Name: Tethra
D.o.B.: 6.12.04
P.o.B. Caverns, Feral Clan territory
Type: Banded Hyena

Affinity: Ahnleh Clan

Family
Father: Amon; Feral Clan, Alpha
Mother: Mehal
Siblings: Neith, Amahi, Akemi

Uncle: Naois
Aunt (by blood): Faizah; Feral Clan, Alpha
Cousins: Tama, Gypsy, Fianna, Akimatsu, Kasinda

Personality

A very strong-minded individual since birth, Tethra suffered a bad case of spoiledness while being raised by her loving father, Amon. Now free of her childhood ego, the winged hyena has grown into a force to be reckoned with.

Often prone to a hot-temper, she is fiercely scrutinizing of her former clan (especially her father) in which she ostracized herself from. Even now, she often overcompensates any uncomfortable situation with anger. Deep down however, one can find a soul lost to wanderlust, drifting about on the breeze with no real direction. As of late, she has been very contemplative but hides a severe pain of loneliness and despair from never truly belonging.

Hobbies

Spending time with those she holds dear:
Fianna - Fierce, strong sister-like. A heart akin to the wild. Show me nature.
Naois - Gentle, kind storyteller. Show me tales of the past.
Raajmuat - .... Show me the future.

Tethra loves to fly long distances but traveling through the wild on foot is just as much her favorite pastime. She actually loves to swim, despite her looks. She also has a weakness for cub-like games, nostalgia from a sad childhood.

History

The spoiled princess of the land
The child struggling for attention
Returning to the wild with Fianna
Fighting for recognition yet again, a battle with family
The leaving

~Tethie's Fun facts~

1. Tethra's father Amon is a very robust tiger-type banthi. He has a roar that can shake mountains and scare off anyone! Unfortunately, Tethra's vocal cords aren't quite as in-tune. Her mother Mehal's hyena genes have left with a very odd roaring-screech that she only makes when VERY upset.

2. Tethra's mother Mehal is a hyena-type banthi, and smells like popcorn! Sometimes if the wind is right, Tethra does too :3

3. Tethra was a bit of a magpie when she was a young cub, stealing and squandering objects she loved and hiding them under the couch. These included shiny things as well as a nice collection of colourful feathers.

4. Tethra is very well-adapted to agile flight, unlike her heavier father who is almost encumbered in midair by his heavy bone structure.

5. Tethra has yet to officially declare herself a traitor of Feral Clan... and has yet to even inform Raajmuat that her father is Amon the alpha... :3 (Eeeeeeee badTethiebadbad)

6. Tethra's nickname given to her by Raajmuat is "Raven"

~Thoughts~

Quote:
Patrolling is tiring but its become obvious it needs to be done... I wonder what everyone else is up to...
PostPosted: Mon Jan 14, 2008 8:22 pm

A crisp wind rustled what was left of the dry grasses in the plains below, her sandy eyes watching the blades sway as her thoughts drifted absent-mindedly in far off directions. Her striped pelt held off the chill of the breeze but it was hard to keep still on such a cool day atop the unforgiving rocky surface of the mountainside. So long she'd sat in silence like a sentinel over land that wasn't hers to watch over, an alien in a territory she struggled to feel welcome in. Her joints were stiff from the effort of motionlessness but inside she was torn with restless wanderlust. Some things never changed, even as time passed on in the ageless wild. The wind picked up in a gust again and her leathery wings fluttered at the stimulation.

A thought quietly turned to another, a friend. She wondered what he was doing right about now.

