New Event:: Who did what where and when?
Starts:: Now Ends:: When it's solved. _______________________________________________________
He shook his head, snarling to himself as he puttered around the shop. Several things were missing, but one item in particular. Wondering briefly if Tyler was playing a trick on him again, Nicodemus growled about the bratty children of the wood.
"Puck needs to keep them in line!" he snapped, shoving the box of dolls to the side in his search for for his missing things. When he realized that several other items had vanished from the next two boxes in the storeroom, the old satyr grumbled more.
"Where are those things? I know they were here!" he snorted in anger. "If it's the children again playing their tricks, I'll beat them within an inch of their lives. I'm getting tired of this! And if it's that Trickster, he'll get a few choice words from me also!"
Finally in true exasperation, he snarled at the top of his lungs. "Whomever took my things had better return them, or I'll chew them up and spit them out!"
His voice echoed out the open shop door and into the area causing all those moving through the glade to stop and blink. Someone had made Old Nick spitting mad. That was not good. Many scattered as the old satyr charged out the doorway.
"Someone better find them quick!" he yelled again. ____________ Someone has stolen some things from the storeroom in Old Nick's shop. Who did it? Where are they? What did they take? And what are you going to do to catch them and bring peace back to the glade again?
1. Figure out what happened and watch for clues. 2. When you think you know who did it, then post it similar to CLUE. Example: Puck did it to cause trouble. He hid the (items) in the (first cave at the edge of the wood). 3. We will reply if you are correct or not. If wrong, we keep going. If right, the quest ends, rewards are given and Nicodemus gets his stuff back. 4. Remember that anything you do not witness or see personally may only be hearsay. It is up to you to sort the truth from the lies or what is that person's point of view.
I'll post rewards as soon as I figure them out with Chae. This is the second quest and should be fun with the new critters around.

Old Nick's bellowing could be heard as far away as the waterfall where the two unicorns liked to spend time. Chael and Angeni looked at each other, curious and concerned. "Uh oh, something's upset Old Nick. I've never heard him so angry!" said Chael."He'sssss sssssurely worked up over sssssomething," agreed Yss."Well, I think he was yelling about someone taking something of his," Angeni added. "Whoever it was had better return Old Nick's property or we'll all pay for it big time.""Maybe we should go find some of the other creatures to see if anyone knows more about this. You are right, Angeni, there will be big problems if Old Nick stays this upset," ventured Chael.Neveah just fluttered around, too nervous to alight on anything.

Ichinaou had been trotting along through the woods when he heard the sudden shout of the old Satyr. His leg was finally healed, but the shouts had caught him off guard and tumbling backwards where he fell right into a unicorn. He got up and bowed at the unicorn, hoping she would realize that he was apologizing.
The unicorn laughed at the little Iguion, "Do not fret, there was no harm done." She used her tail to brush off some of the dirt that had gotten into Ichinaou's fur. "I believe you are called Ichinaou, right?"
Ichinaou looked at her strangely not knowing how she had known his name, but nodded his head to tell her she was right.
"Pleasure to meet you then, I am Uniciphina, shall we go see what old nick is all riled up about?"
Ichinaou shook his head vigoriously, he did not want to have to deal with that Satyr. In truth he sort of scared him.
"It's okay, I shall be there with you, you have nothing to fear." She began to walk through the woods with Ichinaou following closely at her side.

Everett had been sleeping quietly, until Nicodemus had started yelling. "There's never a quiet moment, in these woods," he grumbled. Riona hopped around for a better look, but wasn't having any luck.

Skye sat quietly playing with Striker. She had just found her new friend and they were becoming closer than she had expected. Edana was hovering closely admiring him as well. That is a very cute lizard you have Skye. "His name is Striker. Do you really like him?" Skye has never been one for talking much. And considering that Edana doesn't have to speak to get her point across, the two of them seldom talk much. Then suddenly, from across the wood came a loud, booming sound. "What was that?" I don't know. It sounds like someone has done wrong by Old Nick. "Should we go check it out? Striker, will you come along with me?" Feeling confident with her new companion, they began a new adventure...

Riona bowed her head. "No luck. I can't see through the other things blocking the windows," she said. "Worry, you should not. Tried hard, you did," Everett responded.

Gailen rested in the shade of a low hanging tree. He was new here, and wasn't quite sure of himself yet. However, he had been playing a mock game of hide and seek with a little red and yellow bird that had fluttered to rest in this tree. He would duck his head behind a branch, and the bird would swoop down, peek over the branch and twitter merrily at him before flitting back up higher to let him 'hide' again.
When the outraged bellow of the old saytr who was in charge of the shop interrupted their game, Gailen poked his head out from between the trailing leaves. What was up? He could see Old Nick standing in the door of his shop, yelling about someone returning what they had taken from him, or there would be trouble. Gailen sat up straighter as the formidable shopkeeper barreled his direction, face contorted with his fury.
Gailen took two steps from under the tree, leaving half his wings and all his tail underneath the leaf-fall. The little bird did not hide either, chittering curiously and landing on his back, hopping forward to sit atop his head and eye Nicodemus brightly.
"What was taken? What should I look for?" This was about all Gailen could think to call. His head sank lower and lower as Nicodemus got closer. Goodness, but the saytr was intimidating!

