Wowza. These kids are finding new and sadly sick ways to beg for gold. I got a PM from some random person saying Quote: hi. i just got out of the hospital. i was sick. i need gold for my quest. help me? WTF? I have a few comments on this: 1: I highly doubt this kid just got out of the hospital, they just want some idiot to fall for it and give them gold. Thats a new low. 2: I really wish instead of just replying 'no' I would have thought to reply with something like this "Really? Well I'm in the hospital right now. And I'm not getting out anytime soon. Consider yourself lucky to be out of the hospital because people like me arn't as lucky as you and will be in here for a long time, if we ever are healthy enough to get out." ...I wonder what kind of response that would get? I'd hope it would make them feel like crap for lying and begging. Mabey someone else will try to beg like that and I'll get the chance to fake them out. lol

Good idea for a reply, but unfortunately they, like almost everyone on this planet, probably only cares about their own feelings, and doesn't give a rat's a** about anyone but themselves. sad

My response would be:
Well if you just got out of the hospital, you´re probably bed ridden or close to it... so you have enough time to make up the gold yourself.

I can only think of witty replies after I have already sent a stupid, simple one. I accually want someone else to beg at me using the 'hospital' gimmick. Too bad it'll take a while for it to catch on and other kids to start doing that. At least I'll have a few good reply ideas for when/if the time comes.

Actually, I've heard that particular lie before, but thankfully it seems most people on this site consider that going a LITTLE too far. But there are other such sob stories, and I'm sure you'll get some of those. whee

I have been a member since Gaia first started and I'm a good person who doesn't lie so you should donate your Demonic Pendant to me because I lost mine and I lost my OMG, my Demonic scarf, and my demon horns, and my kiki, etc, ect, and 300,000 gold I had been saving. And since you have so many nice items the least you can do is give me your Demonic Pendant, or mabey your Demonic pitchfork, either would be cool." Like I fricken owe them something because I have nice items. b***h whatever, I got these when they were new items and still hella cheap, I would be a rich Gaian if I sold them all now but its not going to happen and I'm not about to give my stuff to some greedy, spoiled brat who isn't used to not getting everything they want. Most of the time those people have only been members for like 5 days. And when you call them on it they say 'this is my mule account' and refuse to give you their 'real account' screen name. I got that message a year or so ago and I still remember the fact that the little brat got angry at me for saying no and started to flame me and threatened to 'tell on me'. lmao. Stupid kids.

Most of the time, as soon as I realise what it is, I just stop reading. confused Saying anything at all is just fuel for their fire.

Someone hacked yet another one of my accounts. I went though a long process of password recovery just to get my password reset. Only to find the password had probably been changed by the person who hacked me, and guess what they were using this almost bare account for... Begging! I checked my messages and the a*****e who hacked me wrote really lame, noob messages to people begging for stuff & money (500.000 gold, seriously!) kinda like you discribed above. mrgreen People piss me off so bad sometimes. BTW/ Still absolutly no word from Gaia about my first hacked account. I didn't even bother reporting the second one.

Anjeni: It takes gaia a year to decide to do anything about a hacked account, i know, I've seen it happen.
ON with the story!:
One, i was sitting around mining my own business, countin the latest additions to my Scrooge McDuck style money pit when i received a PM. It contained the following.
"Hello, i am new to this site and i was wondering if i could have some gold."
My answer is always.
"We are all new to the site at some point in time, a great many of us arrived to this site with nothing but 100g in our pockets and a vague idea of what to do, you new kids arrive with free items, a well established economy and a million opportunities to make the gold you need. Instead you come to me, a clearly established member of the community who has worked his way to where he is today under his own power, and you ask me for gold, my friend, i ask you a question.
What would you do if i asked you for money? If i asked you for gold?
Chances are my friend, you would tell me to get ********. Thankfully for you, i am me, and not you.
Please don't ever talk to me again."
I normally get a "******** you" or something similar in response.

WarriorShadow Anjeni: It takes gaia a year to decide to do anything about a hacked account, i know, I've seen it happen. thanks for that - it's more feedback than i got from any mod. While most of my son's things were returned, he didn't get everything back. And now my boyfriends account was just hacked. The little b*tch used the bank so it's clear for all to see that she took all the monthly collectables he had. I paid for those with real money, so in a very real sense i have been robbed. I actually wish there was a way to trace who these people are. If items taken are over the amount of 200 dollars you can take someone to court and they can get jail time for that. Then maybe some of these idiots would understand that stealing is stealing, no matter where you do it. I have hope that my boyfriends stuff will be returned to him in a year or so, but in the meantime, Gaia pushes us to spend even more real life cash & i'm wondering why anyone should spend any money on Gaia.
