The last of the suns colors snuffed out, as its decent into the earth was complete. The canvas of stars began to twinkle over Ayelets head. She watched them as her eyes scanned about. It seemed that this was one of the nights, where the moon would not make an appearance. It seemed to take a break every now and again, only to appear back the next night.
Taking in a deep breath, she started to walk out of the forest. Until recently, she had possessed a fear of the forest. Now, she journeyed into it on occasion, with no problem.
The land was particularly dark without any of the moons light. She strained her eyes on the ground, being sure to avoid any rocks.

Wings spread and the wind blowing past her Adelle glided through the air as long as the sun's light was still showing itself. It had been a long time since she had gone flying and she quite missed it. Though as the light faded quickly she glided down towards the ground and made a graceful landing just as the first of the stars twinkled over head. With her landing the soft jingle of bells rang gently and continued to ring as she walked now.
With the sky now dark with the exception of the twinkling stars the mare was glad she had landed when she did. For if she had stayed longer in the sky there would have been no moon's light to help guide her landing. She paid no mind to rocks on the ground as she walked. Keeping her eyes forward and ears flitting about to listen for any sound above the soft ringing of her bells. Many stories had been told to her of creatures that walked in the moonless nights and she for certain did not want to come across any of them.

Ayelet hadn't seen a rock in a few paces, so her eyes turned up towards their nightly home in the sky. Drawing a deep breath into her lungs, she sighed into the night. The stars were at their brightest when the moon was resting.
Absorbed in the stars twinkle, she had stopped walking. As she stood still, one ear twisted to the side with the slightest twinkle of a noise. She cocked her head to the side at the stars. Did they jingle with their twinkle? Surely not, or she would of noticed it before.
She listened again, and this time it seemed as if the noise was more constant, and closer.
"Hello?" she called out into the night, not sure if anyone was even out there.

The winged mare continued to flit her ears about as she walked at a now more brisk pace. The bells picking up their ringing as she did. On nights like tonight she was glad to have her bells as they comforted her while she walked this moonless night. Hearing a 'hello' called out she stopped suddenly and stared in the direction the call came from.
"Hello?" Adelle tentatively called back hoping it wasn't some creature about ready to pounce and eat her. "Who's there?" She also asked thinking it was better to know what was going to eat her then let it be a surprise. Though she was certainly hoping that this 'thing' that she was formulating in her imagination to be this horrible creature with claws and big teeth and covered in fur. She couldn't help it. Her guardians when she was little warned her of such things should she have ever decided to move south.

Her ears listened as she heard a call back. Another mares voice no doubt. She turned to follow the sound. It seemed she was fairly close. Turning around a corner, she could make out a silhouette of a soquili. "Hi." she greeted softly from where she stood. She couldn't help but wonder if she had heard the sound too.
"I'm not sure, but I think it's just me." she replied. "I heard a light sound, but it seems to have stopped for the moment." How odd that it had. She was curious now.
