User ImageSlavic had bedded down for the night, his brown head twisted and laying at his side. His ears were still perked, but his eyes closed. His two spiraled antlers/horns shone in the light, as he dozed. He nuzzled the ground, before lifting his head to scratch under his chin with a hoof. He yawned, shaking his head side to side, his ears hitting his head. He then opened his eyes and blinked around-gazing for his Commander.

Yes, he called the Wild Dog his Commander. He owed it to him. Ever since that day, where his life was spared... that Slavic gave his life over to his Commander. And now-he was at his services. He groomed his back with his pink tongue, his ears twisting and turning to listen to the world around him.

He wondered if his Commander was awake yet. He listened, while cleaning his chest. Today would be a good day. Perhaps, him and his Commander would go for a stroll... or they'd just laze... who knew. Slavic did not care. If his Commander told him to mate with a bird-he would damn well try. It was his job to make sure his Commander was content... no matter what. He blinked his brown eyes around.
Commander?? He questioned, gazing around curiously. Where had he lain down for the night? He started to unfold his legs to stand.'

What a good life. Mostly lazy as time passed, having things done for him by his family, mostly his parents. As of age, he was sort of... well, ousted from the family to fend for himself. Perhaps their way of forcing responsibility upon him, but if they saw him now, nothing has really changed. If he ever wanted something strongly, he would have done it himself to the fullest. However, that wasn't very often. His tasks were carried out by his little Peon, a waterbuck.

It was a while ago, actually, he forgets how long ago. During a hunt, starved and dehydrated, he was in desperate need of food. Coming across the prey, managing to catch him, but that sloth side made him spare his life. He was simply too lazy to get down and dirty himself. Luckily, he found an already dead meal to steal away. Awkwardly, the stupid waterbuck had been following. Who was he to tell him to leave him alone? If he was willing to do as he said, he was valuable to the wild dog.

Dark orange fur rolled over lean muscle, naturally toned from walking and simply moving. Lazy as he was, he still had to hunt, something that the waterbuck could not do for him. So hunting was all he did by himself. Actually, he would admit he had feelings for the thing, but why bother?

With a lazy grunt, he flagged his tail above the grass and waited for his Peon's arrival.

Why so early...Slav.

Slavic stood and lowered his head to tempt his mouth at a few choice tastey buds of plant- fiddling it with his tongue to see if it was worth eatting. Sometimes, his nose lied while his tongue told the truth. He lifted his head, his lower jaw moving side to side-content with standing where he was, grass too his knee's. His brown eyes caught sght of his Commander, and he nodded his head. Swallowing, he made his way over too where he was. He stood over the burnt ember dog and lowered his nose to sniff his Commanders white back paw.

The sun is up a bit in the sky Sir... He said, cocking his ruffled head. He nosed his commanders toes with his black nose-and then up too the sky. He knew his Commander didn't enjoy alot of traveling around... but... it wasn't healthy for him to sit around... at least not today. We should go find a different place to sleep for tonight...

It's not a good idea to sleep in the same place time after time-sir... Just something that I learned a while ago from my parents, sir. It is usually not a good idea. We've slept here... in this spot...

For days. He said, gazing around. The obvious inprints in the grass from where he himself had lain in slumber. Other signs of habitance.

Machu smirked and jerked his head up, clamping his jaws around his peon's neck, holding tight with a loud growl. Rumbling from deep inside his chest before letting go and licking him. With a yawn he raised into a sitting position, wagging a bit. His deep, sharp eyes shot at him.

"Don't be telling me what to do, Slavic. I know what I am doing, I only stuck around here because this spot was just too comforting to let go," he yawned again before raising to his feet. "It's outlasted its usefulness, we will find another place now and go back to sleep unless you feel like kicking a rabbit to death and bringing it to me."

He doubted it. Greatly actually that he was tempted to get his own food, but too lazy, especially after just waking up. The orange, burnt ember dog started to move, not entirely caring about Slavic if he followed or not. He just had a feeling that he was going to.

Machu wouldn't voice it, but he liked the water buck. Once or twice he had thought about having him sleep closer to him, but he might get the wrong idea... he liked him but not far enough to sleep with him.

