Even though your work is heavily stylized, you can still use reference.
Take a pic of yourself with your arms and body posed like the image so you can get it right. You are skilled enough to translate it into your style.... lemme print it out and see if I can draw on it to help you out.

Oi, a good usefull reference outweighs ANNY bad juju.....well to me anyways

anywhooooo....

Aside from random structural and proportion problems (the first one in regards to the connection of the head to the neck, inner left arm being a bit too long)....your linework really could use some tender lovins....in terms of tightening it up and stablizing it.

When you're laying down your lines right now particularly on your figs, you're giving the impression that you're uncertain to where and how things should go and look, leaving things sloppy and hazy. The remedy would be to more concise with your strokes....being absolutely certain to how you want that particular line to flow instead of randomly tossin things around in the general area. Sure this doesn't have to apply all the time (in regards to quick drills, thoughts and gesturals)...its something you should push for when you're crankin out finished pieces...less mess to clean up...

this is what i like to see :}

what nova posted however isnt like anything useful or constructive
(can a mod delete it from my thread?)

also my sketches are very very messy mostly because
i dont really see a point in making them all pretty when im just going to ink over them later and then color them in a chaotic style..

i imagine its hard to give crits to someone stubborn like me
( i have been in my habits for a loong time now )

i really dont know if i could relearn the whole correct drawing process
and stray from what ive already learned on my own terms

or im just scared ill suck idk :{

i guess if i wanted to show black and white and sketch art for serious
(instead of finished colored pieces)

i would care more about being exact and clean :}

the anatomy pointers ******** i didnt even think about how her neck and s**t contributes to how wonky it looks i feel so silly lmao

i will definitely go and try to fix that xD

*learn to draw hands
Possibly by photograpghing your hand and drawing it in a range of media before attempting to stylise it in your own art.
Then attmempt as many peaices with hands in irregular posistions.

I'd advice starting in sketch and moving onto more challenging media.

Ha ha. My teachers would smack us for NOT using reference for anatomy.
I'm at work right now, but I'm heading home. I'm going to try and draw the hands on your first one, but I'm not sure what she is doing... I think they are going through her hair, right? If not, tell me so I don't just draw random hands that won't help you emo

I agree, you need to get out of the habit of not using references. References are gods to artists, they should be anyway. I at least view that. I have tons and TONS of refs I've collected over the years and I'm still searching for more. And as for your hand problem. Try looking at your hands or pictures of hands (like in modeling magazines or something) And sketch them down. Growing up I would sketch and doodle down different parts of the body, head/hand/feet/back etc. It's good to get help with that.

This may help some with those hands. As for other refs look in the refs thread dude.

Draw out your hands in blocks esp. the fingers first, and then go over it with a more definitive line later
Also I've noticed that most of the time you have all fingers almost equally visible and it kinda screws up hand perspective, I agree with using your hand for ref
I wish I could but I have like big man hands lmao so I kinda have to adapt anyways

Sorry for ressing an old post.

" have such moral artistic issues with references i dont use them at all really "

Then I don't suppose you'll get better. Right now you're stuck in this disgustingly warped style. Hands are chunky fries, faces are generic big eye anime with huge scars on the face for blush. Your lineart is horrendous, the pictures have no composition at all, etc etc.

You *NEED* to start referencing. From looking through your DA gallery, you'll very soon become just another snapesnogger; drawing the same things over and over again with a moderate fanbase, but never going anywhere artwise (good if you're doing it as a hobby, but if you're looking for critique...oh boy).

Personally, I'd suggest to stop drawing the way you do and start studying. Incorporate elements of design, practice lineart, research into interesting illustrators and the techniques they use. And lastly of all:
