Eztil yawned, taking a rest from his traveling for a little while. His mind traveled back to Coaxoch again and again... the lonliness that he had never felt kicking in yet again. He had been hurt in the first few months without her, because for the first time he had been really alone. Now, however, he was met with a bit of a bigger problem... he was a con-man, but he had always worked in a group of two. Now he was at one. He knew he could make it on his own if he wanted too... but still, this was simply unacceptable. Half of his favorite tricks required two. When his sister had a mate, and children, they had all worked together.
He had always been in charge. Always made great plans. And now what was he stuck with? One. Limited resources. And, as far as he supposed a lion like him was capable of having, a broken heart. Which again, was unacceptable. He needed to move on. Find a new partner, or maybe think of some new heists he could do with just one.
...But Coaxoch had been smart, her mate had been strong, their children had been devious. It was a shame that all of that tallent had gone to waste. For months he had had no choice but to do everything himself. And though he would never, frankly, trust any other lion like he had his sister... he needed to find someone he could use as a suitable partner. At least temporarily.

Kioo'vunjika was in a mental state of anger. But then again for the past year, he had permanently been in that state of mind. Kicked out of the pride you were originally supposed to rule and spoiled rotten could do that to a cavity of a lion like Kioo. He survived because a sense of revenge and justice had kept him so ...until Justice "reared its ugly head" and punished him for his deeds. The lioness had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. He wasn't his fault he had "raped" her ...although really it was more like seduction because as far as he knew, she never said no.
This whole good deed thing wasn't something he really wanted to do. In this past nine months living with this curse, he was only at deed twenty-nine. It wasn't very much at all. It was a long and arduous process. And he really just wanted to forget all about it and live his life the way he was supposed to.

Eztil finally yawned and stretched out. He was getting sick of his own moping. It was pathetic, and frankly, if Coaxoch could see him in a state like that, she would ask him what was wrong... and then when she found out, promptly kill him. It was getting riddiculous. He needed to do what he was good at. Raise a little Hell. After all, misery loved company, and he was in the mood to share his a little. Making other people absolutly miserable had always been something that generally made him feel better.
It was around this decision that he saw Kioo'vunjika, who appeared to be in the same state of moping. After spending his whole life tricking lions, Eztil had made a point of making sure he knew them. And that lion was pissed. He was already starting to feel better.
He thought for a little while, on ways to approach this situation. Go in as a potential friend, cheer him up, and then do something to bring down the sky on his head like the other male had never believed? Hum... tempting. Perhaps he would play the friend, find out as much as he could about said lion and go from there... that was more promising. To completely destroy someone else, first one had to know their weaknesses.
How fun.
"Hello there stranger." Eztil said from his position, sitting under a small cluster of trees. The epitomy of polite, high-standing trustworthyness. He had always been so good at pretending to be friendly... one of his better skills, in his opinion.

Kioo prided himself on being a man and that meant a couple things like never letting others get at you when you're upset ...much let them know you were. And a good defensive was always a good offensive. "Hello yourself," he replied not too politely. He was in no mood to converse with a dandy. If lions wore clothes, he'd be able to spot them more clearly in their frills. Sadly, it usually involved interactions like this one to even find out if they were.
With a bored and disinterested look, he turned away. "I'll be going now. You enjoy yourself." He rolled his eyes. Why him? Why? Not like the lion needed saving so why did he have to even be near him?
The reason seemed a little clearer than that. He liked being upset and grumpy at the world. He liked playing victim. Because then it was the world who had a problem and not them. So being upset, grumpy, and mean suited him just fine. That also meant it came to him quite easily and with great vivaciousness, if that was possible for such an emotional - or mental - state.
Oh go suck on a rock. It was on the tip of his tongue, on the verge of getting out. Why oh why was he holding back?

Amazing, was all Eztil could think of as a word, how much one could tell from so few words. Like the fact that his new-found friend... or rather, person to con and use... was in just as bad a mood as he was. Well now, he couldn't have that. There was no use in making someone feel crappy when they already did. No, no, no... it simply wouldn't do. No fun at all for someone like Eztil.
"You seem like the inward thinking type my friend. It isn't healthy. You could really hurt yourself, acting like that." Of course, reasonably speaking, by pressing a lion in such a bad mood, he could try to hurt Eztil. But he was used to having other lions seriously wanting him dead. He just wanted to push and prod... and at the very least be sure that this lion felt just as bad as he did.
As far as Eztil was concerned, this new lion was just another big, very stupid, olf he would have to teach a lesson. Whether or not that was true, well, that would just have to be seen.

He paused, his face drawn into a face that quite resembled a sleepy face trying to express interest. In fact, it was much the face of a disinterested person. He didn't want to really associate himself with such a "fine fellow". "Well, what if I thought I was a blade of grass? Now wouldn't that be something to keep to oneself? Wouldn't want everyone to think I'm crazy, eh? I'm as healthy as a piece of pie and I like it that way."
He squinted at the other male. Something wasn't right about him. It wasn't like he could so easily place it as to wave his hand and go "wha-la~! there is the problem." But he could easily enough tell that there was either something wrong with this male ...or there was more to him. "What's got you anyways? Runnin' around like the appointed psychologist to every bloke who walks by and wants nothing to do with you. You happy, bubbly people don't know what you're in for, do ya? I bet the moment you do somethin' bad, they'll come at you too. So annoying with your 'howdy-do' that they'd do their best to shut you up."
Of course, Kioo was referring to his own situation. About how a goddess had decided she didn't like his course of actions and had decided to curse him. And of course, Kioo didn't see himself as selfish and despicable as she did. So he rightly assumed they gave out this sorts of curses for fun, preying on mortals they just don't like.