"Slavic, remind me again why you follow me around. Some give us weird looks."

Slavic did not really react when his masters jaws wrapped around him. He was used too his friends ... masters attempts at discouragement. He simply stood stark still, his dark eyes not bulging or looking panicked. He knew, that though his Commander was a predator.. and could kill him-he would not hurt him. He had not hurt him before. He simply straightened up when the jaws left him. He stood, blinking with his neck slightly damp from his masters jaws. He blinked again, for his kind did that a lot. He lifted his head up, shaking his ears. My apologies sir.

Either way... I would sir... if I could.. but I am not very good at smiting things... remember the last time I tried. He said, following his Machu a few steps behind. IN fact, the one time he had tried desperately to catch his commander something to eat... he failed horribly and received a few bleeding scratches. Apparently flailing your legs at something didn't work very well. So now... he tried to only aid in the capture of something... rather than do it himself.

He padded along behind him, his antlered head shining proudly... thought he rather proud looking buck wandered behind the Dog like he was his father.
Well... I follow you around because I owe you my life.

When I lay there at your mercy.. torn and bloodied by that lion... I lay in pain and misery.. and you came upon me and spared my life. I healed and mended... and I found you again sir and I vowed to be your servant-

To repay the great deed you did.

Machu just rolled his eyes as the water buck continued to speak. Talkative one in this sort of prey-predator relationship. Not that he mind, otherwise a strange silence would be in the air and everyone didn't like silence all that much. Slavic's reaction to his sudden attack was that of natural submission, at least he assumed. Slavic would just grow still until he let go, actually, he did this quite a lot to shut him up or put him back into place. He wondered why he didn't just eat him at times, but he did need someone to order around. Slavic was really loyal for that one.

"I remember all too well. . ." he replied his tail behind him, raised to signal his dominance to this water buck even if he knew that quite well already. "I starved that night because I didn't feel like getting up and hunting. At least now, I don't have to worry about starving because huntings my job. Just do your normal stuff and you should be fine, Peon."

Machu stopped and turned his head over his shoulders.

"Honestly, Slavic, you have to think of a better phrase than 'I owe you my life', it sounds like I am your mate or lover or something, and which case, I am not. Just... don't try to get me to mate you or vice versa and you will continue living," he responded before starting to walk again.

Honestly... the way he said things was often time creepy.

Slavic followed after the burnt dog, his own tail swinging to swat at the bugs that persisted to buzz about's his hind end. He clopped along, his head bending down to nab up a few tidbits of grass and brush that seemed appealing. He was glad that Machu didn't make him hunt anymore... it was easier to do everything else for him. Slavic was very much used to any abuse he received... he just stood stark until it was over and went back to his usual...

But it is true... What else would I call it. Perhaps... I gave my elegance to you... because of a great deed you did? He asked, his head cocked too the side. He ducked under a rather low hanging tree branch, trying to avoid knocking his horns against the wood. He hated that feeling.

He would honestly never think of anything like that... mating and such. If anything... Machu was a god and Slavic worshiped him. Anything that was demanded to be done... was done... even if Slavic lost his life...

You see... Slavics mentality on things was... one deed for another. That was how he was raised.
I would never dare ask sir...

And inter-species stuff really isn't my piece of life-sir. He said sincerely.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 24, 2008 2:15 pm

"No, find a better phrase," he spoke over his shoulder before racing down the hill side spotting what seemed to be a nice place to rest for a few days. It was a ways away but it looked like it was a large grassy field with a water hole. It looked good and anything there would likely be scared off... or eaten.

He could not ask or even think of doing anything like that to Slavic, he was a one target male and he has to find that darn target first. Machu wanted a female to continue his bloodline for any other reason? Love. Pups. Family. All that stuff, but bloodline counted most for him at the time. Slavic... well, if he was able to find that special someone, he wasn't going to tell him no. At least his pups will have something to bother when they are around.

"I would rather eat you before then, Slavic. Come on, hurry before I leave you behind!"

