Butterfinger had wandered away from the packlands for a little while, he knew about having to keep moving so as not to deplete a fishing source. He had been anxious though, with a very poor sense of smell since birth Butterfinger never seemed to know what was coming next. Despite his faulty nose though he had at least this one skill he was proud of. Unlike his flirtatious and outgoing cousin, Musketeer, Butterfinger was reserved and quiet. He brought whatever he could into a conversation or group and let his brother handle the rest.
The yellow and orange wolf was downright unsociable, and so he had found this secluded little stream with it's hard to catch darting minnows and settled down to fish. "How peaceful..." He muttered to himself enjoying the babbling stream and never knowing another wolf could be nearby.

Fayina Tao moved swiftly on the opposite bank, though she was not in sight yet. She had been hiding for a long time and had not made a journey like this in what seemed like ages but she'd gotten a hold of herself and told herself it was time to keep moving... because she should always be moving!
"If I don't they'll find me.. " She whispered, though the whisper died down to mumbling as she continued to tell herself things. She glanced over her shoulder for a brief moment and at the same time the other wolf came into view. She did not see him though for obvious reasons.

Butterfinger lay calm on the bank watching the fish dart, he had a few already laid out beside him, one he had eaten the tiny bones lined up with care. His yellow ears flicked to and fro and he perked up curiously as he saw another wolf heading towards him.
Butterfinger quickly moved to his feet startled and certain if she didn't turn around she would crash right into him. He tried to find his voice, but as always he was too nervous or shy to vocalize. Still he had no intention of getting plowed into. "He..Hello!" He finally mange to exclaim, hoping it would stop the others rapid movement.

As the voice invaded her ears and pushed away her own words her head jerked around and she let out a surprised snarl as she was almost moving right into an orange colored male. She stumbled back, crouched slightly low with wide eyes. The snarl had been replaced by a sheepish look that clearly stated 'forgive me'. Her tail curled lightly under her body as she stared toward his chest area, only having looked in his eyes when she'd first almost bumped into him.
"Terribly sorry, you surprised me." She breathed out, feeling nervous.

Butterfinger almost leapt back at the snarl, as it was he had moved back a bit his tail dipping into the cool stream. He cleared his throat and tried to force words out. He was a bit surprised by the female she looked so sorry he wanted to assure her no harm was done. He tried once more to summon up the ability to speak.
"It's okay...I just thought you, umm...I mean..." He took another deep breath. "I just wasn't sure if you had seen me...and I didn't want you to go tripping over yourself or bumping into me." He nodded and hoped he didn't look as silly as he felt.
He glanced back and pulled his tail from the water sitting down calmer now. "Would like some fish?" Fish made everything better in Butterfingers opinion. It kept coats glossy, made you healthy, he never noticed the odor of it.

Fayina Tao calmed herself down just a little and nodded her head whenever he started to speak, as if letting him knew she understood. Fish? Her stomach grumbled a little and she nodded, looking around for the fish. "Yes, fish are good and I need food." She was pretty blunt about that though not ungrateful.
She took a few steps after him and then halted. "Are you part of a pack?" She asked, her voice becoming a little suspicious and she started to mutter some things to herself.

Butterfinger felt relieved at her response, anyone who ate fish he could certainly talk to. He turned and nudged the little pile of fresh caught fish towards her. "There you go..."
He sat quietly before tilting his head at her question and mutterings. "Yes I am, my brother and I recently joined our family in their pack." He smiled softly. "It's nice to be around our family." His ears perked a bit though for he was still most curious about the muttering.

She edged toward the food but instantly felt on her guard because he was part of a pack! She was too captured by her own hunger to turn and flee though as as she got to the fish she turned so he could not watch her eat and hunched over them, ripping at the meaty flesh and not being very careful of the bones. She'd never truly eaten a fish before, but she didn't care as long as she could eat it.
"I don't have a family." She said suddenly, sounding afraid. She jerked her head to look at him. "None, no family." She'd only been half listening and had thought he'd said something about her family and now she seemed terrified. Was he working with them?

Butterfinger watched her devour the fish before her and tilted his head, she was liable to choke on a bone if she kept at it that way. "Careful..." He muttered uncertainly. "You could choke on one of those bones you know? Their small..." He tried to explain, but found himself at a bit of a loss.
Instead he jumped a bit startled as she jerked her head. "Oh...thats too bad...everyone should have someone who cares about them..." He felt rather sorry for this skittish female. At the rate she was going and alone at that, she would find herself in trouble for sure.
