< Come on, come on! Let's goooo! > Rioke was impatient, tugging at her sister's hand as she glanced with longing eyes towards the open port that led into the internet and the undiscovered mysteries beyond. Ever since they'd hatched and surprised Xinai a couple of days ago, she'd been careful to keep them away from the internet by simply disconnecting it whenever she wasn't around. Today, she'd completely forgotten to do so in her hurry to rush out the door to get to class on time.
The fault couldn't be put entirely at Xai's door, however. The night before, Rioke had, with the help of Kiore, fiddled somewhat with Xai's cellphone alarm to make sure that it didn't ring.
Though they were hatched from the same egg, the two sisters were very different. While Kiore was the smarter of the two, Rioke was the one that took the lead. She was always full of mischief, ready to get her young self in as much trouble as possible. Kiore often took a little persuading, being shy of nature, but could usually be talked - or dragged - into her sister's wild schemes. This latest scheme, to explore cyberspace without Xai's guidance, was definitely the craziest one yet.
< Hurry up, sis! > Pouting a little with impatience at her sister's lack of attention she tugged at Kiore's arm again, this time pulling hard enough to unbalance them both. Unable to catch her balance in time, Rioke fell backwards into the open port, dragging Kiore with her.
Kiore barely managed to suppress a squeal as she tumbled head over heels, bouncing a few times before coming to a stop. Her pale green body trembled slightly as she took in her new surroundings. < !!! >
Turning to Rioke, who was just picking herself up, she sent a quick message in rebuke. < I wasn't ready! And you know, Xai will be upset if she comes back and finds us gone. We'll get in trouble again. > Kiore hated to get in trouble. It always made her feel bad, and she was scared that Xai would just lock them away if they ever became a nuisance. It wasn't that Xai was mean or anything, in fact she was quite the opposite, but...
Kiore abruptly realized that she was talking to the air as she saw the flicker of a pale blue tail rounding a corner and dissappearing from sight. < Hey! Wait for me! >
Looking neither left nor right, Kiore moved as fast as she could, trying to keep up.
Rioke giggled as she received Kiore's last message. This was so much fun! Pausing to wait for her sister, she fleetingly wondered if there were any others like them in cyberspace. Although Xai had mentioned others of her kind, she hadn't ever said anything about how to find them. Deciding it couldn't hurt, she gathered all the energy she could and did the digital equivalent of a shout.
< Hello, is anyone out there? >

He'd been told to keep a low profile, of that he knew was certain.
He'd been told to stay out of the way, out of the systems and away from others, until he'd be contacted to get to work on what needed done. Of that, he was most certain as well.
But it was so damn boring.
So, skipping out on what he'd really been told to do, the ghost-like figure took into his pleasure a means of hopping about the vast amount of servers that were at his disposal. The number, in a way, was infinite thanks to the main shop being connected to the web at all times, and he found a strange sense of pleasure in the ability to seamlessly move online and offline without having to hack his way into a connection.
Not that having to hack his way anywhere was a bad thing, as he'd rather come to enjoy that needed bit in his everyday routine. It kept his skills sharp, and his sister often spoke to him and said that he would need to get better for what was coming up. She wouldn't go into more detail, of course, but he supposed it had something to do with the reason he'd made it back into the headquarters mainframe without a hitch.
But what was there to do now? Sure, he could destroy some files and rearrange a few of the necessary components that held the firewall on this server steady, but that would certainly let someone know he was there - even if he tried to fix it. That stupid man the shop had hired as their repair and protective engineer was a little too good at his job, for his tastes, and he didn't feel like facing him again...just yet.
So he floated about in a singular area, trying to decide if he should simply just pop back off the internet and head around to a server and bunker down, but his thoughts were scattered when a message not unlike a scream reached his ears.
And he smiled.
< Yes. >
He shot back, though as a whisper instead of a shout. There was no need for him to try and figure out the location of the scream, it was already something he'd gained in that moment.
< Yes, I am here. >

In one of her lonely wandering, Enya - a little red Hacker - was roaming cyberspace again. She had grown quite attached to this empty space where random binary sources showed up as it was usually deserted. In here she could do anything she felt like without having Thyra pestering about. But this time? She wasn't alone. From a distance she could see several others gathering to this place; from the looks they were all Hackers. And a scream rushed its way towards her.
< o.o >
Without sending any reply back she curiously came closer to have a better look at the gathering of Hackers. No Thyra, no Terra. Who were these unknown Hackers?

