 Glory to the Dark Father
Background: In the world of Terra, there is only one continent that stretches from the roof of the world to its base. In the year 841, the year of the Sage, the most bountiful harvest was expected from every nation of the world. However, what occurred became the most hellish of nightmares arriving as a reality. The dead had risen, and begun to destroy and consume all life throughout the world. Small towns and settlements were wiped out almost immediately, their homes and lives becoming fuel for this horrific undead plague. As the leaders of the six remaining countries of the world scramble to offer both home and hope to refugees and the last bastion of defense against the culling that has swarmed over the mainland, their closest advisors have come to the conclusion that this "Plague of Undeath" must, in fact, be the work of a sentient being. Someone had to have planned it. Glaring out from his lair, hidden from the eyes of the unwanted, Larethorn Malagast chuckles and marvels at his work. The Plague would consume all life, and he would rule as its necromantic lord and sovereign, his subjects bound forever to his iron will. None can stop me now, Hehehehehe....

Rules and Regulations
1 ) This is a HEAVY Literate RP, so no one-liners, no "tehn he hit teh bad guyz in teh head and laffed." If I deem you are not up to snuff, you will be asked to leave the RP.
2 ) Follow Gaia ToS.
3 ) Romance is alright in this thread, but don't overdo it. Every single character couple in the game can't "fall in love at first sight", you want to do a romance thing with another player in the RP, knock yourself out, but put some effort into developing it. Also, no cybering, implicit description (meaning not saying "then they had sex", but rather "They spent the night wrapped in one another's arms, enjoying the crystalline moment with which they had created together.") is okay, but I reserve the right to hold final judgement regarding this.
4 ) NO GOD MODING. Characters who are caught God Moding more than twice, will be removed from the RP and killed in the story. If you do collaborate with another player and have their express permission to kill them, then PM me and let me know before doing it, so that I know it is okay. I personally will not permanently kill off any character without specifically messaging the person first and hearing their thoughts in regards to my plan, as sometimes it makes the story more interesting and move quicker if certain characters die.
5 ) This RP will be posted frequently and on a regular basis, characters who become inactive for more than 2 weeks will be sent a PM regarding if they are still active or not and if no response comes in after 2 days of the message, their character will be either killed or their control given to another player.
6 ) We will be operating on a timed basis, meaning no player can just fast forward through time so that they get to the point that they want. This is to assist in management of abilities and exhaustion, as well as keeping things in order. (Example: In one area of the city, it's day time and people are having a conversation. Then another person who feels like they want to move faster posts that it's night time and raining out because it fits THEIR story plan. If someone has already described a scene before your character arrives on the stage, work with it, not through it)
7 ) Do NOT post until I have reviewed your application and sent you a PM saying that it is okay to go ahead. (This will be delayed until the RP is open to the public, but accepted profiles will be posted). For the application, PM me: "Glory to the Dark Father".
8 ) Most importantly have fun. This RP is only as good as those who post in it.

Races of Terra
I ) Playable races:
1 ) Humans (Alduranians/Saristians) - The primary inhabitants of Terra, there are two nations from which the humans hail: Alduran and Saristas. The humans of Alduran are an intelligent and extremely literate group of men and women, dedicating their lives to the study of magic and sorcery. Alduran is also the home to the Cathedral of Dawn, the breeding ground of the staunchest adversaries to the swarm: the paladins. Saristian humans are bold and daring warriors and hunters who have lived their lives in the hot desert in the center of the continent, they have ever since been a nomadic tribe, though Sarista is the only thing relative to a capitol, and is the main defensive bastion against the undead in the region. (Average Age: 20-40) Racial Abilities: (Alduranian)- Voice of the Council: Active Ability. Grants persuasive powers to the user for two hours. Usable once per day. Noble Upbringing: Passive ability. Increases Intelligence and Charisma. (Saristian) - Nomadic Heritage: Passive Ability. Grants the Saristian extra speed, strength and endurance (Takes longer to become "Exhausted") Spirit of the Horseman: Active Ability. Summons a spirit horse companion to carry you wherever you may go. Lasts five hours. Usable once per day.
2 ) Elves - The dextrous and clever denizens of the forests of The Vale. These folk are the most well reputed marksmen and rogues of the world, they are also in direct commune with nature and are currently taking refuge in Toridas, the elven capitol which stands as the only barrier against the perversion of nature that besieges the world. (Average Age: 200-400) Racial Abilities- Unity with Nature: Active Ability. If the user is injured, regardless of how fatal the wound, as long as they are conscious, if they press their hand against the trunk of a living tree their ailments will fade and their wounds will close. Usable once every two days. Tracking: Active Ability. Allows the user to detect both nearby enemies and observe otherwise unnoticeable things. Usable three times per day.
3 ) Dwarves - The stocky and stalwart dwarves of the mountains reside far in the north, in the icy reaches of the Snowcrest Ridge. These people are the epitome of unmovable defenders, the strongest of warriors and also the most devoted and devout soldiers of their religion that even their priests go into battle as often as their warriors. Located in their underground citadel of Dunalgath, the dwarves fight a constant battle against the undead. (Average Age: 130-250) Racial Abilities- Stoicism: Active Ability. Able to ignore all movement inhibiting or paralysis inducing effects for one minute. Usable twice per day. Dwarven Ignorance: Passive Ability. Partial resistance to all magical schools. 4 ) Orcs - The brutish and otherwise savage orcs of the Windyreed Mountains have lain down their arms against their former enemies to face a common foe. These folk, though deemed "uncivilized" by the other races of Terra, have proven the most successful in defending their lands from the plague, as many of their smaller settlements are still intact, as is their capitol city of Destromath. (Average Age: 30-40) Racial Abilities-Frenzy: Active Ability. Allows the Orc to charge directly at an opponent with a massively increased amount of Agility and Strength. "Exhaustion" sets in five hours after the ability is used. Usable twice per day. Ancestral Spirit: Passive Ability. If killed in battle and the corpse is still intact, within one day, the Orc can come back to life. USABLE ONLY ONCE.
5 ) Halflings - The most diminuative race in all of Terra. Their capitol of Barring Downs was destroyed when the arrival of the scourge of undeath came. Since, they have taken shelter in both the homes of the Dwarves at Dunalgath and the humans of Alduran. The short folk make ideal rogues, marksmen and have even quickly learned the ins and outs of magic in their short stay in Alduran. (Average Age: 50-100) Racial Abilities-Halfling Ingenuity: Passive Ability. Agility and Intellect Increased. Halfling's Luck: Passive Ability. All attacks have an increased chance to miss against the halfling.
II ) Non Playable Races
1 ) Undead - The swarm that is consuming all of Terra, none can escape the wrath that Larethorn's abomination has created. ((I will allow TWO and ONLY TWO players to play as Undead characters, they have the same choices of class as their living counterparts, but can either be an agent of Malagast's or a zombie who has gained their free will and decided to fight against him.))
2 ) Trolls - Shamanistic and Cannibalistic heathens which wander throughout the entirety of the continent, somehow they have survived the swarm and still continue to wreak their own havoc amongst the remaining peoples.
3 ) Ogres - Enormous brutes that live within the mountains, their strength is the reversal of their intelligence, in fact it is a wonder how this many have survived this long to proliferate.
4 ) Bandits - Unbelievably enough, even in the face of the ultimate evil, there are still those who seek to harm others for personal gain.
5 ) Dragons - While no dragons have been seen in some three hundred years, there is believed to be two still in existence...

Accepted Player Profiles:Gaia Username Utsukushii Otaku Character Full Name Etheluana Telamirtha Age Appears 20 Gender Female Race Elf Appearance Etheluana is known as a cold beauty. Like her elven peers she possesses that other worldly beauty and aura that is characteristic to them. There is a noticeable difference between them though. Her luxurious locks are not golden and tawny…her eyes are not blue or green. From the roots on her head to the where it ends above her calve the hair is jet black and her eyes are the color of mist seeming almost white. They darken or lighten to reveal her mood. Her alabaster skin is visible throughout due to the filmy and weightless clothing familiar to her kind. Only when in combat will she cover that which is most natural to reveal. Personality She isn’t called a cold beauty for nothing. Her gaze when placed on someone is usually emotionless, causing the bearer of it to feel as if she could gaze into his or her soul. Her aura, the energy that surrounds each elf, also known as the andalune, does not interact with others. Elves are known to use this energy as a pair of ethereal hands using it to touch the spirits around them. Etheluana’s andalune is quite strong but she does not allow it herself to use it as the others, at least not when in the public eye. Friends? She has none. Her interests do not lie in cheap flirtations and merrymaking like her female counterparts. Her mind is inquisitive and plagued by greater amibitions, and so she is considered a loner, somewhat of an outcast, cold and distant but beautiful like a rose full of thorns. Class Markswoman Biography Etheluana was raised by her parents in a loving home just like any other child of her kind. She learned all that was needed to be productive and live peacefully with nature. Her father trained her against her mother’s wishes in the proper use of the bow and arrow. With each passing day her skill increased and eventually she became bored with the lesser skilled elves. Her parents were her world for even as a child she felt disconnected from her brethren. It didn’t help matters that her appearance was different from the others including her parents. As she grew older her curiosity as to why this was the case got the better of her and she found something she did not like. Her parents had lied to her for they weren’t her parents at all. She had been stolen from her true mother an elf who had rejected her kind and sought a more sinister life, as a way to be used against her. Like Etheluana, her mother was raven-haired. This did not matter till her mother defected and now she was a constant reminder of that fact. Knowing that her life was a lie Etheluana withdrew into herself figuring she truly was different from the rest of them. Her singsong voice though soft and appealing began to carry a cold tone to it. She refused to speak with her adopted parents and moved further from her village and deeper into the woods, the solitary world becoming a refuge. Maybe someday someone will befriend her and not judge her based on appearance. Till then she would continue to be the cold beauty. It was surprising when the dead beings began to roam the world attacking villages and somehow Etheluana found her cause, something that motivated her to live. She is now in Toridas with the rest of her brethren trying to figure out their next move.
