Well, most of the other instruments (especially this one Trombonist) hates my section, the Percussionists. They say we're the least important; we can't do anything "right". We're annoying, and if we weren't there, the whole band would sound "mucho better." Also, they say that playing the drums are so easy, they can do it much better than us. -.- Ha, they don't know anything about percussion if they think they can actually play it without learning the basics and stuff.

Yeah, of course, me as a mallet player, I have Ragged on the snare drums......thats just because u haven't met our battery percussion... But just about everyone in the Middle school band love the percussion{instruments}, They just don'y realize that after 4 years, it gets boring playing all the different, thats Y I switched to moving notes, the Mallets.

In our band, many sections have their rivalries. However, the most defined one I've noticed since middle school that still survives in high school is between the alto saxophones and trumpets. I'm not entirely sure why it exists, but the two sections are always ragging at each other. The woodwinds often side with the saxes, and the brass with the trumpets, and occasionally scales into an all-out war. The pit remains neutral.

Sadly we have no pit... But we have mostly just one large rivalry between woodwinds and brasswinds.
During marching band the Trombones (me) have a rivalry with those lazy no-good trumpets.

Our band has one of the best known drumlines in the country...they're sponsored by pearl and vic firth and the guy who runs it even has his own line of sticks (Thom Hannum)...so the whole band is pretty well known, but the drumline especially is top notch.
Now, I don't play drums, and there are some alumnae from my section who would probably shoot me for praising them, but I'm a trumpet. 2nd Trumpet currently to be exact. And, as all of you probably know, trumpets tend to be loud, somewhat obnoxious and usually (at least in our band) at the front of the field in the center of attention. So, with an amazing drumline and a bunch of attention-hogging trumpets, evidently before I came there was a pretty massive rivalry between the trumpets and "phi beta delta" (AKA the drumline). A few years before I came some people evidently even went as far as to paint a hog (the trumpet section's mascot) over the phi in the drumline's traditional "phi beta delta" that they paint on the hill overlooking the practice field every year.
...Luckily most of the rivalry has died down since, but last year when I was a freshman trumpet on the front sidelines the bass drums would run me over every time during one drill, and I found myself fenced in with quads after a scatter more than once... sweatdrop