Kireiryuu
Time had passed by rather slowly, but Raajmuat did everything in his power to keep himself busy. Each day made him more proud of what he's accomplished. The clan was thriving, even if it was small. That would change over time, he told himself quietly. With the coming of a new season just on the horizon, life would flourish just as it should. As the breeze rustled past him, he couldn't help but pick up on Tethra's scent. So Raven was about afterall. The basilisk couldn't help but let that slippery grin slowly etch it's way along his features. His milky eyes landed on nothing in particular before he decided to slowly make his way to where the female was resting. Even if his strong dislike for females was still there, Tethra had proven herself to him, in his eyes, that she was at least a little trustworthy. Although, his pride would not let him announce that to her anytime soon, her company was a breath of fresh air and would do him some good, whether he'd admit that to himself or not.

He carefully make his way through the mountainside, it wouldn't do him any good to get in a tight squeeze right now. As her scent came to him stronger than before, he tested the waters to see exactly where she was. 'The land must be a sight to see at a time like this.'

A chill passed down her spine as she heard the familiar, low voice of the basilisk male. She let a small sigh escape her nostrils as she didn't answer at first, admittedly struggling to find so much to say... or was there too much? The breeze died down thankfully for the time being, allowing the wind-tossed fur on the female's shoulders to settle back into place if not for only a little while. "It oddly falls short" She replied plainly, keeping her eyes on the sights down below. The colours were truly beautiful in all their natural shimmering hues of a mild winter but she couldn't bring herself to enjoy it.

After a moment of silence she digressed as she turned her self around to face Raajmuat, out of respect. To any other male alike her father, she would never be so delicate to avoid insulting them. "The grasses are almost gone, either muddy or eaten by grazing animals, but what's left is a brilliant gold. The trees somehow managed to keep a solid grip on some shades of green, it seems.... in case you were wondering." She glanced down at the rocks underfoot, shifting the digits in her forepaws to flex out the cold stiffness.

Kireiryuu
His paws detected the slight movements that Tethra made and thus, Raajmuat headed in that direction. Upon hearing her reply he couldn't help take it all in. He could feel emotions radiating off the female, but he was so inadequate when it dealt with the opposite gender. Perhaps that was one of his downfalls. Regardless, it was just too hard for him to open up to the opposite sex, his history made him very hard to trust. With Tethra's sifting in his direction, he made his way close to her side. The mountainside was rather cool to the touch, it had been a lot colder many moons ago, but most of the worst had passed. Or at least, the basilisk had hoped so.

'I could just imagine. Things rarely seem to fall close. It makes me wonder if I'm actually cursed by my lack of sight, or blessed.' Talakin would be rather proud of him, he knew the cornsnake wanted him to open up to others. As hard as it is, he needed to be at least a little emotionally attached to his members or else they'd just leave him. Being alone is not something he wanted to experience ever again. He was curious about the female, he knew very little about her. But her voice made him wonder. There was something there that he could relate to, or perhaps he was just imagining it because that'd make it better for him. 'Do you miss your home, Raven?' He rested down against the ground, placing his head on his paws as his pale, milky eyes gazed forward onto the eternal darkness he was subjected to. With Tethra's descriptions, he tried to paint them in his head.

Tethra watched him move, always amazed at how agile he was despite his apparent complete lack of sight. She figured his other senses must be kicked into high-gear, leaving him in some state of awareness she couldn't comprehend. Waiting until he settled, she turned her back to the world below and crouched down until her limbs curled daintily under her plush belly. "Yea." She scoffed at his comment, though it managed to produce a small smile.

Tilting her head to the side, she listened to his question and chuffed a short, humorless laugh. "No... heh.... no." With a small shake of her cranium she continued only tentatively on the subject, her voice growing cold but soft with memory. "I used to love that place so much..... I messed up a lot there though. Its definetly lost its spark." She pondered for a moment before deciding to ask her own question. "Have you ever traveled far North before?"

Kireiryuu
An ear flicked in Tethra's direction as Raajmuat could feel her shifting weight once more, perhaps it was to get comfortable, perhaps it was to get warm from the chill. But regardless, he heard her words and took them in carefully. Things apparently didn't appear to be well with where she was from and he couldn't blame her. Things had been difficult for him. It left him scared not only physically but mentally. He bore the brunt of his abuse and thus, it had left him the way he was now. His serpentine tail curled around him slightly before he turned his head to let his milky gaze land on her.

