Harthis'nasai- Common Origins, Different Races

Introduction

For those of you who don't know, Ave'kersha is a language I'm creating for a series of fantasy novels I'm writing. In this series, there are two races, the Siphon and the Wraiths.

Originally, they were one race, until a powerful Ornic (a demon from hell), came to world Harthis'Nasai with a powerful poison. This Ornic came to be known as the Harbinger, the creator of the Wraiths. By infecting many Siphon with this poison, it morphed their originally pure souls into a more corrupt form. While not evil, their hihn was changed to something darker than Siphon hihn, and the Siphon came to fear their counterparts.

No one knows what happened to the Harbinger, but the effects of its attacks were definite and frightening. Harthis'nasai was no longer a united world.

The Wraiths and Siphon, with growing animosity towards one another, went to war. When the Ancient War came to a close, a truce between to warring races was made. A magic-leaden wall was built between the North, Nai'ahno, and the south, Sei'ahno. And from that time, 1800 years ago, the Wraiths and Siphons have lived respectively in their own regions of the continent.

The Siphon

The Siphon live in the south, Sei'ahno, which is translated as 'The land of Light'. It is called this because of it's long 18 hour day and 6 hour night.

The Siphon have a limited democracy. They're governing body is known as The Guild of the Omni-Lords. There are three classifications Siphons: Nova-Lords, Demi-Lords, and Omni-Lords. Nova-Lords are those who have yet to summon their vares, or spiritual weapons. Demi-Lords are those ranging anywhere from just after Nova-Lords to those nearing Omni-Lord status, and is the most common class. Omni-Lords are the most powerful and have completed Ascension.

The capital of the Sei'ahno is Ave'ahla, Lit. the City of Old. It is a large metropolis surrounded by a wall with three gates. The only wall without a gate is the North Wall, which points towards Nai'ahno.

Siphon are a militaristic people. Ornics regularly break through to Harthis'nasai, therefore a organization called the District Military was devised. It splits all of Sei'ahno into Districts, and 8 military Siphon patrol each District, with a District leader, usually a high powered Demi-Lord or an Omni-Lord, a District Apprentice, one who is trained from childhood by the District Leader, and seven others that are either taking periodic classes at the Universal Siphon Academy in Ave'ahla or have gone there for the full schooling term of 14 years and graduated to join the District Military.

The Guild of the Omni-Lords is composed of 12 Omni-Lords who operate under a certain seat.

2.) Seat of Advancement for the Technological Arts
3.) Seat of Siphon Defense
4.) Seat of Investigation and Interrogation
5.) Seat of Army Command
6.) Seat of Naval Command
7.) Seat of Internal Police Command
8.) Seat of Border Regulation
9.) Seat of the Tithanistian Throne
10.) Seat of the Commerce of the State
11.) Seat of the Historical Regime
12.) Seat of the Arts of the People

Siphon who are not militaristic are simply civilians. They may or may not have vares and most do merchanting jobs or home-run businesses. Most government jobs are run by the parties of the Current Omni-Lords, who are elected every 15 years. The elections of course, are unfair, as only Siphon who live in the capital can vote for the Omni-Lords, and since most are the party members of the current Omni-Lords, the winners are usually guaranteed.

The general consensus of Siphon is that Wraiths are feral unsophisticated beasts. The irony is that Wraiths are generally kinder and more accepting than most Siphon.
