You are invited to a house warming party in honor of Jasmine moving out of her home and into one built by herself. It will be held at Bella's home then moving on to Jasmine's abode. Please bring one dish to this pot luck.

That was the note that arrived at Erik's home. It had no stamp or return address as it was simply delivered by a black bird and dropped on Erik's head.

He'd gathered up the pieces of his dignity...mostly...since then. Though Quinlan kept cracking up with laugher every so often, and making cawing noises, making the Dhampir roll his eyes.
He was wearing a dark green coat and an even darker vest over his usual ruffed white shirt, it's time and sun yellowed lace poking out of his sleeves, which he'd had to pull back slightly, exposing bony wrists so jutting as to create the illusion of frailty and starvation, to keep them out of the dish he was bringing.
Quinlan had discovered a recipe for an multi layered dip that was both tasty and filling, so given the simplicity and the ease of re-heating it in an oven, he'd made that.
"It's not that funny." he pointed out, shaking his head.
"Yes it is." Quinlan quipped back, grinning, and walking with a purposefully exadurated walk. "Jasie must be really proud. She made her own house. I bet it's not as big as yours though, she wouldn't be DONE yet, not in a million years!"
"A million years is a very long time, but you're right, I doubt it's quite the same. A very large work crew built that place some time ago."

The gentle sound of a flute wafted towards them. Birds sang their chorus with the instrument as a green-haired fairy sat on a stump playing. Mistletoe had gotten decent with her flute and the birds all seemed to enjoy singing with her. She stopped with a smile as she saw the two approaching. "Oh good! You got the message! I told mommy I should take it but she said her strange bird would get the message to you!"
She floated over to Erik with the large grin of a child and wrapped her little aroums around his. But not so that he would drop his bowl or p***k him with the thorny protrusions on her elbows. "Mommy said I could wait here to show you where to go since it will be outside the house! Wait till you see Jasmine and her house!"
She bounced a little in excitement and began to lead the way to the little table set up behind Bella's home. Lotus was there stirring punch while Bella was putting out some stone dishes. She looked quite lovely, actally wearing white for a change. Her paleness was only made more previlant with the dress but it flowed about her in the sunlight. Her black hair and brilliant black eyes stood out as well as the red of her lips. She smiled as the three apprpoched. "Ah, good afternoon Erik, Quinland. I'm glad you could come!"

"Mistletoe!" Nihls voice warmed up with affection at the spirits approach, carefully wrapping an arm around her to return the hug. "I'm sure it's wonderful!"
And so was Bella by the looks of it, he couldn't remember ever seeing her in white, but then again, the most color he usually wore was the faded shades of old colored photos, embroidered into his waistcoats. "Bella, My dear, you look radiant." He noted, and meant it.
"Caw." Provided Quinlan, grinning wickedly at the two of them. He knew Nihls thought of himself as 'the old man' But he also knew admiration when he saw it. "The crow was BRILLIANT." he noted. "We brought dip! I found the recipie!"

Bella let a blush cross her cheeks at Erik's compliment. She strood over and gave a polite curtsey before chuckling at Quinlan. "Well he was suppose to deliver it without a show but I can tell he had his fun." She took Erik's arm in place of Mistletoe, who floated off to get a few more things, and showed him where to place his dish. "I'm sure it is delicious Quinlan. Jasmine will be so happy to see you two. Ah here she is."
Floating out of the house was a teenage looking girl with dark purple wings and a flowing dress. She smiled brightly at the two and placed the dish she had been carrying onto the table. She politely curtsied like her mother, a much more mature manner pervaded her aura. "I am so glad you both could come see my new home. I've worked very hard on it."

"He dropped it on his head!" Quinlan 'crowed', grinning with the hilarity of it, rocking gleefully on his heels. "Jas!" He added, perking up as the young girl entered. She was growing up pretty, and he was impressed by this, and by the fact that, while still so young, she had built her own house.
"I'm sure it's wonderful, we were discussing it on the way." Nihls noted, smiling as the girl entered.It was strange how they grew, these children from orbs, but they were still just that. Children. It was a very curious and often unexpected way of adopting.