Her question made him curious. He paused to think about it. Had he been to the North? Perhaps he had, he's been to a lot of places but they all kind of meld together. 'Perhaps I have. In the very least, I could not tell you what it looked like now,' He paused as his eyes kind of glazed over slightly, getting lost in a thought. 'My mother took me on one of her travels a long time ago. Even though she wasn't really supposed to, she feared leaving me behind with the rest of the clan. The landscape was rather beautiful, so full of life...' His voice trailed off softly in nostalgia. It was then that he realized he was talking to Tethra and not Talakin. It had been rather easy to let a soft side of him show, a side he tried to keep locked away from others. He didn't want to be hurt. His placed his paw forward on the cool ground, letting it soak into his paw. As the warmth had left him, his thought about the female next to him. While there were other females here, none knew his real name. None were here as long as Talakin and Tethra was. Their initial meeting had been anything but kind. But that was not to be expected from him. The sounds the wind made against the female were different sounding than the sounds that Talakin made or even his mate.

'I should think that you are rather restless being bound to the ground with little purpose to fulfil,' He paused to raise his head fully to rest his milky gaze on Tethra, 'Do you wish for a purpose here?'

Tethra's eyes were trained on the male as she listened in wonder like a small cub listening to the grandiose stories weaved by her father who, at the time, was beyond any sort of fault or imperfection. She wondered about so many aspects of Raaj's old clan. It seemed so alien to her, their schools of thought and the way they regarded each other within the clan. The fact that Raaj's mother was afraid to leave her son with the rest of the clan gave her the impression that perhaps there was an air of distrust that ran through the old clan, or somesort of individual apprehension even while being amongst a tightly-knit group. This contrasted greatly in her mind, coming from a clan very devoted to the gentle, loving protection and somewhat harsh obedience of a familial group. She wasn't shocked or unsettled by this though, it only proved to intrigue her further. She wanted to much to ask more questions but she was weary of the alpha's patience. It was a difficult path to where she now stood - or rather lay - within this new clan. It would be absolutely soul-crushing to somehow mess it all up now... now that she was finally feeling at home somewhere for once.

The male's statement caught her off-guard as she listened curiously, bright tawny eyes trained on his calm features. For some odd reason she feared she was about to be chastised for some unfortunate act but was interested at his proposal. A purpose. What exactly did he mean? The word seemed much too elaborate for what she was feeling, if by some chance he was attempting to reach out to her troubles. he'd find that a difficult task if he did try, as the real demons taunting her within were confusedly lost to her as well. "A purpose?" She echoed her thoughts, achingly curious to hear his idea. "Like what?"

Kireiryuu
Her curiosity, he could feel it radiate off of her. Raajmuat couldn't help but grin inwardly to have her full attention. The basilisk was sure she had plenty of questions she was itching to ask. He would too, if he was in her position. But, while he wouldn't give her all the answers she desired right now, he wouldn't mind delving into some sooner than others. Not all things are as satisfying knowing at once. Plus, it helps to keep the interest in the area just a little bit longer. With his milky eyes focused on her, he replied, 'You've been here for quite some time. I've been secretly testing you, trying to see if you are worthy to being here. But I dare say, you're surely passed any test I could think of to put against you. Therefore, I should think that by living here, it would help you to become an active role in the clan.' He had tried and tried again to reason with himself while he should have gotten rid of the female so long ago, but she had followed his rules, listened to his rages and rants, there was nothing in his mind that justified him making her leave. Therefore, if she was to stay here, she needed to have a place in the clan. A job for her to do to help the clan grow and prosper.

