Urgh, i wasn't aware of it.
But even so, when i play AV Horde always wins (May not be the case 100% of the time so stfu "OMG NO THATS NO TRUE" type people, this is my experience), so they may be pissed off.

People seem to think that AV is weighted against allies, but I can't see how, I mean it's slightly slower for them to get to bs, but it's slightly quick for them to get to stables than it is for the horde to get to the farm.

In my battlegroup there is but one rule.

Before midnight, the horde will win 90% of their games.
After midnight, the horde lose 100% of their games to premades with full t6 or s3 gear.

You're thinking of AB Duo.

AV, I'm not sure why/if there's an boycott going on.

Wow.. makes me glad I'm in the Ruin battlegroup.
I recently did two AVs because it was the daily PVP quest.
We, allies, lost the first one because Horde did a premade somehow and all the allies got disheartened and tried to defend.. insta loss.
We won the second one because we had a group with the right idea, charge ahead and hope for the best at the end after claiming the GY.

I sure as hell hope you mean AB though.. 'cause, last I heard, AV was stacked in favour of the allies unless they changed it.. and AB is stacked in favour of the horde.
Of course, both those statements are viewed from the perspective of opposite faction.
In AB, allies lose 90% of the time and there's always talk of a premade going on in trade channel but apparantly you need to have 200resil to join so that leaves everyone out who prefers dungeons to BGs. lol

I've heard of an informal AV boycott by some Alliance because of:

a) Players getting sick of fellow Alliance not even trying to use strategy
b) Players getting sick of AFKers and Blizzard not doing anything about them
c) The dramatic decrease in honor when Alliance loses now, as opposed to the honor Horde got when they lost pre-patch. Apparently Horde used to get between 500-700 honor even if they lost in AV before the 2.3 patch, and now Alliance gets 0 or 100 honor if they lose.

I don't play AV myself. This is just what I"ve seen on forums (the official ones, Elitist Jerks), Live Journal communities, and talking to people in-game.

Wut?

Most battlegroups suffer these issues:

1. Too many AFK/bots. Before 2.3 Horde had more now they've clogged the Alliance games.

2. Idiots go to Galv first and never make it to IBGY. Now the Horde actually have been blocking the route to galv by waiting at the bottom of Snowfall. So all the Alliance spawns up north while the Horde plow their way through.

3. Alliance get hissy and fight each other a lot. ><

4. Balinda is a cake walk compared to Galv.

5. Val is said to be easier then Drek. I don't know this one but the statement above I can promise because I play both Horde and Alliance.

6. No honor for over twenty minutes of BS.

^

This is the reason why I don't sign up myself. Before, I was comforted even with losing I might make some but some games just have an average of less then 60 honor. Horde is getting 600 because nothing has been capped and Galv lives. I get sick of this. So I just que for AB or EoTS where I know even if I lose I am probably getting more honor and getting it quicker then the new Alliance turtles.

Some battlegroups win it though. /jealous

Okay, what does "imba" mean? And apparently they don't in enough battlegroups that people got disgusted enough to sit it out.

Yup, pretty much what I've heard. I hate #3; the times I've been in WSG that we won have all had the same thing -- very little or no trash-talking of fellow players.

'Imba' is sort for imbalanced. It comes from Diablo, some axe, I believe. There's a grey weapon in WoW called a 'Balanced Axe' as a throw-back to it.

boycott? hmmm.. haven't heard of it.

I think mainly cause Alliance on my battlegroup don't like to listen to simple instruction and just do their own thing sad

sometimes we get a premade (it is possible when all member just sign up for a single server like battleground 1 or something) and win. right now in AV it is more like 30% win 70% lost for alliance sad at least for me on random and I do play AV a lot since I get more honor than AB or WSG or EotS

they dislike it due to npc problems

our people can be downed by half a team if that ((ally))

horde takes full team to down

they are trying to fix it
PostPosted: Mon Jan 14, 2008 4:44 pm

They dislike it because it requires them to change their ******** strategy and that's WAYYYyy too much work. :/

The Horde on our server wants to boycott everything BUT AV. What a joke.

I'm on the horde, and my battlegroup won one AV yesterday. It was a Bleeding Hollow premade.