Bella rolled her eyes. "He can be.....difficult. But at least you got the letter." She smiled and finished setting the table. It was filled with homemade bread, roasted meat, fresh fruits and veggies, and a delicious looking cake. "Shall we eat then allow Jasmine to show off her creation?"
Bella gracefully took a seat, Lotus sitting next to her. Jasmine was at the head of the table passing out napkins. Mistletoe took a seat near Quinlan, leaving the other side of Bella open to Erik.

Nihls took a deep, appreciative sniff of what was cooking, and Quinlan leaned forward, oggling the cake with open appreciation. His sweet tooth was considerably more well developed than his half vampire 'father'.
"Of course. It looks spectacular, Bella." Nihls noted, emphatically. "And congratulations again, Jasmine." He added, giving the young woman a dramatic half bow with courtly grace, maybe a touch embellished to make her laugh.
"You made cake! Who made the cake?" Quinlan demanded, looking between Bella and Jasmine. "mmm. It looks wonderful. We're going to have some, right?"

"I made it Quinlan, but your must eat your lunch before you have any." Bella smiled as she shook her finger at the boy in a playful gesture. Her children didn't have much of a sweet tooth but they did enjoy an occational treat.
Jasmine giggled at the overly dramatic bow and finished passing out the napkins. "Yeah Quinlan, you have to eat your meal first!" The mean continued with light chatter from Bella while Jasmine talked with Quinlan about getting older.
"So Erik, what do you think of my Jasmine already moving out of the house? I must admit it makes things a little less cramped. Lotus of course sleeps in the stream but Jassy and Missy were crowded in their one bed."

"I know....." Quinlan noted, but sighed anyway, leaning on the back of one of the chairs. "It looks like a great cake though." He grinned, impishly, and pantomined swiping some of the icing with his finger, then winked.
"You know I'm perfectly capable of helping you out." Nihls blinked orange eyes owlishly at the idea of so many people so crowded. Had his own childhood been like that? Once upon a time in the grey mists he'd mostly forgotten in hours of laborious hours sawing bow across strings? Maybe. "At the very -least- I can get you a set of bunk beds."

Bella smiled softly at Erik, shaking her head. Her midnight locks falling over her bare white shoulders. "Oh it's not a bother now. Jasmine lives in her own home, Lotus sleeps in the stream, and Mistletoe has her own bed now. Lotus gets too dehydrated if he's out of the water all night."
"I can't wait for you to see my house, Quinlan! I made it so I can always live there, like mother has always lived here in this house! I even built my bed so it's in the wall, and you open two doors like a cabinet to reveal it!" Oh yes, Jasmine was very proud of her creations.

"You could have asked before..." he offered, flustered, "Or said something." He felt a little guilty rattling around in his massive home when here they'd been living in such tight quarters. "It sounds incredible Jasmine. That must have been quite a lot of work!"
"Really? How did you do it?" Quinlan whistled, trying to imagine delicate looking Jasmine doing that kind of work. Was she stronger than she looked, like Erik? Erik surprised him every so often that way.

"Now Erik, you know I'm hardly a woman who asks for help. I'm still getting use to having company that's not undead." She smiled at her friend as they ate and listened to Jasmine bubble about her home.
"I just worked really hard. I've always been good at building things, mother always says so." Jasmine finished her dinner and once everyone else was done she started handing out pieces of cake.

"Perhaps not, but there's nothing wrong in asking for help occasionally, even if it's against your normal habits." Erik pointed out, gesturing with his fork as dinner evolved into desert. Just half undead He added, in his own head, to her last statement.
"Mmm. I'm sure." Quinlan did an excited drum roll on the table as Jasmine handed out cake. "Was it fun to build?"

"Oh yes it was so much fun! I got to look at books for ideas and I had to draw it all out first. Then mother showed me how to make measurements match the drawing. It was so neat to see something I drew come to life!" Jasmine was so into telling about her how she nearly forgot to eat her cake.
"I know Erik, perhaps next time, should I recieve any more orbs, I will ask for your assistance." She smiled and placed an hand on his before going back to eating her cake and listen to her eldest prattle on about her new home.
