it bugs me that i can't play games with the tokens i've been collecting. I thought the developers were supposed to keep everything in working order. I know sometimes things take longer than they were expecting to take, but still, it's their job to make gaia work right and the games haven't been working for a long time. and i need my tickets for my quest and i refuse to buy them in the marketplace.

Blossom, have you ever worked on maintenance for a large server system running a board with an average of ~35000 people on at any given time? Its a big job, and they can't always stay ahead of the problems.

As I said previously,

I know sometimes things take longer than they were expecting to take

I also know that programming can be difficult. And no, Jeoc, I haven't ever worked on any kind of server system. I know that problems will occur and that coding for websites takes a long time to review to find the problem. I just want to be able to finish my quest is all. Oh, and thanks for making me feel like a stupid jackass.

Sorry. Would you like some tokens instead of a feeling of jackassery?

thank you. ^_^

would it have made sense for them to make an announcement or something about how they know the games are down?

Quite probably.
And blossom, if I offer you something as a gift, don't offer me gold for it.

This problem has been getting on my nerves. I mean seriously, I know it takes a while to fix problems like this, but its starting to become unreasonable.

This is why I never play the games. D:

I really only want one thing from the developers: a wig system. Instead, they're doing this cinema crap and the battle system (which I know has been forthcoming since before I even joined in '04) when they can't get the games to work and...bleh.

the cinema stuff is, aside from securing rights and a little code for the theater itself and the towns code for the chat, extremely simple.

I don't care how simple it is. I still think it's a waste of time when they could make something more beneficial to users (i.e. the wig system would make things a whole lot easier and less expensive for users--it's not like Gaia gets money when you spend gold in shops)

Yes, but they do get money for every time an ad gets viewed, and more money everytime one gets clicked, thus why you get gold for surfing the site.

...But there's no ads when you're in Shops.

I'm not saying that they were wrong in hosting cinemas or plugging movies or anything of that ilk, I'm just saying is that users have been asking for the wig system for ages and it's just more useful than having the cinema. Plugging movies can be done with an embedded video rather than setting up that whole schpiel.

I think a wig system would be nice. I never really thought about it too much til now.
