She felt so huge, so ugly, and so disgusting. And the worst thing about it was that she had no idea how she had gotten this way. She just woke up one morning to find her belly had grown to more than double its size. But even though she didn't know how it happened, she knew what it meant. She knew what was growing inside of her, and what would eventually make its painful exit. She wasn't looking forward to it at all. Besides the labour of it, she didn't even want children.
She sighed and walked slowly towards one of her favourite willow trees. She was thirsty, but didn't want to walk the distance to the pond. Half of her couldn't wait until these babies were out of her to relieve her of the extra weight she had to carry.

Saphira was watching the mare carefully from a distance, and she was at first reluctant to approach. The mare looked exhausted, and she also looked very conflicted. It also appeared that from the mare's belly, that she was pregnant! In Saphira's opinion, that was a wonderful thing! But still, not everyone found nature to be that stimulating and exciting. Saphira on the other hand, found nature to be absolutely amazing like that!
Once Saphira was satisfied with her general findings on the mare by the tree, she slowly made her way over to where she stood, and she smiled lightly. "Good day to you, miss." she then said, while still acting a bit reluctant. She didn't want the other mare to be frightened by her, so she kept a comfortable distance between them. Up close, she could easily see how beautiful the other mare was. Saphira was seriously taken aback! "May I ask.. are you alright?" she then said, with a very soft tone.

She had heard the other mare approaching, and glared at her when she spoke to her. She was definitely one of the most interesting Soquili she had seen to this day. She was like nothing she had ever seen before. Ignoring her appearance for now, she sighed and tossed her head, looking away from the other mare.
"Well, its far from a good day. Of course I'm not ok. How would you feel if you were lugging around children in your belly? Do you know how ridiculously uncomfortable this is?"
She turned back to look at the other mare, waiting for her to answer her question. Though she appeared to be bothered by her, she actually hoped that she would stick around and ask some questions. After all, this was the first chance she'd had to speak to anybody since it had happened.

Saphira blinked lightly, before knowing fully well that the mare was allowed to have these sort of hormones. They were completely natural when pregnant, and there was no reason to judge or be angry at the other mare! "I actually don't know what its like, but I do pity with you." Imagining was enough for Saphira, since she had never been pregnant herself. "But is there anything I can do to help you? Its the least I can do." The mare must have needed something, and Saphira was hoping to at least make herself useful!
"You must be excited, soon you will have little ones who are new to the world. Is the stallion also excited as well?" Saphira grinned while scratching her tail on the ground, and she imagined that the entire experience would be an exciting one! "Are you hoping for little boys, girls, or both?" For some reason, she was interested to hear anything about the subject area! She wondered if she would be able to handle motherhood and pregnancy, since it was much more complicated then most assumed!

She just stared at the other mare for a moment. Why on earth was she so excited? If she thought it was such a great thing, then she could have them for all she cared! But at the mention of the stallion, she started laughing.
"Well, there is no stallion! I haven't been near a stallion in a long time. Well, at least not close enough for this to happen. So I don't know what else to tell you about that.
The truth was, there was obviously a stallion, but Ju being who she was, she had completely pushed the experience out of her mind. For all she knew, nothing had happened. She had absolutely no memory of it, and if she were ever to see the stallion again, she wouldn't recognize him. It was her own horrible way of coping with things that she didn't like. Who knew how many other things had been pushed out of her mind?

Saphira wanted to drop her mouth open out of utter shock, but instead she kept to herself and tried to not act phased by what the mare just said. Did she seriously believe that no stallion existed?! Oh goodness.. the situation would indeed be complicated now, wouldn't it?
"Well, a stallion has to exist you see, since that is how nature works.." Saphira cringed her teeth a bit, since this was not her place to be lecturing! Maybe the poor mare was confused and just dazed? Hopefully that was it.. since pregnancy always happened from a male and a female!!
"Maybe you just don't remember at the moment, and it will come back to you soon?' That could be a possible as well, since the mare might have been tired or something. "But I assure you.. there must be a stallion..."

Well, she was pretty thick, wasn't she? Did she not get it? If there had been a stallion, of course she would have known. But there was no memory of one, so there must not have been one.
"Are you saying that I'm stupid or something? I would know, wouldn't I? You don't just forget about something like that! I know what happened. Or rather, what didn't happen. And what would you know about it anyway?! You don't have children, do you?"
She was furious. She began to pant, as she was starting to become short of breath. She had felt bad enough to begin with, and now this mare had come along and was telling her that she didn't know anything. What a horrible day!

"No-no!" Saphira then said, while shaking her head frantically. "That's not what I meant at all, miss!" The entire conversation was getting worse by the second! "I'm sorry it is none of my business anyhow, I won't include myself on your private manners like that." Saphira felt awful, she didn't want to smother the mare like this! "No matter what it is, I am sure it will be worked out very soon."
Or at least.. hopefully it would, for this mare's sake! "I am sure the children will be coming out any day now, so you won't have to suffer in your current body state.." The mare looked as if she were ready any day now, and Saphira wondered if she even realized that! "I am not the best person to listen to, anyways." she then admitted, while shuffling her feet. "I just wanted to come over here and help out somehow, and I apologize since I did a terrible job already." At least she was honest!

