I think I got screwed over. I bought a pitchfork the other day for 450k, I thought it was a steal because after the 450k the next LMP was 480k. So I was all excited.
I now know that the pitchfork may have been AI'd because they're now selling for 400k! And now I'm stuck waiting until it raises up to at least 450k.
Anyone else get screwed like this?
Edit: I'm gunna quote what Lupas said a little bit down this page so this dosn't happen to anyone. Lupas Deva Did you check the graphs? I find them really usefull to check trends. Also the higher priced items have a larger range of price. I've been making at Least 30-100k (30-35k goes to tax) profit from buying and selling my demon horns. What I wanna point out is the Graph part. Learn from my mistake, always check the graph, if you check the graph and it has a lot of high peaks and a lot of low peaks, its probably not a good item to buy or hoard. The graphs you wanna look for are the ones that steadly increase.
Checking graphs will prevent AI from taking advantage of you. And as Lupas said in a other thread, WE DO NOT SUPPORT AI, if anything its way to risky, and its not fair exchanging.

I would be too scared to sell my demon horns, I always expect items like that to go up a million right after I sell them. If you have the cash to withstand it, the Pitchfork is still steadily increasing, it is a really cool item.

... Yes, I feel your pain, things like that happens to me a lot; but I learned to cope with it and give it time. I bought my BTK knowing it was a steal, but it would sell and the price is going lower and lower; same thing with my bammi, but I already sold it. I am now patiently waiting for inflation to carry my pair of zodiac away.
Yea, Lupas is right, the bigger items [usually] have a bigger gap, the bigger the gap, the bigger the profit, the more it interests buyers.
Good luck my friend!

But I recently joined THG and they strongly said to use graphs when hoarding items, and ever since I've been useing graphs, and I probably still could have made back my money + more but I was lazy and wanted to get December 07's before they inflated.
Its 30k tax on horns? O.o Why don't you just use the exchange?

That makes sence since the majority of Gaia's population can't afford horns. But stil 30k? *low whistle* I supose it really isn't that much compared to the profit you make.
Do you hoard items as well?

Things like this are surprisingly common. While I know this guild doesn't support AI, my own private guild does, and we had an interesting experience with inflation.. however, someone actually IN the guild (and who saw the inflation efforts) decided to buy the item after inflation and ultimately lost over 200k from the purchase.
Always look at the chart, as well as averages. However, understand that rich enough people will actually FORCE average prices up when they're doing artificial inflation by purchasing through mules their overpriced items. Sure, they loose 2% to tax, but they also get to watch the alleged 'average' price of these items force their way steadily up.
I always double and triple check purchases of that size, because one small mistake could cost you 50k or more.