< !!! > Kiore jumped as someone responded to Rioke's reckless shout. Though it was a whisper, Kiore could hear it as clearly as if the Hacker who had responded was standing right next to her. Grabbing onto Rioke's hand for support, she looked around, eyes wide in anticipation.
The question slipped out by accident. < Where are you? >
Surprised by her own voice, Kiore winced as the question seemed to hang in the air. Catching a flash of red, she turned and noticed a small red Hacker floating towards them. Frowning slightly for she knew with a certainty that this was not the Hacker who had responded to her sister's shout, she tugged on Rioke's hand to grab her attention.
< Look, sis, there's someone else here! >
Rioke was a little apprehensive now that someone had actually responded to her impulsive shout. What exactly was out there? The response had been made with such accuracy and control that it scared her a little, and she wasn't entirely sure that she could take care of herself, let alone Kiore. And where Kiore was concerned, she had a protective streak a mile wide. It just always managed to come second whenever there was a chance to do something fun and crazy.
Her sister's excited voice broke into Rioke's thoughts. Tightening her hand on Kiore's as if she could dispel her worries by doing so, she turned and followed the direction of her sister's gaze.
< Wow. > Rioke studied the little hacker approaching them.
Unlike her sister, she believed that this was the Hacker that had responded to them earlier. Becoming less worried now that she could see that the Hacker was about the same size as them and just as hesitant, she called out towards the red Hacker.
< Hello! Don't be shy, who are you? >

Although they weren't sending messages out and around anymore, he was still able to catch what they were saying to one another to pinpoint a more exact spot of their location. That wasn't a difficult task, as he'd known from the very moment their message went out, but he liked to double check just in case he had to covers his tracks. There was never any reason NOT to be careful.
< Heh heh. >
That message wasn't sent, as it stayed in the area with him, and the ghost-like figure slowly jumped from the server and page he was on towards the one inhabited by the two, no three now that he read it, Children. Children were of no threat to him, and as such that they were young they would probably have no idea who he was. It made for an all the better use of them.
Appearing on the very outcrop of the area, far enough away that the Children couldn't see him but he could certainly see them, the Elder Hacker Tsuki smiled from behind his folded hands.

((Tsuki O_o;; ))
So it seemed these hackers had sent the shout. Slowly she came a bit closer, rather shy than curious now. They were children, so in general not really a thread to her as she only distrusted adults - due to Thyra's doing.
< Hey... >
She took another step closer, watching the two hackers with more curiousity again.
< I'm. Enya. Who are you? > < o.o >

Rioke was happy to see the new Hacker coming to join them, and her enthusiasm expressed itself as a < =D! > above her head. Her eyes were shining with interest as she looked over the other Hacker, mentally making a comparison between herself and Enya to see if there were any obvious differences between them other than color. She'd never seen another Hacker other than her sister up close before, and was a little surprised to realize that other than coloring, she and Enya looked exactly the same.
< Enya... that's an awesome name. I'm Rioke, and this is my sister, Kiore. We've never been out here before, it's so cool! Are there other Hackers around too? Do you know any? Do you come here often? Are there any interesting places that you can take us to? Wanna go exploring with us? Oh wowI'msoexcited..!! >
Her childish enthusiasm took over and released a flood of questions that tumbled out, appearing so quickly in the textbox that it seemed almost instantaneous.
One hand still holding Kiore's, she unhesitatingly took a couple of steps closer to the new Hacker. The other's shyness went completely unnoticed as she reached out with her free hand towards Enya. < Come play somewhere with us! > she repeated, already forgetting that she'd asked a torrent of questions only moments before.
Although her sister seemed completely carefree and confident, Kiore was trembling inside. She was now sure that the Hacker who had responded to her sister's initial query was not, in fact, the one that was standing in front of them, and she wondered who, and where the other Hacker was. There had been power in the voice that had whispered back, and something sinister that even Kiore could sense.
Reluctantly dragged a couple of steps towards Enya by Rioke, she raised her head and looked around, trying to see if anyone else had joined them. Though she couldn't see anyone, she found herself trying one last time to reach the unidentified Hacker.
< Where are you? >
Kiore sent the message in the direction opposite from where Enya had approached, unconsciously sending it as a whisper that went unnoticed by the other two that were near her. She didn't want to alarm them, and it looked like Rioke was really enjoying herself.

