So Doctors usually last 3 - 4 years before being regenerated, and I was wondering who everybody thinks would be a good Doctor when Ten goes.
I'd like to see somebody less handsome, because then the snogging and "OH DOCTOR, SHAG ME!" would stop.
Infact, I'd like Bill Nighy to be the next Doctor, because he is made of win.

Heh...Nighy's also who Russell would have as the Doctor in his ideal world. He would indeed be superb.
It'd be hard to manage the transition to an older Doctor now the new audience is so accustomed to the idea of the Doctor as a romantic lead, but however they try to follow the Tenth it's going to be a rough ride, so it might be the time to take a gamble.

My mum fancies Bill Nighy. gonk I suppose they would, but maybe then they could concentrate on weird-looking low-budget aliens and far away planets. As opposed to tarts in central London.

Can't we just wait until David says he's going before doing this!? It just feels a bit pre-emptive to me, almost as if you want David to go RIGHT NOW!!
I do know who I wouldn't mind seeing as a Doctor, but I'm happy with David.

Shangri-La` As opposed to tarts in central London. I can't think of a single story from NewWho that fits that particular description. Are you sure you're not watching something like The War Machines or The Invasion and getting mixed up?

They only really do it because Ten is fit.

[Ten]nant is leaving in 2010 (ironically), at least that's through when he's signed as of now. I would like to name someone to play the Eleventh Doctor, but I'm American stare ... Now I'm angry....

Bill Nighy would be great because, like you said, he is made of win and it would be old school.

I have a friend whos friend is part of the doctor who production team and apparently, the current favourite to succeed David is Mark Gatiss, which I think is a stupid idea but please, discuss.

I think Mark Gatiss is too old to be the next Doctor. Besides, the Doctor deserves the ladies! razz xp

Ohh, believe me. The tarts in London have NOTHING of the tarts in Essex. Oh, and the stereotypical "Essex Gal" ...*shiver*

DDD: He's definantly not too old, he's only about 5 years older than Ten. But he's not very doctor-y, comanding.
Then again, I remember when they said that Ten was gonna be the newwho, and everybody I knew HATED the idea.
I'd be sad if the Baines guy got it though, he's just a bit too young.
So it's really hard to tell.