Slavic nodded his head and set his mind straight to finding a diffrent phrase for it. Owed allegance? He thought hard, watching his master speed ahead and he broke into a quick trot. Didn't want to be to hastey, he might get a hoof stuck in a hole and break his leg. o.o Oh noes.

Slavic figured someday that Machu would chase him off... after all he seemed annoyed with him at times... but Slavic didn't know what he would do when that time came. He was used to the company of the dog. In fact, he rather enjoyed it. He plodded up to where Machu was and gazed about. A watering hole, perhaps he could spend some time wallowing.

Sir... have you ever thought about what you will do when you find a female? You'll need a cave or such cover-correct?
PostPosted: Fri Feb 01, 2008 4:10 pm

"A cave. A burrow. A den. A place to sleep, mate, and raise pups. I am not too focused on it... because, that's something you'll have to handle, Slavic. I ain't busying myself with such trivial things, you will do that. I have my eyes set on a target to find, charm, and take. Simple Plan, right?"

He smirked and headed down to the water hole. A good drink seemed like something that would be pleasing.

"What about you? I suggest you find a Doe yourself. A good girl who is loyal as you. Someone who will please you and keep you happy,"

And out of my fur when I want to be with my own mate....

Slavic padded along, listening to Machu's words and his dark eyes crawled across the landscape-eager to find something quickly so that his Master would be pleased with him. He turned his head and balked for a moment. A doe?

Sir.... I don't think I'd very much suit a doe at all. I am to large and dark colored-I bet they'd look past me in an instant I dare say. He said, bucking his head up and down a few moments. He watched Machu drink and smiled. But you'll have no problem finding a missus.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2008 11:54 am

[[ Hehe, it seems like he already found himself a den and a female. ;D ]]

Machu raised his dripping muzzle and cocked a brow.

"That wasn't entirely a suggestion, Slavic, it was more of an order disguised as one, perhaps, but it was a clear sign that I wanted you to find one, mate with her, and bring back the calves, with or without her in toe. Just because I want you to find a female and enjoy some of the finer things doesn't mean I want to get rid of you, Slavic,"

He scoffed and continued to drink.

His female had to be smaller, obviously, and she had to be a little bit of a push over so he could get his ways with her and she still be tolerant to his laziness. Hopefully, he will be able to keep it after she has his pups, if they were to come.

Slavic watched his Wild dog drink and stood thinking deeply. Calves... he wasn't sure who would be willing to take himself as a mate... he was after all barely a waterbuck-waltsing around behind Machu and being his personal slave. But... this was the life that slavic chose... and he even changed his name to prove it. He wasn't sure if a female would ever be attracted to him.

"
I suppose you are right... Having children would be a wonderful experience but I am afraid that I am not much of a male... and very unattractive. He said, deciding to stop doting on it.

He ducked his head down and began to slur his own thirst.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 1:54 pm

"Is that so? Not much of a male? Then perhaps I should change my plans and find you a male instead. Will that work out for you Slavia?"

he poked at the Waterbuck's comment. What sort of idiot was he? Not wanting a female, thinking himself unattractive. Not that he would know. If Slavic wanted a mate, he had to be confident that he will find one. Woo her, and make his way deep into her heart. And then all will be fine. Whenever calves came, they came. Machu could careless who it was with or when it happened. He was more interested in things that concerned himself at the moment. A den. A female. A family. And keeping Slavic loyal.

"Tomorrow, I am going hunting, I suggest you graze before we head off again the day after."

Slavic didn't take offense, he was used to Machu's words. He simply lifted his head and licked the drops from his muzzle. Slavic wasn't a very confidant buck-in fact... he was so intent on being with Machu-cause he didn't like him for his looks-her barely liked him at all. It was a place to belong-even if it meant slavery. He blinked his eyes. Slavia...

He sort of liked that name-perhaps if he did find a mate someday-he'd name her that. He made no comment back-about Machu finding him a 'male'. Slavic could find one for himself-if Machu commanded.

Yes sire...

He nodded, lowering his head to begin to graze-might as well. He worked to grind the plant matter slowly-thinking.