Talakin has a job here, two roles that the cornsnake plays here. But Tethra, she has none. The basilisk has been mulling for some time before he had found something that could be suitable for the female. He didn't want to place her in a job that would insult her, since she was not in the least bit weak. With a bitter smile, 'As the clan knows, I am unable to see. As much as I pray for this to be resolved, I know I can't change back time to reverse what has already been done. Therefore, I need assistance.' He paused before continuing, 'I need eyes, someone I can look through to see what's going on. Someone who can scout the land, keep an eye on the members, and give me advice when I need it. Someone who I can count on,' As much as he would not like to admit it, taking care of a clan was not something he was so natural in doing, therefore any help he could muster would be put to use. 'In the old clan, everyone had a job...a purpose that they lived for within the clan. That's what helped kept the clan going.'

The winged hyena followed on cautiously, unsure of where the male was taking this conversation. It came as no surprised to her when Raaj admitted to constantly testing to her nature against the qualities of a valued member of his clan, he just seemed like the type to take precautions with every step, understandably. She was taken aback however, by the slight hint of acceptance in the male's tone. Had she really proven her best to him without even knowing it? It surprised her that she'd managed to keep her head attached to her shoulders let alone impress the alpha of the clan. Words couldn't describe the feeling as she continued to listen.

Was he really trusting her? This self-sufficient beast strengthened by hardships? He needed her assistance, he said. Her abilities. He needed her. Well... perhaps she was taking this all a little too seriously but to be told she was somehow NEEDED... well... she was onboard.

Tethra fought back hard all the urges to spout of the first words that came to mind. Somehow "thank you" didn't seem to suffice in a situation as this one. Without pausing too long in case she gave him the wrong impression, the female answered promptly. "I'd be honored to fulfill a purpose in this clan.... truly." Her words were quiet and uncharacteristically softened by emotion as some feeling churned within. Never would she have this responsibility in her old clan. Never would she be considered greatness, an asset to the group. The idea of being counted upon for tasks only she could perform made her lightheaded.

Kireiryuu
Ears flicked slightly as Raajmuat listened to her words, hearing the sincerity in them. It helped to calm his fears, that perhaps he was making the right step with Tethra. There was a nice feeling about all of this, something similar to what his mother had described it to him as. Though, at that time he couldn't fully understand the meaning since he was not really wanted by his father, nor by the clan for fear of bringing misfortune on them. His tail flicked slightly as he turned his head back towards the outlook where they were residing. 'I am glad to hear that, Raven. As much as I'd like to have Young Snake do everything for me, it would be unkind of me to ask so much of him. Therefore, it would only be appropriate to start handing out some responsibilities to those who have proven themselves.'

The cool breeze rustled once more, sending a chill down his spine. The air did seem to be cooling down just a bit, the day wasn't too far from coming to a close. The nights were cold, not very much to his liking but that's just the way that nature worked. He rested his head back on his paws once more, closing his eyes against the crisp breeze. The view was the same for him either way. Unsure of what else to say to Tethra, he had lapsed into a small silence, letting the female take everything in. Slowly, he opened his eyes to turn them back towards Tethra. He wondered what she looked like. What Talakin looks like or any of his other clan members who he knew by many different means other than what they looked like.

Tethra nodded slowly, understanding Raaj's reasoning for choosing another to place responsibility on. With all the talk of Talakin, she wondered how the orange snake came to be so close to the basilisk. She recalled that he too had originated from Feral Clan but had dismissed himself sono after to join Ahnleh. Amon had granted him an honorable parting... perhaps he might grant that on his daughter when the time came. Somehow she couldn't see the bitter old man understanding her reasoning and subsequently giving her the reassurance and consolement of an honorable leaving, no matter how much she daydreamed of the possibility.

The hyena found herself falling silent once again as Raaj seemed to comfortably rest amongst the cold stone of the rocky mountain. He looked so at ease in such a posture, almost losing his tough exterior for just a moment or two. It was not enough to convince her it was alright to draw near, however. She'd keep her respectful distance.