The whisper didn't go unnoticed to Tsuki's ears as Kiore shyly sent it off in the opposite direction of where he was, but he picked the message up none the less. It was so cute in regards to his standards, the Childlike innocence and a little bit of worry wrapped into her few words.
As he watched the interactions of the trio before him, he couldn't help but want to play a prank with them. They were so young, so innocent, so....stupid. Should anything they didn't know start to occur, he wondered how violently they would react. Not violent in terms of injuring one another, of course, but violent in terms of being a bit too extreme.
So with the idea of playing a prank, on perhaps all three later but for now on just the small curious and cautious one, Tsuki sent back a whisper to Kiore.
< Wrong way. I'm over here. <3 >
He made sure to send the message to her with the source a bit off from where he actually was, the game he was starting to play only beginning.

The flood of letters in the textbox made the hacker frown for a second. She never knew it was possible to put that many characters in such a tiny bubble.
< o.o >
Not replying to any of the questions, she stared at the two and smiled when she heared their names. Quickly she picked up the slight difference - and familiarity - in the letter swap.
< You're names are quite alike. > < <(^^)> > < I'm. I think I'll swap your names a few times because of it. >
She nodded and gave a hand.
< What game should we play? > < =D >

Kiore started at the whisper that came back in her direction. Although she had been trying to reach the hidden Hacker, she hadn't expected him or her to respond. The heart attached to the end of the message unnerved her; she couldn't help but wonder as to why someone who would put a heart at the end of a sentence would hide themselves.
< Who are you? Why are you hiding? > She sent the message back in a whisper.
Curiosity overcame her usual shyness as she let go of Rioke's hand and headed towards the direction she'd felt the message had come from. Taking a few steps, she looked around again, hoping to see or find something that had escaped her notice before.
< Please come out... You're scaring me. >
The last part slipped out without design, and Kiore blushed in embarrassment, wanting to turn back to Rioke. But her sister was busily chatting to the new Hacker, and she knew from experience that Rioke would not be happy if she interrupted. Shivering a little as she considered the wide expanse of nothingness in front of her, she awaited a response.
Rioke stared thoughtfully after Kiore as she headed away from them. Her sister was acting strangely, stranger than usual. She was about to follow her when Enya's chat bubble beeped again. Turning back to face her, Rioke dismissed all thoughts of Kiore from her head. Here was someone who wanted to play!
< Let's play hide & seek! I've always wanted to play it, but Kiore never wants to. =D! Do you know what it is? Xai - she's the one who takes care of us - says it's a human game, and sometimes she'll play it with me on the computer, but it's not as fun as it would be if i played with another Hacker... >
Suddenly nervous, worried that she was assuming too much of her new playmate, Rioke paused. < Well... We don't have to play if you don't want to... > The distinctly uncharacteristic comment was followed by a < ?? > as she became more anxious, desperately wanting to befriend Enya.

