The sea breeze played in his mane as he stood, stationary and solidified, on the graying sands. The beach... wasn't as bright and cheery as he'd originally hoped it was when he'd first set out for his "home" earlier that morning. Sure the mid-day sun was a big help, and the chill of winter seemed to be subsiding, so that was perhaps the only real reason the winds from off the waters weren't bone chilling.
But the sand wasn't as golden as he remembered, and the waters weren't as beautiful blue... and yet, staring at them now... he was still smiling like a foal and his hoof still pawed excitedly at the sand now and then, itching to hit the waves pulsing not ten feet from him.
It might not have been the prettiest sight in the world, but it still felt rather good to be back on familiar territory. At least before he set on out again, anyways.

Mapiya sighed softly, smiling as she walked slowly along the beach. She had been wandering for the last few hours, just enjoying the new areas of the land's she found herself in.
She loved her human, but the others in the herd were rude at times. Here, there was no one to bother her. A sly faint smile crossed her face as she entered into some foal like behavior and charged at the waves nickering happily as she 'challenged' the waves.

His anxiousness paused for a moment, ears twitching and head swerving in the direction of hoofbeats on sand, and the sound of another equine having fun. And, there was! A mare, bluer than the waters on even their best days, was splashing around. And, really, looking like she was having a great time.
He hesitated, though, unsure if disturbing her would be best. Not all searched for company, and it wasn't like he was looking for conflict right now... An idea hit, one that made him feel rather idiotic -if he went into the water, if only for his own enjoyment, no problems there! So with a toss of his mane and his forelegs lashing out into the air above his head, he galloped into the pulse, the chilly water rushing over him with the smell of salt and sea vegetation and water and... well, sea stuff.
His body rocked in the waves even as he moved, looking towards the other as he was jarred by the power of the water. "I wasn't sure, anyone but foals did stunts like this. Although, it's a nice change to not be shoved over by the waves each time," he added with a laugh, shaking his head slightly as water dripped off his bangs and towards his eyes.

Mapiya squealed startled nearly slipping under the waves, when she got her feet under her, she bolted for the beach startled her golden eyes wide. Once on shore she spun to face him, her skin shivering as she stared at him, side heaving faintly.
"Don't you know it's rude to sneak up on a lady like that!"

He raised a brow, genuinely shocked by her startled nature. Had she really not noticed she wasn't alone out here? He supposed he couldn't blame her, it'd taken him a moment to see another was present himself after all. He walked slowly from the waves, dripping salty droplets from fur coat and mane and tail alike.
Bowing his head, he stretched out his right foreleg, bending his left as he lowered himself into a bow. "I beg your pardon, Miss. I hadn't intended to startle you, simply enjoy the waters." He straightened, returning to his full height, a gentle smile on his face. "In the same breath, you startled me before, though. I wasn't aware there was anyone else here until you ran into the surf. Not that I'm complaining, it's nice to see others still enjoy the beach." His voice was kept light, cheery, though he kept a respectful distance from the mare still.

Mapiya shook her mane out with a sheepish smile " I beg your pardon. I was deep within my thoughts when you spoke, and well truth between us, a bit shamed to see another adult catching me at such juvenile behavior."
Her smile was sweet and easy as she cocked her head " Forgive me for my rudeness. I am Mapiya, and might I have you name good sir?" Her golden eyes flashed with hidden mirth. She defiantly seem to have a easy going mood once she got over her fright.

Jaci chucked. "Why would you be ashamed? So you enjoy the water, I see no fault in that. It's not like you were the only one making a fool of yourself." A friendly grin, and his stance relaxed as it became happily clear the mood of their conversation would maintain a kind stream. To be stressed and tense would do none good... and to be honest, he wasn't in much of a mood now to be sharp edged and proper. Since he'd already been caught acting like a foal, why should he suddenly jump into the skin of an adult?
Minus the fact he was one, given.
"Rudeness shared, I regret to say. I am Jaci, Ms. Mapiya. If I may, your name is... very unique. I haven't heard one like it before." Alright, so he might still talk like a gentlestallion, but that was a requirement when speaking to anyone knew, regardless of what they saw! Means less chance of offending others, as an added bonus.
Plus, this mare was rather enjoyable to talk to. Why ruin it? "So what has brought you out this way, by chance? Mindless wanderings around the two-legger dwelling I sometimes reside by on my part... but I wonder if we walked a similar path? Or did you have a purpose in coming this way?" An honest smile, relaxed form, pleasant tone -to say he was thrilled with his chance decision would be very much an understatement at this point.

Mapiya chuckled good naturedly , her tail swishing merrily as she approached the water once more. " Truth be told I live not far from here with my herd and our two-legged. And please call me Mapiya, it is to nice a day to be too formal."
