It is up to the style of the player. Which do you do? Social commands? Or create your own with emotes?

If you utilize the socials programmed into your favorite MUD, are there any that are unique or just plain funny?

Both, really, depending on the situation. Emotes can be easily added into conversation and add spice to plain dialogue =)

I perfer emoting, looks better generally.

Er. Last time I played, I think I favored emoting more than the social commands. Although I do tend to type some social commands on occasion.

The MUD I play has a plethora of social commands, and I am discovering new ones to use daily. Thus, I tend to use those more often than emotes. Being the RP is not enforced, not too many players find that emoting is a necessary skill

However, I am caught emoting every now and then to get a point across.

I pretty much favor Emotes over Socials. I've played many Muds where the Socials were so utterly and completely random it wasn't even tolerable. I like to play without having someone repeatedly throwing a God Modded Social Snowball in my face when I'm RPing or Crafting...in the freakin' DESERT!!! Yeah, I don't hate socials, but I rarely go outside the basics: sleep-stand-hop-rest-smile-nod-hop-hug-snuggle-nuzzle-smirk-snicker-grin-gasp-chuckle-mutter-jig-roll-rassberry-cough-yell-think-ponder-cuddle-faint-stare-glare-snarl-growl-howl-point-wave-beam-flutter-blush-say-whisper-cry-whine-shake-kiss-sneeze...

Guess it depends on weither the Mud is RP or not. I haven't seen many elaborate social commands, save for the few Muds I can count on one hand. I like the idea of racial specific socials, however. That I like...
