Setting: The cliffs are almost sheer; and the rivers and streams fall from the top in many shimmering, dancing veils of light. There are infinate nooks and crannys, and even full cave systems hidden behind them; and there are many pools on the way down, surrounded by grass and wild flowers. The top is similarly astrewn with vegetation; here the grass is very lush and delicious. It's a small haven with a fantastic view.Kahn stood close to the edge; peering over at the world below, his eyes wide. He had snuck away from his mother again and was now spell-bound by the view; the sound of rushing water, the lush grass beneath his tiny hooves- so much to see, to experience! He felt excitement well in his chest and spread his small wings out, balencing himself carefully so he could examine the view without worry.

Moving up the the cliffs, Soliel sighed lightly she had run into no one whom she could play with in some time. And even worse she had not seen her adopted brother in almost that same amount of time. To put it simply she was lonely and bored out of her mind. Snorting Soliel shook her head at her own laziness. She needed to get out and find some friends and that was exactly what she was doing. Huffing to blow her almost glowing green mane away from her eyes, Soliel turned her gaze from the ground to the edge of the cliffs. " Little one you should not be so close to the edge"

Kahn had heard the footfalls; but had assumed it was his mother, catching up with him. However, the stranger's voice startled him; and he wobbled slightly, his ringed eyes widening before his wings flared out wider and helped him balence. He shuffled backwards from the edge, reluctantly tearing his gaze from the view to settle on the stranger. And she really was strange; to his young eyes; mainly used to his snowy-white and grey mother, and seeing his own reflection, he was momentarily taken aback by her bright markings. So vivid! "Wow, your fur's so many bright colours!" he said, his stormy-blue eyes wide. He didn't sense any hostility from her; so just said what was on his mind.

"Why thank you little one... I've always been colored so, as if some one tossed paint upon me" Smiling softly, Soliel bowed her head in greating. Letting her gaze dance over the little one her smile grew slowly. " You looke like a bird I think..." Blinking the mare smiled once again. her mind wandering off for a moment. " I think I've seen a bird that looks like you anyways"

...Paint? The little foal stuck out his lower lip; he had no idea what that was. Still, he shrugged; and looked along his own small body. Grey until the sun hit it, where it shone white... He was fond of his own fur, and beamed at her words. He spread out his wings. "Thass 'cause I have wings like a bird!" he exclaimed; his eyes closed in glee. "I can't fly like one yet, though; but I will one day." The last part was said in a confidential tone; head tilted to the side, his eyes open again and gleaming.

---------------------
Kahn still loved the cliffs; the falling, sparkling waters; the small plateus with lush vegetation. He had learned much here, about which fruits tasted good and which turned your stomach; about the lives of other animals, and the way they reacted to him. It seemed there was always something new to see, something to find. But now the teenaged pegasus had someone else to teach about what he had learned. Kahn frowned; he hoped he was up to the task.