< You're going the wrong way, I'm over here. <3 >
Tsuki sent out a message once more, this one actually a little closer to his actual location. He was delighted to see one of the three, the most timid out of them as he suspected, let go of the protective hand she'd been holding and venture forward a bit. A few more steps, he bargained for, until she'd be close enough for him to get to.
If those girls really wanted to play hide and seek, which is what he gathered from the unneeded amount of chatter they were doing, he would give them a game of hide and seek.
On his terms.
< Or am I over here? There's a lot of places I could actually be. >
The message he sent this time, the soft whisper, was sourced to be directly at Kiore's side, more specifically her left elbow. What he was wanting the child to do was take a few more steps forward, perhaps in panic, and turn around.
With her back turned she would be easy to pick off. So easy. For the other two, that chattered away aimlessly, he'd make plans as it came.

Enya's eyes shifted from one hacker to another. While the first one seemed to say so many things at once, the other was totally silent. Following Kiore with her eyes as the hacker took a few steps away, her curiosity slightly wondered if the silent hacker had found something of interest. Her mind, however, didn't last long under Rioke's quick massive talking and she set her eyes back on Rioke.
< It sounds fun, but how do you play it? >
She'd never heared of hide-and-seek, although the name sounded pretty obvious what the game was about. Raven played games with her, for sure, but never came up with a game named like that.

< Hide and seek... We take turns! The first person counts to ten, while the other person hides wherever they can during that time. Once the ten seconds is up, then they have to try and find the one who hid. If they can, then they do it again. If not, then they switch roles. =)! >
Rioke was jumping around with barely controlled excitement at the thought of playing hide and seek with someone new. < Do you want to go first? Or should I? Or maybe.. >
Her eyes lighted up with mischief as she spyed Kiore a few steps away from them. < Kiore! Wanna play hide and seek? >
She knew that her sister was terrible at the game, always hiding in places that were easy to guess for anyone who knew her. It had been one of the reasons why Kiore had stopped wanting to play, but now that Rioke wanted to impress Enya, she hoped that Kiore would join in so that Rioke could look smart.
< ??! > Rioke's question made Kiore jump, and she barely managed to keep her balance as she floated up a foot into the air.
Kiore glanced at Enya, and back at Rioke before slowly shaking her head. < No, thanks. You two go ahead... there's something I want to see over there. > She pointed in the vague direction that the messages had come from.
The mysterious Hacker had seemed so close to her the second time, but his words had been so cryptic. Kiore didn't question why she thought of the Hacker as a male, but she was almost certain that she was right. Turning in the direction that she'd pointed to, Kiore resumed her survey of the surrounding area, reluctant to continue further. Curiosity only stretched so far, and it was difficult for her to ignore the vague feeling of unease that affected her whenever the messages came.
Her tail twitched in agitation as she stood there, uncertain. It made no sense to her that someone would hide unless there was something wrong, or they were playing a game like the ones Rioke loved so much. Using the now-familiar method of whispering, she tried again in a tiny voice, < why won't you come out? Are you hiding because something's wrong? >

< Just a little bit more. I'm right in front of you <3 >
Tsuki was speaking a bit more of the truth this time, as he had made a closer dash towards the Child when she'd suddenly jumped into the air out of surprise at the sudden comment from her sister, but he had to take at least a dozen or so steps back when she landed and turned to speak to them. He probably could have grabbed her mid-word and whisked her away fairly easily, but that might have ended badly with her screaming before he was able to completely get away.
It wouldn't have been a problem, however, as he felt that there were no Hackers about the Child level around, himself being the only Elder currently on the server or at least this section of the Internet. He'd felt Purin for a while and they'd been chatting before he'd taken up the offer from Rioke to come here, and for some reason her signal had disappeared completely and he figured she must have gotten offline and back to her desktop position.
< If you can find me, I'll come out and play with you. How does that sound? >
What manner of play he had in mind he didn't specify, and Tsuki could only wickedly grin behind his curled fingers. Just a little more now, only a little more.

The Child listened attentively to the hacker's explanation and nodded. Hide. And seek. It was as easy as the name sounded. Someone searched those who were hidden.
< That's an easy game. >
She waited for Kiore's response and shrugged as the hacker denied to play with them. While hide and seek might have been more interesting with her, Enya counted in a rather logical way. One to hide, one to seek: the game could be played with just two of them.
< I don't mind searching for you. >
