yo people. i have a tippmann 98 custome with a responce trigger and a cyclone feed. when i first start shooting it shoots fine. but after about 100 shots or so the gun starts goin crazy. it will automaticly fire like it does when your out of co2 but i have a full tank. it wont stop until i stop it myself by re cocking it.

when i go to my local paintball feilds i notice sometimes the rentals , which are 98 customes, do the same thhing. they tell the person to go get another one. i have swaped out the powertube and complete valve with new ones, and i replaced everything thats comes in the parts kit.

i dont think its the sear or the bold cuz they both look fine and not worn at all. i know its not something inside the gun freezing up cuz i got a remote and a expansion chamber. i know its nothing to do with the cyclone feed or the response trigger cuz it does the same thing when i disconnect them.

after i shoot about 100 shots with the response trigger the air starts to cut out to the response trigger and the cyclone feed and about another 100 shots later if i shoot fast it will start shooting crazy.

mess around with it alot now and i think its the co2. when i do all that and switch guns to my spyder it will do the same thing with that same co2. any ideas??

i don't remember the exact fix but the problem is that your sear isn't catching. There is a certain way to grind down the sear and stop the machine gunning. My local field had that problem with seventy percent of their rentals. Its a failry quick fix if you know how to do it.

oh yeah i know this gun inside and out but i checked the sear and it dont look grinded at all. it still looks pretty sharp. when it does the machine gunning the bolt dosnt go back enough to even catch the sear.

Hmm... I'm not sure what your problem is... i had a response trigger on my 98 custom too. Never had this problem other than when the sear didn't catch. my only advice is to take it to a local pro-hop and see what they can tell you.

well, using common sense, I'd say It'd be something to do with your air flow.

of course I don't know much about the 98's.

well i bought an hpa tank so ill see if its better when the tank gets here. now for my next problem. is it pointless to keep my expansion chamber on?

If you're using HPA then chances are, your response trigger won't work. CO2 is the best bet for maximum performance with a tippmann and the only option when it comes to using a response trigger...

well, your problem is surely that the sear isn't catching the bolt.
-take the gun apart to make sure the sear's in place, find out why it isn't catching.
-check the bolt and make sure it goes back far enough and wasy enough to catch on the sear.
this could also be a malfunction with your board. if it's telling the gun to shoot, then it's going to shoot.
-remove the hand frame and shoot like you would if you were on the feild and had this happening.

there could be some misread directions in the board. if you have a tournament lock, make sure it's in properly.

if the bolts not going back all the way, check all of your lines and pressure throughout the gun.

ok i got an hpa tank and it took care of the proble. my gun really dont like co2 i guess. and oh yeah the response trigger works better than ever so whoever said the response trigger wont work with hpa is full of bs. but, i do still have a problem with my cyclone feed. it stops turning when i shoot fast. it works fine at a slower steady pace but when i start shooting faster it stops all together. when i slow down again it starts working fine. heres a video of it:
