The Setting: The plains are vast; edged with woodland, with streams and rivers threading through the luch fields like silver ribbons. They all lead down to a large lake; clear in the sunlight, the bottom is clearly visible, and at varying depths. Kaali ran up the stream; his hooves sending splashes up with every stride. His sandy-coloured legs were darkened by the water; and his heaving flanks were dotted the same. He flicked his tail and a spray danced up, creating a rainbow which went un-noticed by him. He simply enjoyed sending the water flying up; the wind in his mane and tail, the sensation of running, of prancing. He felt so... Alive! Unknown to him, he was nearing the lake; so filled with what was happening now that he was ignoring everything else.

Koochie stood beneath a growling sapling which was situated a few metres from the silvery streams and closed her eyes with a gentle sigh. The calming sound of gurgling water as it splashed over smooth pebbles bounced off the small clumps of trees and drifted into the teen's ears, creating a soothing melody that would without a doubt send the pegasus into a deep sleep if it weren't for the distant sound of water being disturbed. Half-opening an eye, Koochie glanced in the direction of the intruder and snorted in disbelief, her eyes fell upon another pegasus prancing about, causing thousands of ripples to dance on the water's surface. "I thought I was going to get some peace and quiet here, guess I was wrong." She whispered to herself and watched the droplets of aqua make prisms of different colours. The water looked so inviting and refreshing she soon found herself debating whether she should go and join the male or not.

Kaali danced on; throwing his mane from side to side, the feel of the wind and the sun and the water over his hooves wrapping him in life. His eyes opened wider as he looked ahead- a huge, shining pool, reflecting the light and nearly blinding him. He reared up; letting out a whinney of excitement, his wings stretching out before he dropped back to all fours and sprinted the short way left to the shallows of the lake. So much water! He reared and bucked; his dark hooved kicking up a spray as he danced around, going knee-deep in water from time to time. His eyes briefly picked up something- or someone- white and pink; but his conscious mind ignored it in favour of the nature surrounding him.

With her head cocked to one side, Koochie furrowed her brow with a frown and flicked her tail sharply to the side to swat away a falling leaf. The cream male amused her with his frolicking; it was good to see an older pegasus enjoying life, especially with other teens setting the stereotype that no-one older than a foal could mess about in an entertaining way. She trotted fowards at a steady pace until she was close enough to feel the spray in the air sprinkle onto her pure white coat, creating the look of spring morning dew. The water didn't look too deep from where she was standing and the other pegasus wasn't in any distress so it was safe to assume she wasn't going to drown the minute she entered the lake. Dipping a dark pink hoof beneath the water's surface; sending an icy cold chill up her leg, she slowly dropped herself in, one leg at a time. Koochie couldn't make out whether he had seen her yet or not by his expression, but she wasn't going to let that spoil her fun. She reared up onto her hind legs and splashed using her front, at the same time letting out a neigh of pleasure.

It was the neigh that really got his attention. Up until that point, he had been entirely- well, not entirely oblivious, but enough to not need to pay attention to the pegasus. He stopped dead; his stormy blue-grey eyes widening. Now what was he supposed to do? "...Uh... Hello?" he ventured; thinking hard to what he had overheard and what little he remembered from his parents. His speech was stilted and forced, as if little used; and whilst his body language was open and friendly, that was only because it reflected his personality, and he'd have no idea how to act contrary to his mood. How on Gaia was he supposed to act towards her...?

Her dark orchid eyes flickered with acknowledgement of his greeting before widening ever so slightly and a placid smile crept onto her face. Giving a courtious bow of her head; her mane tumbled fowards so it covered her eyes like a pair of hotpink curtains, until she tossed her head back again and cleared her throat with a barely audiable cough. There was a split-second pause as she thought of what to say before she replying warmly with, "Hello.....nice day out isn't it?" Koochie had never been applaudable with her greetings or social skills, so she mentally kicked herself for not conjuring up anything more intelligent or social like. Her eyes darted over his body, taking in every detail down to the smallest speck of dirt, she liked to know what she was up aaginst before rushing into things. He seemed like the type who rarely spoke to others but the atmosphere between them was calm and refreshing, reassuring Koochie that he wasn't going to turn around and kick her when she wasn't concentrating.

Kaali smiled slightly; his eyes half-closing in embaressment. "Um... Yes? Yes, it is." He nodded slightly; feeling incredibly self-conscious. He spent so much time alone that when pushed into a social situation like this, he didn't know what to say or how to act. He swallowed; deciding just to act like he did normally, but to include the other pegasus in his play. "I was... Well." He shrugged and reared up, kicking his hooves up to create a huge splash headed towards her. His smile returned, as did the spark in his eye; completely unaware of the potential of a huge social faux par in his actions.

