The black and white lioness had spent most of the last three weeks away from what she considered 'home,' always the wandering away type Jedi had started to feel the contractions of labor on one of her many journeys to the open. After the first incident there she took a 'well the worse has already happened' approach to justify leaving; of course her sister was none to happy about this, but she needed it, for her sanity.
Baby girl had come, it was an easy labor, but one she did not plan on dealing with alone. She had not named her daughter and for the most part all she could do was stare at the nursing ball of fur and in amazment she did not see the other, the monster, she saw herself and her family within the little creature. Determined to get the little thing home Jedi did a stop and start approach, anytime she thought baby needed anything she would stop but for the most part she walked with the tiny thing in her maw, gently clinging to its fur, thankfully she was not far, she did not reach the open before Baby came.
The familiar call of the waterfall made Jedi's slow and steady speed turn into a light jog, excited to show off her work, and even more to make sure that Baby was safe, she set the white mass of fur down and called out.
"Jedi, are you home?" And please don't mad I've been missing, she added inwardly.The creamy colored cub let out a squeak to match an older cubs roar as her mother sped up and then abruptly set her down. Silly caring creature, what in the world are you doing? The cub thought, not sure what exactly was happening around her. Big blue glazed over eyes peered around the surrounding area, bu from her vantage point saw nohing. And what is the loud sound?

Janja had a lot to deal with, especially after the incident with Jedi. She wasn't entirely sure how her very pregnant sister had managed to escape her, but she was very, very upset about it. Jedi came to help her, to be with her.. and not only had Janja let something horrible happen, but she'd let her poor sister go off while pregnant. If Hayate was not there to help her, and if Nasibu and Kileji did not need her so, she might have gone off to look for Jedi in earnest. But she'd had to settle for keeping her eyes and ears open, hoping Jedi would return so that Janja could give her an earful.
Of course, being so smart, Janja realized the irony of her freaking out about Jedi running off when they had done the exact same thing to their parents. She knew if she never found Jedi again, she really couldn't go back to their parents. Oh but when Jedi came back, no matter how ironic it would be, Janja was going to give her sister a piece of her mind. Just like she expected their parents would do when they finally did go home.
When Jedi happened to come home, everyone was away from the den. Everyone except for Janja, and she assumed that the cubs were off playing and that possibly Hayate was off playing with at least one of them. She wasn't too far from the den when Jedi called out for her, the familiar voice catching her attention immediately. Very quickly she weaved through the trees and stumbled out to the clearing around the waterfall and their den. The sight that greeted her made her already open mouth (ready to tell Jedi off for leaving) close. Jedi was considerably less pregnant looking, and had a very small white puff ball at her feet.
"Jedi," she mumbled in a hushed voice.

Jedi's blue eyes turned on Janja and she gave a small exhausted smile, looking back she considered her journey to be something of a mistake, giving birth and rushing home probably was not the best course of action, but she needed the comfort of Janja and the family, even seeing Hayate would make the new mother happy.
"Meet umm..well she does not have a name yet, but umm..welcome to the Aunt club, Janja," Her voice was tired but also filled with pride for her new offspring. Secretly Jedi had hope there was more than one, but after giving birth to Baby the lioness had to face the music, the weight she had gained was from eating and not from many babies.
"She's perfect isn't she, like Nasibu and Kileji, I thought being a new aunt was an exciting feeling, being a mommy..well..that's entirely different," Jedi murmured her eyes still watching Janja, she was hoping her sister was not too mad at her disappearing act.
New Baby mewed happily as if on cue when her mother finished her sentence. And turned her eyes on what was another form that looked much like her care giver. She mewed again to this new form, her vision still very milky as she adjusted to the surroundings.

Janja's eyes moved back and fourth between her sister and her newborn niece. It looked as if Jedi had just got up and run home after giving birth to the poor dear, Janja knew that she'd been quite tired after her cubs were born- poor Jedi must be running on adrenaline.. and the poor cub.
She still wanted to yell at Jedi, and she would eventually but now was clearly not the time for that. No, they had a cub to welcome into the family- and more importantly, they both had to rest up.
"You look like you haven't rested at all," she chided, walking over and nuzzling her sister affectionately, "You shouldn't have left." That last bit was added sadly, though she kept her frustration bottled up for now. Jedi would have been better off birthing at home, not walking all across creation carrying a newborn..
"What are you going to name her?" she asked, looking down to admire the cub. How very.. unique she was.

"I wanted her home, it was not smart," she pressed her face against Janja's shoulder but, she knew it was a mistake to walk away, but her need for the open was aggressive inside of her constantly calling to her.
"We slept at night, I was not too far away, it just too a little long because we had to stop so much, I took a week to just stay in one place but I was scared.." she mummbled, "Will you, I mean would you like to name her? I cannot come up with anything that seems decent enough." She looked at the brightly colored cub and smiled this was certainly an adventure, and this tiny creature had a world of love ahead of it.
"I thought about naming her after dad, but wasn't sure it fit..she does not seem like a Kiji, what do you think?"
Baby wibbled towards Jedi and Janja, her unsteady feet allowing her to walk cautiously towards the sisters.

Janja stayed by her sister's side, though she shook her head at Jedi's story. If she'd been at home, if she'd been anywhere she didn't have to worry about moving from so much.. she could be that much better off. But they were home now, that was what mattered. When Jedi asked if she wanted to name the baby, Janja was taken by surprise. Jedi had named Kileji, but Janja certainly hadn't expected to name Jedi's cubs.. especially where there was just the one.
"Are you sure?" she asked, looking from Jedi back down to the baby, "She really doesn't look much like a Kiji, I agree.."