Nicodemus growled again in irritation.
"I have two boxes of things missing from yesterday. Both are empty. I just got them delivered." he snarled. "Whoever did it knows what happened? I want to know how they got in. And I want my things returned! Bah!"
Turning he walked back into the shop to begin straightening up the things there.
Here is a description of the immediate area.
The shop is situated in a very, very large hollow tree but a portion had been built onto it in the back. The roots around the tree were often out of the ground and very knobby. Old Nick lives upstairs in rooms over the shop and storeroom. There are two doors that lead into the place.
Around the glade are others walking here and there. Some are talking and others are watching what is happening in amusement. There is a centaur standing at the back of the glade. Three chirras are speaking to each other on the left. An apos is talking to a great hawk while a stagg shakes her head at the unicorn. Two firebirds are sitting in the branches looking rather irritated since the bellowing of Nicodemus woke them up. A celoshaman is instructing 3 young celopes. 2 mudges and a bunyip are prowling at the perimeter of the glade. Two satyrs are talking as they sit nearby on the ground.+++++++++++++++++++ You have several choices at this point. You can band together for this or go separate ways or even separate to join later with the clues you have found. Happy hunting!! 1. To follow Old Nick inside and face his bellowing to find out what happened and who took what from him. Look for clues inside his shop. 2. To look around the shop on the outside and see if anything looks broken into. Out of place or odd in any way. 3. To talk to each person and to find out if they know anything. You may not control what any of the npcs say unless you want to NOT hear what they have to say. Anything beyond that will be used as a clue whether it is a lie or not. Anything they tell one person another will not know unless they are standing within hearing distance. ((Feel free to discuss this OOC to plan your attack at the problem on this thread. And this quest is going to take awhile to figure out.))

((I'm willing to band together with someone. I work best in a team anyway.)) Everett looked around to look for familiar faces with the Firebird incident, and also to eye possible suspects. One name popped into his head though, and he was pretty suspicious of the Wyrm, Nefar.

Edana suddenly seemed irritated. I can hear you feathers. Nefar would not do such a thing. He may cause problems here or there, but not something this big. Skye, however could not agree with Edana. "You don't know that. You don't know much about that one. Strange he is."

Ack! Out of my head, you must stay! Everett thought. He turned to Edana and hooted a few times at her, while Riona went over to Skye to see what she was doing.

Gailen quailed and ducked back under the sweeping branches. He scurried to peer out a different side when Nick disappeared back into the shop. He saw various people talking together, but didn't approach them. He eyed the hollow tree the store was located in around the shelter of the dripping leaves. The satyr seemed safely encsconsed inside once more.
Quietly he emerged once more from his tree and trotted to the entrance to the shop. He stopped there and examined the ground. Much too many footprints, he decided. Slowly he padded counterclockwise around the tree away from the front door. He carefully looked at the exposed, gnarled roots. Surely somewhere around here there was a clue as to what was taken, or who had taken it!
In the midst of his looking, he cast an uneasy eye at the mudges and bunyip. They really unsettled him, big and strong as he was!

((Nefar is NOT an NPC in this. What he says is only a player reaction. ))
Flying in low over one treebranch and then under the next, he startled the firebirds with a smirk on his face. Landing his claws digging in slightly, he glanced around. There was alot of activity going on here at the moment. Folding his wings back against his body, he looked around. Most were talking quietly but others were acting as if they were snooping around about something.
He raised an eyebrow. It was a good day to come to the glade if there was trouble going on. Maybe he'd find some amusement here. There'd been none on the plateau.
Then he noted the centaur on the edge of the glade. He was new to the area and the first one that Nefar had seen. Perhaps he'd find some amusement in that one later.
Then he saw Gailen. Blinking in surprise, he watched him a moment. He'd grown a bit. Walking up behind him, he tilted his head a moment and then said, *Gailen, what are you doing?*

Chael and Angeni pondered what to do. They had headed in the direction of the commotion and come upon a scene of worried creatures. From some of the chatter they discovered why Old Nick was so angry.
"Many of the others are trying to figure out who stole Old Nick''s belongings. Maybe we should help," suggested Angeni.
"Well let''s start by examining the surrounds of the store, then we could ask the others if they know anything," agreed Chael.
((If anyone wants their creature to interact with mine, feel free. I''m happy to band together! And I''d love if anyone could put links to their pets in their posts, I have trouble remembering what sort of creature I am talking to.))

Gailen jumped slightly and swung his head around to look up at the question and grinned. Nefar was the closest thing he had to a friend here, and he was glad to see him.
"I am looking for clues," he said simply. "Old Nick has had some things stolen, and I was hoping to find some evidence of the nabbers somewhere around the tree." He peered again around the tree root he was straddling, hic head swiveling nimbly on his long neck so he could peer into a hollow space under a gnarl there.
"Would you like to help me? Finding mischief-makers should be a nice switch for you." He looked up again with a wicked gleam of teasing in his eye. He felt SO much more comfortable now that his big-brotherish friend was around. "This time you didn't make the mischief!"
