The sun was setting nicely... however slowly. Godric stared at the sky,... gold to orange, crowned with a dark, dusky purple.
His wings flickered. He'd been told that Dusk was,.. 'his' time of day... by his appearance.
Of course, since the male could not exactly see himself, bar his reflection in the water, he could not agree, nor disagree.
Godric let out a half sigh. He'd been.. very bored lately. He had very little interaction with other Soquili over all,... so lately, he'd been bored.. Out of his mind.
His tail flicked once, and he patted at the ground with a fore-hoof for a moment. ...Perhaps tonight I will finally meet someone,.. Interesting?

Constant travellings of the area around her home had left Maharet with - if not a sense of calm about going out on her own, at least the knowledge that she was so sure of her surroundings that she could slip away and hide at a moments cause for alarm. The mare still walked with all senses alert, wings tensed to take flight if needed though and bumping into another of her kind still set her heart fluttering in panic. After all, if it wasn't Izusa, might it not be another coerced into finding her by the Kalona?
Neve had tried to quell her daughter's fears, with little success so far, and her mother had realised that Maharet would probably be always on edge, and she would have to let her find her own way through the slightly irrational fears.
The sun was setting, and Maharet always tried to be somewhere safe by nightfall, so she hurried on swift legs. As she went, there was a flash of something - someone? that she caught sight of in the corner of her eye. Heart-rate quickening she slowed, circling, not willing to allow whoever it was to track her home.. 'I see you!' she called, sounding far bolder than she felt. She figured that if she caught whoever it was's attention, by the time they got too close she could have figured out if they were aggressive or not and be gone before they were upon her.

His movements completely came to a halt. He heard the voice of another, and it made him blink. Was that directed towards him? Godric looked around, and his gaze fell upon that of another mare, not to far away. Again, he blinked, glancing around him, in every direction, though he saw no other Soq besides himself.
Uh.. "I see,... You.. Too..?" He replied back to the mare, not exactly sure how else to answer to that. He took a few steps forward,... before pausing, then a few mare. The mare had both a dark coat, and a light mane. And... like himself.. Wings, resting against her back. At the thought of her wings, His own twitched. Now, they where,.. perhaps about 10 feet apart, and he just blinked at her, before smiling, and dipping his head. "Hello,"

'Hiya,' Maharet replied back, feeling foolish. She was just so paranoid. Seeing her grandmother everywhere, and making an idiot of herself to perfect strangers.
'Ground never does open up and swallow you when you want it to, does it?' she said with a nervous grin, her ears still swivelling occasionally as she strained for noises of anyone approaching. 'I was expecting..well someone else, that's all. I don't like to be snuck up on.' she explained.
'Anyway, I'm sure you think I'm very silly and I shall just slink away.' she looked around her, seeing which way she should go.

Godric could only blink. What.. was with this mare? She seemed very nervous.. distracted... He tried his hardest to understand what the mare was rambling about... thought it was useless. Though, he did easily understand the last bit she said.
"Wait.. What? No... You don't have to leave." He blinked at her. ",..You're not silly at all," He lied,.. though it sounded very truthful. He didn't want to hurt a mare's feelings...
He didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings...
Godric just watched her now, blinking a few times. She was a little.. coocoo. But... ...But.. But what? The stallion blinked once more.

Maharet had managed to get a control over her thudding heart and swift breath, shaking the layers of her mane out and fluffing up her wing feathers. 'I know I was.' she said, keeping her gaze trained on the stallion, instead of trying to contantly look around herself.
'You don't mind I stay?' her voice lowered and she whispered in an almost conspiritorial fashion. 'You should know, there is danger in these woods.' Never mind that she'd not even seen her Grandmother around, nor had her mother scented or seen her, but Maharet was convinced that she was out there, and she wanted to remove her daughter's tainted spawn.

Blink blink... Blink... Strange... very, strange mare indeed. "Of course I don't mind that you stay..." He said softly, glancing around. He then eyed her. "Danger? There's dangers everywhere, not just in the wood. We live with danger right before us." He shrugged.
Truly, what was up with this mare? Mares always confused him, but this one took the cake.

'I will stay. Safety, safety in numbers, and you have..you're not. Kalona.' she managed to say the word with only the smallest of shudders. She supposed that at least he wasnt clueless, it was good that he knew that the world wasnt a fluffy, safe place, but had he really just shrugged about it!?
'You have danger within your family, as I do?' she asked, drawing away again, listening to their surroundings as she spoke, always listening.

Godric just blinked a few more times, nodding when she made her mention of safety in numbers. It was true, he'd come to find.
But then her question came up. Or her assumption, whatever it was. "I don't have a family at all," He murmured,... his tone actually seeming to get a bit softer. He didn't have a family, never had, really. He was separated from his parents at a young age... so the luxury of having a safe, caring family around him... hadn't really been an option. "So I can't say I have danger in mine," he finally added, smiling a bit. At a time like that? ..Thats Godric for you.

'You are very lucky then,' Maharet replied, ceasing her movements, and instead opting to stay still and merely listen to their surroundings, in between talking to the other winged.
'I sometimes wonder if I might have been..well not as I am, if my mother's mother wasn't as dangerous as she is.' she flicked an ear, looking properly at him for the first time.
'Not even parents? How is that?'

"I dunno if I'd call it luck... I think it depends on the family..." he said, that smile still lingering on his lips... perhaps to somehow lighten the mood a little? Godric then shrugged a bit, "My parents and I were seperated when I was very little, so I sort of grew up on my own.. Not an easy life, trust me," He pointed out, in somehow, an almost childish tone. His mind flipped back a second, to her comment a moment ago. "Who is your.. Mother's, Mother anyway?" he asked, blinking a few curious times.

'I have a loving mother and a loving father, don't get me wrong.' Maharet said slowly, as if sorting out the thoughts before speaking them. How to explain to someone who had no family how bad hers was?
'But you never grew up in fear of your life from your own Grandmother did you?' she pressed, her wings fluttering a little in agitation at the mere thought of her grandparent.
'She's a Kalona, named Izusa..' she whispered the name fearfully, as if to say it was to bring her wrath down upon them both. 'She attacked my mother before I was born, she said she would be coming after all her tainted children, and I know she'll want to kill me for how I look.'

A Kalona? ...I had a feeling... He'd heard about Kalonas in the past... In truth he'd even met a few... though not all of them where as bad as they came off to be. Of course, there were still those bad Kalona out there. Maybe this mare's Grandmother really was one of the Bad'uns. He listened as the other spoke, furrowing his brows a bit in the process.
"...She attacked your mother?...Not exactly a very nice Mother then, is she?" He blinked.. then mentally hit himself. That was kinda the point the mare was trying to put across. He shook his head quickly, side to side. "Naha... well.. Obviously shes not.... If you say she wants to kill you.." He said, before exhaling slightly. After a moment, he pondered over something. "But.. How do you really know that your Grandma really wants to kill you, and she's not just... Trying to live up to that Kalona name? I've heard of a few Kalonas that do that... "I mean, she is your Grandmother afterall... She might love you guys somehow, inside her..."

'Well no,' Maharet responded politely, not pointing out that was what she had been saying, though maybe he'd guessed straight after he'd actually said the words.
'Well, I only have the word of my mother. And she has the scars from the attack. My Grand-mother is a killer..she kills other animals, and my mother says it wouldn't be much for her to go from hunting to eat, to killing her children. Neve, my mother, knows that her mother would do it. It's not for show.'
Maharet shook her head firmly; 'We're tainted, my father is a grounded, my mother should have never even put up with him, let alone fall in love and have a family with him. Our grand-mother will not love us.'