"I don't think I could do her justice naming her, Kileji looked so sweet that his name came naturally, and I think it suits him...but Baby, she's so...so I don' know, I'm afraid," Jedi answered, "If you think you might know of something pretty that will fit, be my guest, or she'll be Baby forever."
Jedi leaned down and pressed her nose to Baby's side to show her that everything was alright, nuzzling against her tiny form, "You're the prettiest girl in the world," she whispered to the tiny fuzzball, "This is Janja, your Aunt Janja."
Baby mewed and pressed her form against the warmth of her mother's face and mewed again looking at her Janja.

Janja finally stepped back so they could have a proper conversation about this, smiling as she watched her sister lean down and talk to the beautiful little girl at her feet. It was a relief to see that Jedi was so happy despite how the little one had come about, though Janja expected nothing less for the cub. They were a good family, they always would be.. despite Janja's intense fear of admitting to her parents what had happened.. she did feel like they had a wonderful family.
"Baby won't do for too long," Janja said, shaking her head, "You should see how big Kileji and Nasibu have gotten since you left."
With that, Janja leaned down to get a better look at the baby. Smiling, she gently nuzzled her niece as well. Then she stuck close by the fuzzball, trying to think of a suitable name for her.

Jedi pulled away from her daughter as Janja leaned down to see her, she wanted Baby to be close to her aunt and to her mother. "Any suggestions at all?" She said in a sweet voice to Janja trying to sooth Baby's mewing and smiled at her.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, I'm sure you've got a lot to tell me about how mad you are, how are Kileji and Nasibu? I'm sure much bigger," She beamed she loved her niece and nephew very much and she felt a lot of pride to have such lovely lions as family.
Baby's mewing was soothed at her mother's voice but also because of the touch of another, this one was her Janja, that was a new concept to her and she accepted it readily, she liked her Janja. She batted at Janja's face and got her tiny claws caught in her aunt's fur.

Janja laughed quietly as the cub batted at her, getting her claws dug into the fur on her nose pretty good. Shaking her head gently to get the claws out, though they didn't really hurt from someone so small, she glanced back up at Jedi- giving her a nice, half-hearted glare.
"You bet I do, but now's not the time," she said, and looked back to the baby, "How about Antigone?" It was a pretty name, if nothing else.

"That sounds like a nice name," She answered nodding in agreement, "Little Antigone, welcome to the family Baby." Her knees wobbled in exhaustion and she tried her best to hide it from Janja, of course the older sister seemed to notice everything so it was possible that she had already noticed, unless of course she was distracted by Antigone.
Jedi feared the talk that Janja might have for her later, she understood that what she had done was similiar to what Janja herself had done, even if the reasoning was a little different, run off to have children. She wanted everything to be perfect but a small part of her recognized her attacker when she looked at Antigone, Baby.
Antigone as she was newly named let out an amused squeak and batted again at her Janja.

Janja smiled at Antigone once more before lifting up her head to give Jedi a stern look. Janja had quite the ego of her own, always having perceived herself as the boss. And now with her experience as a mother, well, there was no stopping her. She was quite unlike her own mother, though, for she was unafraid of discipline- perhaps it had come from the free reign she'd had, and always being that much bossier and getting away with it.
"I think," she said carefully, gaining an almost smug smile, "you and Antigone should take advantage of the fact that my hellions are not around and get some rest."
She winked at Jedi, and then looked back down to admire Antigone, "I'm sure they'll be very excited to see you both."

Jedi made a content sound deep in the back of her throat, Antigone was perfect, it sounded so unique nothing that the new mother would have been able to come up with on her own and she was happy that Janja liked her. Personally she did not know how anyone would be able to reject the sweet face of Antigone, who will forever in Jedi's head be called Baby, even when she's old and grey.
Jedi was quick to allow Janja to take control after all, the older sister had made many decisions for them both, and Jedi did not regret any of them. Jedi was not slow witted but she wasn't a genius either, she needed someone to help her make levelheaded decisions.
"I think you're right," she nodded and knelt down to pick up the tiny Antigone, she paused before grabbing him, "I can't wait to see their faces when they see her!" She happily snagged Antigone by the scruf and turned towards their sleeping area. As she moved her legs wobbled again and threatened to give out, embarrassed she looked at Janja for a little assistance, possibly she could lean agains her sister and the supported weight would allow her to move easier, "I think we got her in the knick of time, I'm very tired." she did not want to ask for help.

Janja nodded approvingly at Jedi when she agreed with the idea of going and resting, smiling at how excited she was to see Nasibu and Kileji again. Janja knew just how excited they would be to see their Aunt Jedi, too. When she saw her sister pick up the cub and sway, her immediate reaction was to move in at Jedi's side and stop her from toppling over. They would be very bad.
"Looks like it," Janja agreed, pressing against Jed's side so she knew that she could use her for support, "Let's get you into the den." And with that, she took a step towards their den, happy to lead the way.

(Just realized it would be hard to talk through a mouthful of Antigone, we'll assume she muttered this around Iggy. XD)
Antigone squealed aggressively in protest at being handled the way she was, concerned that she would be dropped, and feeling very insecure at her current situation, she was determined that her mother never pick her up like this again and she wriggled and kicked rapildy.
Jedi kept her hold on the runt as she tried to wrestle out of her mother's grasp and leaned on Janja, concerned for a fleeting moment that she was a little too large to be leaning on her sister, but the idea passd quickly as she followed Janja to their den. Sleep was a necessity, and she was sure that Antigone would need her sleep and was probably hungry as well.