"I'll leave you to the wind, then." She mumbled with a smile. "I've had enough of this chilly ledge for now. The wind's making me restlessness enough as it is." The female rose the step around the male and return to the shelter of the inner caverns, a small glance over her shoulder at his laying form once again as she passed.

Kireiryuu
Things had started to change drastically with the seasons starting to come closer to changing. Raajmuat could feel the weather getting warmer with each passing day. Not only is the changing of seasons something to look forward, there had been an unexpected discovery not too long ago by a member of the clan. It forever changed the basilisk. A gem had been found in one of the dusty rooms of the temple. No one knew how long it had been there for, not even he knew how long it had been there for, but the age didn't make much of a difference. What mattered is that there is more life coming into the clan. Not only had the gem been found, but Reika was starting on her path to become a spiritualist to the clan. These had to be signs from the deities that he was on the right track.

His tail flicked slightly behind him as he was lying down in the clearing before the entrance to the temple. With a cub in their midst, he was now ever alert for any signs of danger to his clan. Above all else was the safety of his members and should something happen to the clan, the first victim would probably be the helpless cub. At that thought, he couldn't help but to narrow his milky eyes. It had started to stir unwanted memories within the male, ones that he didn't want to revisit any time son. Trying to force himself to push the unsavory memories away, he put all his effect into the surroundings. His ears were perked forward, listening to any and every sound that the surroundings made. He could feel even the slightly tremor with his sense of touch. With his enhanced senses to make up for his lack of sight, he was using them to the fullest at the moment as he was totally absorbed into everything.

A sharp wind cut across the sky, layering the with paths of varying temperatures. The brisk, cold of winter was beginning its feud with the invading warmth from the south. Tethra was thankful for the gust as it pushed her body up another few feet so her wings cloud be supported for a little while longer as she glided calmly high up above ground. The differences in air temperature created a funny feeling against her fur, unable to think of any similar sensation. It was hard to describe these small but unique experiences to others during the few instances where she allowed herself the luxury of social contact. Self-alienation had become as much a habit as was the real-life resentment she no doubt received from her former clan.

Angling her leathery wings downwards, the airborn female's eyes glanced across the features of the land down below and found nothing of interest, save for when her gaze fell upon the alpha of the clan basking on his rocky territory far below. She smiled a bit to herself, finding the intimidating silhouette of the basilisk comforting to see as an everyday image upon her arrival back to her 'home' from her journeys in flight. She poised her body for a landing.

Dark-Jagan
Get him!
You can do it!

The cub was watching Raajmaut with keen eyes. His green tail swayed gently in the soothing wind, waiting... Waiting... Waiting for the 'perfect' moment that would never come. He would attempt to pounce the alpha of his clan! Since Raajmaut couldn't see Aeolus, he wouldn't be caught---right? The small one convinced himself that.. He inched his target slowly, trying his best not to make a sound; Lowering his head, Aeolus shook his rear in the air.

Goooo!
Now!

Pawing at the ground nervously, he leaned down before jumping. "Heee-Yaaaah!" he shouted in the darkness, flying for a split second in the air before landing on his belly, inches away from Raajmaut. "...Oww!" he pouted.

Kireiryuu
The cub's antics had not gone unknown by the basilisk, but Raajmuat couldn't find it in himself to ruin the cub's fun so he pretended to not know. His tail flicked slightly as he could hear the cub land not too far off from where he was. He shook his head softly, 'You were very close, Jade.' He gave the cub his serpentine grin before his ears flicked forward. It must be nice to have all the innocence of the world, to not know of the horrors that it could bring.

A familiar scent. That grin turned rather sly as he knew exactly who it was. Tethra. Since he couldn't feel any movement on the ground, he had concluded that she was flying through the air. It must be nice to have that advantage over others. He gave half of his attention to the cub before noting that the cub seemed to have wandered off a bit towards the temple. Just as long as he wasn't wandering too far away, then it wouldn't be too much of an issue. He waited to see where Tethra was, or rather to hear her.