She suddenly felt sorry for the other mare. She had attacked her out of nowhere. Though she had been very rude in assuming that she didn't know what she was talking about. There was no stallion, and nobody could convince her otherwise.
"Well, I apologize. I was a bit mean there."
She giggled, her cheeks reddening. When she smiled, she was actually quite lovely.
"Any day? Really, you think so?! Ugh, I can't wait until they get out! They're so heavy!"
She shifted her weight on her feet to relieve the stress a bit.

Saphira was once again shocked to see the complete personality shift, and she could only assume it was from her pregnancy or something. "No apologies necessary!" she then said, while blushing her own cheeks. The mare looked so friendly and bright when she smiled, and Saphira was amazed from that realization as well. She looked even prettier, and Saphira wished she had that quality herself.
"I can imagine how heavy you feel.. would you rather sit down or something? I am sure the grass is soft enough." She lowered her neck so that she could sniff and examine the ground around them, before nodding at her guess. She couldn't imagine having a belly that drooped that much, the thought was actually kind of scary! That would probably mean she would be stuck on the ground for weeks, if not months! Saphira shook her head lightly before bringing her crazy thoughts back onto the mare. "So what is your name? Mine is Saphira." She was a bit late in introductions, but there was no reason not to ask! "And if you need anything else, I seriously am happy to help!"

"It would be nice to sit down for a while."
She smiled and lowered herself carefully to the ground. She had to lay a bit to the side so as not to squish her stomach too much. Not only did it feel ridiculously uncomfortable when she did that, but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be good for the children inside of her. She looked up at the other mare and smiled.
"Very nice to meet you, Saphira. My name is Ju."
She smiled and bowed her head.

Saphira watched as the mare slowly made herself comfortable, and she let out a sigh of relief when she noticed she was fine on the ground. It must have felt funny at first, since her belly was so big! Hopefully it made the mare feel better, even if it was for a brief moment. "It is nice to meet you as well, Ju." The mare seemed calmer then she was just moments ago, and Saphira was thankful for that, since it was never good for a pregnant mare to be stressed out! That would tire her out too much.
"So tell me, Ju, what do you plan to do when you finally have your kids? Do you have any hopes or dreams for them?" Saphira then lowered herself to the ground, since it felt more polite to look at the mare head-on, rather then staring down at her. "I'm sure you will be very busy once the children are ready to play and explore!" Would the mare be able to handle it? Saphira seriously hoped so... if not, she would have to intervene and help!

She laughed, tossing her head back. Had she not heard anything that she had said?! Dreams and hopes?
"I don't even want these children. So obviously, I have nothing in mind for them. Hopefully, they won't be too needy. Though....I will be a better parent than mine were to me. They were horrible."
An angry fire crept up inside of her, showing in her dark eyes. She looked off into the distance, looking at nothing in particular, her gaze unfocused. Before now, she had been so angry at the thought of children, but now that she thought of it, it was a chance for her to be the parent that she always knew her parents should have been. She'd show them how to be a real parent and properly take care of your children.
"Yes, actually, I will be a good mother. I need to prove to my parents that I can be a good mother, even though they could hardly be called parents themselves."
She glared at the spot of nothing, her anger continuing to grow the longer she thought about her parents.

Hmm.. at first Saphira was completely worried by the mare's response, but from her heightened anger, Saphira noticed that she actually found a reason to want the children, even if it was a strange one in Saphira's taste. "I think you will be a great mother!" she then added, while feeling sort of nervous from the mare's expression. Apparently Ju had had some rough times growing up, and if being a better parent was enough to stimulate her want for children, then Saphira was at least satisfied with that revelation!
"I am sorry if your parents were like that, Ju. I have no doubt that you will be better then them.." Saphira wanted to know what Ju went through, but she wasn't sure if she should ask. Maybe it was too personal? The mare was conflicted, and she finally decided to blurt a question out after a small amount of silence.
"Was there anything in particular that your parents did that you just couldn't stand?" Saphira blushed a bit, wondering if Ju would be offended by her question. But, it was better to ask, wasn't it?

She turned her glare to Saphira, staring at her for a moment before speaking.
"No, the thing was that they did nothing. When I was a foal and depended on my mothers milk, she was never around. When I was scared and wanted the protection of my father, he had better things to do. They hated me, and they told me so all the time. They would leave me for days on end. I had no idea where they had gone, and when they were coming back, even if they were going to come back. So many nights, I laid alone, wondering if it would be the last night I'd spend on earth. I would starve, I would be terrified and cold, and completely alone. They never cared."
She turned her eyes to the ground, staring intently at a little pebble that laid in front of her. It had been a long time since she had said anything like that about her parents to anybody, and in some ways, it felt good.