Very cute, was the thought that came to Eztil's mind... but then, he was like that. Anyone he saw as his lesser was only a child, either waiting to blossum into someone worth while... or something to be destroyed before it infected the world with it's stupidity. This one... well, Eztil couldn't say yet that he was smart, but he wasn't an idiot, probably just in a poor mood. And nothing made his day like a bad mood. Still... useable maybe? Angry, that was for certain. Angry was amusing. Eztil liked angry. It gave him happy feelings inside.
"Well... I certainly wouldn't call myself an appointed psychologist..." He laughed a little, and he let something slide. A bit, just a touch, of his inner-sadism, which leaked out on his voice. The touch of someone who didn't want to help people at all. Someone who wanted, more than anything, to hurt them. Most lions wouldn't notice it. "Nor would I call myself bubbly. I'm just a traveler...looking for a little... entertainment, shall we say? Perhaps you can save me from my boredom."

Kioo raised his head so that he had to look down his muzzle at the other. "I'm listening." he said. He didn't know what he might be getting himself into. However, it seemed like he needed to hear this guy out to get rid of him. Whether or not it interested him would depend. And Kioo was a businessman to a certain degree so he might be of some use if he felt like it.
Kioo himself sought a way to escape a boredom of his own but usually he was too lazy to do anything about it other than gripe. That was another skill he had. Of course, he was willing to veer away from his habits for the right price ...or deal.

Eztil smiled a little. There were two possible options here... one, he found a temporary partner, two... he had found someone he could injure in as much a mental way as he could. However, Kioo likely outpowered him physicly... which meant he could be very useful. The powerful could always be used by the intelligent. That was why they existed... though whether or not Kioo was smart, in Eztil's line of thinking, was yet to be seen.
"I'm a sort of business man by nature... I work in the art of..." He tilted his head slightly, "Shall we say... negotiating what belongs to others into my own possession. I'm looking to hire some... temporary help." Now, depending on how Kioo took that, things could get very interesting. If he seemed offended by it, Eztil could say he had mistaken what he had meant to say... if he sounded interested, then this would be very fun.
He did miss the two-lion con... though he prefurred female partners, Kioo would do nicely for a short period of time.

Kioo looked at him and blinked. "So you steal?" he shook his head and laughed. It was just a little ridiculous. "I didn't know anyone had anything valuable enough to steal. I mean, except maybe like pride royalty" ...like his uncle.
He looked down at himself amused. "And I certainly don't have anything you could want." He shook his head again. The male wanted his help for thievery. Again, what was there to steal? And secondly, was he trying to make Kioo his go-to guy? Because Kioo was nobody's messenger boy ...nor was he a delivery boy. He let out a short laugh, "my help? Now my help depends on what you're looking for."

Eztil snorted. Perhaps this lion didn't have any brains at all. Or perhaps he was playing dumb. He made a special attempt never to underestimate people... and usually over-estimated them, which was fine with him. It was more fun to plan that way.
"Steal? Please, you make it all sound so coy. I never steal anything, others simply end up giving me what they want. If they think they're getting a good deal out of it, who am I to say anything different? But I don't simply take things like a common theif." He grinned at the other lion, the touch of sadism back in his look, "And other lions have plenty of valuable things, depending on what you count as being valuable. Jewlery, shiney things, God's tokens... these are one form of value. Food, shelter, protection, care... all of these are forms of... what would you say? Worth? Why do anything at all when you can simply make others do it for you?"
He turned and faced Kioo, "But the one issue with this is... it works best when there are two. I had a partner, up until recently, who assisted me... and is no longer availible. I am looking for someone to... assist me, alibet temporarily, to whom I would split the valuables I find say... fifty-fifty?" Or, if this lion proved to be less-than-helpful, maybe 70/30, not that he would ever find out.

He cocked a brow with a look on his face that almost suggested he was quite expensive. "Well, I suppose~ I could help you," he said. "Of course, that's always an excellent motto; one I have often enjoyed living quite often. As to whether jewelry or other such baubles are valuble I'll be the judge of later on." He fully knew what he was saying and knew the other lion did too. He was basically saying if he didn't like the treasure, he wouldn't take any. But rather, sort of consider the whole event as a sort of crash course in the art of thievery, or whatever more suave word the other decided to give it. "Deal?"

"I would consider that to be perfectly reasonable." Eztil smirked, before he began to walk off, "Since you're a beginner, we'll start with something simple enough... no one ever said this business was easy." Which it was, for someone like Eztil who had been forced to learn it early on in his life. He wouldn't give away his favorite cons... first of all, because Kioo was a beginner, and second of all, because he would only share those with a lion he trusted... which likely wouldn't happen again soon. "You can call me Eztil, by the way."

Kioo cocked a brow. "Alright," he agreed easily enough. "Likewise, you can call me Kioo." He briefly wondered what he was getting himself into. It was definitely something deep and not too healthy for a guy with a curse judging the amount of life he had left. But he quickly dismissed said thoughts to dark corners of his mind where the microphones were turned off and they'd be forced to work by candle light. Kioo wanted to see what this guy was up to. And Kioo was always up to do something fun. It only depended on the interpretation of fun.

"Kioo..." Eztil said aloud, before he nodded, "Excellent. First, here are some basic rules... I will tell you what to do, if you have questions, ask them, because there is nothing worse than something going wrong on a job. Second, unless something in a plan goes horribly wrong, you will do exactly what I tell you, alright?" He had to make those two things clear, in advance. He didn't like it when things went horribly wrong. And usually, something was bound to, but until something did, he liked his plans to be followed. Not ignored.