Tethra watched with trained eyes as a little green scampered around behind Raajmuat, pouncing and playing to its little heart's content before wandering back towards the temple. Tethra cocked an eyebrow oddly, a bit taken aback by the strange sight. Huh... I wonder who it belongs to...? The female thought to herself as she poised for a landing, altitude dropping quickly before coming to a quiet and graceful stop. Her wings glided her form straight and true until her paws touched solid rock a few paces from where Raaj lay.

"Greetings." She breathlessly offered to the layer basilisk, clearly a bit tired from the effort of riding the waves of air for most of the day. She took a seat where she had found herself to be after her landing, waiting for a reply from the alpha. As the winged banthi waited, her sandy eyes trailed past his form to follow the mysterious, speckled little banthi nearby.

Kireiryuu
It didn't take long for the basilisk to turn his head in the direction where Tethra had landed. Raajmuat flicked his tail to acknowledge her presence before returning the greeting, 'I was wondering when you were going to set foot on the ground. It's good to see you again, Raven. I should think that you've seen Jade running around recently.' The cub's scent slowly faded away as it was replaced with the female's scent. His attention was now fully on the female, curious as to what she's been up to. He hadn't seen her for a little while, as the same goes for Talakin. There was plenty going on now-a-days that it made him glad.

Back to the winged female, 'Anything catch your interest? I should think with the weather starting to warm up, that things should become a bit more active.' He couldn't help but to hope that things weren't going too good to be true. As the saying liked to go, when things were going good, there always had to be something bad happen to help balance everything out.

Tethra smirked, nodding slowly to herself as her wings rested their muscles into a relaxed position at her sides. "The winds were dictating my flight-path today, it seemed. Those gusts from the north are enough to freeze my tail off at some points." At mention of the little one, her eyes returned to their curious and somewhat scrutinous observation of the cub. "Yes, its hard not the catch a glimpse of the little green fluff even from way up above. I don't think we've been introduced...?" Her head tilted towards Aeolus but the cub seemed more interested in his exploration of the temple as he wandered off farther away from the two adults. Her tone almost hinted at some hidden curiousity, as her mind reeled with questions on where he had come from exactly. She feared the obvious.... he was green...

She shook her head somewhat indifferently before turning her attention back to Raaj's questions. "Nothing too exciting going on in the wilds..." She mumbled, rolling her eyes to recall the small details of the morning's scouting flights. "The deer are no doubt becoming more active, I found many tracks along the treeline... no rabbit though. Not many other tracks to speak of at all, actually." She didn't want to hint at her concern of a 'dry' spring, as animal activity was something every banthi should be hopeful for. The Spring brought new prey to the wilderness but sometimes mother nature was cruel to hold back on her gifts even after the snow had vanished.

Kireiryuu
The unspoken question lingered in Tethra's words as Raajmuat picked up on it. So the little cub would appear to be of kin to him then? While he couldn't say for certain, since he couldn't see, but he had gathered from another member that the cub was a rather nice shade of green. Not too dissimilar to his own. He was debating on whether or not to keep the information to himself, but it wouldn't be too much to give up...especially to Tethra, afterall. 'He had awoken not too long ago, and is quite the bundle of energy. It's rather enlightening to see life starting to prosper, really.' He paused briefly, 'His name is Aeolus and he goes by 'Jade'.' He turned his head to let his milky eyes rest upon where he figured Tethra to be resting, close to where he was. 'Does he look like he could be mine?' A sly grin slowly spread across his features.

The news she gave him was rather encouraging. If the deer were starting to become more active, it wouldn't be so long before other animals would start to come out from the long winter even if it was some time away. 'That could be good news...' He let his voice fade out softly before he the silence surrounded the two. For some reason, he felt comforted by the idea that Tethra was someone he could rely on, even when he tried to do everything on his own. There were just some things that he couldn't do no matter what he tried. 'Is it nice to be so high up in the air? Wings were something that had never been apart of my prior clan.'

