Snow drifted lazily from the sky to coat rocks and foliage in a thick, white powder which fell to the ground with a dull thud when it grew too heavy for the leafless branches of trees to support. The snow formed a delicate slush at the edge of the river which made its way through the Snowdrop Mountains, and ice formed a thin layer on the water just past the snow slush. It was not quite cold enough to freeze everything. Some especially hardy plants survived which was fine by Starscream - she was hungry, and currently, she was willing to eat just about anything that appeared edible. The problem was finding it. Balancing precariously on a snow-covered rock, she leaned over to peer into the cold water in the hopes that the water was not so cold that she could not find any fish. To make matters worse, she had a hungry, carnivorous chinua waiting for her back at her den. Frenzy had insisted on going with her, but Starscream forbade it - she knew snow hurt his hooves and could not carry him the whole time if she was to remain hopeful of finding a decent meal. If no fish were to be found, she would have to dredge up a mouse for Frenzy and chew on tree bark herself, and neither was a particularly appealing thought. Surely there was something edible around here.

Blaster had been just about to give in his hope, and chuck up this day as another meal-less day. he didn't know why it was becoming so dificult to find good food, he usually didn't have a problem with that, being either skilled at finding it, or just lucky. either way, he was thinking that he could really use some of that skill or luck right about now. arms crossed over his chest as he shuffled though the snow watching hit boots as they uncovered the ground below, not really paying attention to anything, so it was probably just waiting to happen when he sudenly bumped into a tree. stumbling back blinking in surprise, before he frowned and rubbed the forehead of his helmet. lowering it suddenly and glancing around the tree as he noticed something. optics glowing brighter as he saw a female Mech Minya crouched by the river.

Starscream bent over further for a moment before she straightened with a sigh. Mice and tree bark it was. She knew there were some trees around here which bore fruit in winter - the problem was finding them, and she did not have time for that anymore today.
She frowned sharply and turned around when she heard a sound behind her, and she could not help but blink stupidly a few times upon noticing the mech minya who had not been there before. She should not have been too surprised though - she was pushing the Minyabot borders a little in her search for food.
Still, Starscream tried not to show it and instead stood swiftly and flipped her tail haughtily as she stepped down from the rock. She only vaguely recognized the minya before her, and two words immediately sprung to mind: loud and obnoxious. Wonderful. Maybe she could get away before he became a pest.

he seemed to have startled her... though her face didn't exactly seem all that startled, annoyed maybe? he knew he had seen this Mech Minya before, not very often, and he was pretty sure she was not a Minyabot, if anything her reaction to seeing him proved that. it was fortunate Blaster liked others, it might be dificult for him to get others to like him but at least he liked others. she was probably looking for food like him, so he saw no reason to try and chase her away. misery likes company as they say... though... Blaster was not really that miserable yet. "well dang. an here I thought I had his aria to myself. Guess it ain't that hot a spot if two Minya can't find a decent mean in it eh?" he said, stepping out from behind the tree, hands on his hips and grinning

Starscream huffed in reply, "I was just leaving." Blue hands rested on her own red hips as her coal grey ears pressed back slightly. Wonderful - he was right between her and the path back to her den. She supposed she could just shove past him, but then that might prompt him to follow her, and that was the last thing she needed.
"There's nothing here anyway," Starscream growled softly, and her stomach rumbled as if in agreement. She could not believe there were not even any fish...

Well she sure didn't seem very friendly, but when she put her hands on her hips, Blaster kinda stopped caring; she sure did make up for it in looks. “I wouldn’t say that” he spoke once she voiced wanting to leave because of the lack of food, glancing around the aria, finding it hard to back up his claim when not even he could find something to eat “You’ll have better luck here then anywhere else.” He informed her, also not entirely sure that was true. He was not def to the rumbling of her stomach, and after eying it for a moment he looked back up at her dark face. “Four eyes are better then two” he offered, lifting his hands off his hips and holding his palms up in a shrug before he let them drop again.

Begrudgingly, Starscream had to admit he had a point. She already knew this was the best area to find food, and he had the right idea - maybe together they could scrounge up something edible. The sooner she found food, the sooner she could get out of the area before she was spotted again. At least he was not chasing her away as she was quite sure other Minyabots might have.
"Fine," she grumbled and shifted her feet uncomfortably when her stomach once again voiced its emptiness.

IT WORKED! Sweeeeet! Blaster grinned when she agreed, straining his back a bit more and lifting one of his hands, giving her a gesture for her to come on down and follow him. giving a light chuckle when he heard her stomach grumble. he could certainly relate, being quite hungry himself. "C'mon down, food ain't ganna come to us." with that he turned and started shuffling his feet around the snow, going further into the forest as he looked around, the music from his chest increasing in volume.

Starscream's dark ears flattened at the noise coming from Blaster, but she decided to endure it for now. If he could truly help her find some food, listening to the noise he called "music" was a small price to pay. At least he had not run her off the way she expected him to since she was in Minyabot territory. In fact, none had tried to run her away from Minyabot territory in a long time, and much as the thought angered her, she suspect it stemmed from pity. After all, as far as she knew, she was the only remaining Deceptiminya.
Starscream shook her head and focused on following Blaster. Dwelling on that subject would only anger her and make it more difficult for her to concentrate on looking for food.

Blaster continued though the snowy forest, walking content to his music, but breaking off his search for the mushrooms every now and then to glance over his shoulder to the Femme following him. he felt rather proud of himself, this set up was perfect. though what he was going to do now, he wasn't sure, but perhaps this would give him a chance to get to know her a little better. she seemed... interesting enough,
grinning he turned back to search the ground, ears slicked back as he lowered himself down onto his hands, shuffling though the snow, and peering up into the bear trees. "keep yer optics lit, best spot here" he told her. no soon had he done that though when his gaze fell upon something poking out of the base of the tree he had been searching. earing fanning forward curiously, he strawed to paw the snow aside to uncover his discovery

Starscream stepped up behind him and balanced on the tips of her toes to keep her turbines out of the snow as much as she could. The last thing she needed was rust in her precious thrusters. "What is it?" she asked over the rumbling of her stomach, but she need not have bothered. As soon as she peered around the horns on Blaster's helmet, she saw the mushrooms, large with bright purple caps, and as soon as she recognized them as mushrooms, her stomach growled again, and her mouth began to water. "Are those edible?"

"That.. is a good Question" he said as he reached down to one of the mushrooms, and plucking it up from the stem. straightening his back a bit turning it slowly as he examined it, making sure to hold it where she could see it as well. from the colors he was not so certain it was a good idea, though it did ring a bell... some of the other Autominya might have been talking about them while he was busy playing his music or something. "don't think so..." leans forward and gives it a couple of sniffs, pondering for a another moment before he shrugged and popped it in his mouth, chewed, swallowed... and waited. "... I don't feel dead"

Starscream watched him closely for a long moment until she was satisfied. Surely, if it was poisonous, he would have had a reaction already. "Good enough for me," she muttered and snatched a mushroom for herself, eating it ravenously. She still needed to find something for Frenzy, but surely she could find some worms by the stream - something to hold him over until tomorrow. Right now though, she grabbed a handful of mushrooms since they tasted okay and made short work of them.