The splash's spray rained down on her, drenching her mane and the upper-half of her body that hadn't been exposed to the water before hand. Her mouth hung open in astonishment and she merely gawped at him, at the same time her eyes narrowed accompinied by a playful pout which was followed by her diving fowards in a belly flop motion to create a mini wave. "Payback time!" She cheered as she re-surfaced and shook herself all over, adding more water to her counter attack. A flame of micheif burned brightly in her eyes as she strutted towards the edge of the lake, she had a plan that would definately not be forgotten by herself in a hurry.

Kaali laughed and tried to dodge the huge wave created by the female's belly-flop. He only half-succeeded, his head and neck avoiding the worst of it; but the entirety of his body becoming entirely drenched. Her shaking herself off helped finish the job; and his fur hung, soaked and dripping, as he stood, laughing. She turned and started walking away from him, and Kaali continued laughing, chasing her. He kicked his hooves as he ran; creating mini splashes with each step. It was lucky he was already soaked, otherwise he'd be doing her job for her!

At the sound of a barrage of splashes behind her, Koochie momentarily glanced over her shoulder to see how far behind he was. Realising that he was only a few strides away, she broke into a canter but the water resistantance slowed down her movements so it was more of a mixture of trot and canter rather than the full blown speed she could achieve on land. As she neared the edge the pool, she leapt into the air and hoisted herself out of the water, her tail sticking to her hind legs with wetness and had separated into a few thick strands. "Okay, time for operation bomb." Koochie chuckled to herself, galloped wildly straight ahead to gain distance between herself and the traget, before turning sharply on her hooves and charged at him. When she reached the rim of the lake, she sprung fowards, tucked herself as best as she could into a ball shape and let gravity take its hold on her.

Kaali stayed in the shallows as the female left the lake. He felt a pang of sadness; was she leaving? And why did that thought bother him? But, no... She was turning around! He whinneyed, happy; and moved sideways as she ran towards him. He watched, curious, as she leaped- and tucked herself into a ball. His eyes widened and he chased after her. He didn't know if the water was deep enough to avoid her hurting herself; and he was concerned for her. Not thinking of the potential splash, he tried to move towards where she would land; but the water hampered his efforts, and he slowed down to a painfully slow speed.

The impact of hitting the water sent a electric jolt of pain shooting along her spine and into her brain, alerting herself that maybe a bomb dive wasn't the best plan she'd ever had. Altough she had probably caused herself some damage to her back or legs, the outcome was tremendous. A powerful ripple formed around her body and instantly spread outwards as soon as it was properly finished, followed by a dozen smaller ones that still would lap up against his body. Koochie uncurled from her tight ball and shakily found her feet, there was no damage to the naked eye but she could detect a small tinge of pain radiating from the front left leg. "I think I've twisted my leg....or chipped my hoof." She laughed with tears brimming in the corners of her dark eyes. It was that kind of moment where you didn't know whether to cry in pain or laugh at how you had hurt yourself, Koochie was doing both.

Kaali had been so close to her when she had hit the water that he was completely submerged for a moment. Still, once the water receded, he was more concerned about her than anything else. Seeing her get up, he allowed himself to smile a tight smile; slightly amused, concern was still his overriding emotion. He stepped towards her and bent to examine her leg. "Are you okay?" He didn't know what he was looking for; but he looked anyway, as close to her leg as the water would allow.

Koochie gave a half-hearted smile and winced as the water pressure was starting irritate where the pain was coming from. There was only a small bruised lump to show that she was hurt but it didn't look like anything life threatening and she was still inwardly laughing after all. "I'm fine, nothing a little playing won't cure. I was a clumsy foal so I've learnt to cope with a few bruises here and there." Her remaining unharmed fore arm stretched itself out and gently rubbed against the bruise to ease the throbbing sensation. "I just realised something, we haven't introduced ourselves, I'm Koochie." She gave another bob of head with a few bats of her eye lashes and unfolded her hotpink wings, revealing 3 different shades of pink flowers just above her thigh.

"...Oh!" Kaali smiled, embarressed again; taking in the small flowers. Her batting her lashes didn't go unmissed by him either. "I, uh. I am, I'm Kaali. It's short for something, but, uh, I don't remember what..." He looked away, feeling stupid and socially inept.