Tethra's expression was wrinkled into a half-amused, half-irritated look as she listened to the obvious teasing from Raaj. It was interesting to learn that the cub had just happened to be found and that it seemed healthy and happy, despite having no particular mother, but she could do without the implications. "Yes, I suppose he could pass for it. Why, are you unable to recall misplacing something of yours in particular?" Her sharply sly reply was as clear as day although the female found in comfortably ironic that she was joking about such a thing with Raaj, of all banthi.

Leaving the snide comments aside, she considered his question seriously as she pondered on the experience. She found it funny that she had just been lamenting over her inadequate ability to express her experiences in flight to others a moment ago. "Well, I can't imagine ever NOT having my wings but its no lie to say they're very cumbersome and irritating sometimes. They do allow a sense of freedom though, and a nice feeling of security. Not many banthi can boast the sky to be a route of escape during a sticky situation." She pondered more on the idea and fell silent, feline lips pursing with thought. "I rely on them heavily, I guess. While you're up so high... its like you can detach yourself fully from the goings-on below. "On the outside-looking-in", I guess you could say. Very calming... well, unless you're in a storm." Her voice ended flatly but she was clearly amused at the idea-- before she realized she'd been ranting a bit to herself. She sheepishly shut her jaw and lowered her head, finding a tiny rock chip between her toes VERY interesting for the moment.

Kireiryuu
The winged female's sharp reply couldn't help but place a rather large grin on Raajmuat's features. It was rather nice to have a little banter every now and then, to keep things lively. 'I should hope that time never comes.' He replied quite smoothly in return. Of all the things, he couldn't imagine making such a joke with Talakin...perhaps it would even go over the cornsnake's head. He wouldn't admit it outloud, but it was rather refreshing to be able to tease Tethra without looking like a fool doing so. His tail flicked slightly before he continued, 'I'm afraid I cannot take credit for Jade, but regardless, we are now his family.' A wink would have gone along quite nicely, but he wouldn't go that far. Not now, it was something that would come with time.

As he put the cub's origins aside, he listened to Tethra talk about her wings. With his lack of sight, it made it easier for him to paint a picture in his mind. While the feelings would never be the same, that didn't mean he wouldn't try to understand what Tethra was saying. The least he could do was listen to her, plus he was interested in it afterall. Though, as she stopped herself short of her words, a smirk crept its way along his jawline. Was she embarrassed all of a sudden. Oh, he wouldn't let this one go now. If his eyes could display emotions as easily as others, they would twinkle...as scary as that sounded for him. 'What's with the silence all of a sudden, Raven?' His voice light and airy, 'I was rather enjoying the picture I had painted in my mind, with your help. But it's not finished because you stopped talking.' An eyebrow raised expectantly to the female. This would be a time where the basilisk could look back on and smile. A time where he could be freer with the female and actually joke, than to seem like a banthi who didn't have a care in the world.

Tethra was about to calmly add her comments on how she was willing to treat the little hapless cub as any close member of the tightly-knit clan but found herself flustered all of a sudden by the alpha's comments. Taken aback by a playfulness she didn't even consider possible from the basilisk, the normally sharp-tongued and keen-minded female was.... left speechless.

Thankfully she recovered quickly but would later kick herself for her inadequate comebacks. "I didn't want to bore you." She began slowly, leaving out the obvious light-hearted insults she could've made towards him in favor of remaining 'safe' in the conversation. "Sorry." She prepared to continue but found her thought process completely off-kilter now. Perhaps she was just not used to playing around with a male other than those she grew up with or perhaps this banthi really did possess the ability to really shake her up. She silently hoped for the first explanation. "Flying is sort of like swimming... physically at least, if that makes any sense. Though it really does empower you to be so far up high while everyone and everything else is left looking nothing like a really extensive termite mound." She tried to chuckle at her own gruesome analogy.
