but never skeptical or worried about things. Some of the soquili that he lived around were big, and kinda scary, but they never outright bothered him.
But this girl was his size - and friendly! How wonderful! "Hi!" Gavin responded enthusiastically. "My name is Gavin - and this is my sister, Piggy! I've never seen you around here before, Scarlet. Where are you from?"

"I came from the mountains where my two-leggers set up camp. It's not much fun up there, they keep me in close range, but I can get away every once in a while." Her ears flicked back and she sniffed Gavin. "I've never met another Cogi before! This is so cool! Wait until my two legger hears about this!" Granted, Scarlet knew Nenharma could not understand what she was saying, but she liked to ramble on to her while she nodded adn buchered some meat or dried something out or even sharpening her weapons.
She looked over at Piggy now. "Wow, Piggy's a really cute name! I like it. You're a corgi too! I found two other corgis, this is the coolest day ever in the history of the world!" She whinied and reared up onto her back legs. "Where did you come from?"
