The mare had been idle and alone, and as the winter season surrounded her, she felt comfort in knowing how isolated and cold everything else was. Everything looked dead, and the silence was absolutely intriguing. The only noise that could be heard was the crunching of her hooves, and she knew that was enough to scare many a creature away from her tremendous scent. The snow was also something she found enjoyable, since blood could drape over it in wide arrange of contrast. It seemed that lately the snow was melting a bit, and Malice questioned how much longer the winter would last for the land. Spring was a season that she absolutely hated, since Soquili would frolic and have children as if it was a game. There was talk about love and family, and it made the mare vicious and violent. Just thinking about it made Malice snort in disgust, and as she trudged through the muggy ground, she tried to close her eyes and focus on the cold around her.

Malice didn't want the winter to end, she absolutely loved how spooky the atmosphere was. She enjoyed knowing that many would not wander alone at night, and when a creature was stupid enough to do so, she was always able to dive in and enjoy a stupid yet delicious meal. That sort of entertainment happened quite often, and it made the mare laugh every time. The solitude was also something that many hated about the wintertime, but the mare found the relaxation she needed to keep her mind stable and controlled.

For Toku things were a little different, while the white snow did indeed make the kill all the more enjoyable, the site of the warm red mixing with the cold white did indeed send a shiver of delight down his spine he absolutely hated being cold. The bitter winds, the annoyance of needing to find shelter from yet another random storm. It irritated him, especially since he no longer dwelled in just one spot. He traveled now, wondering if he might stumble on the old heard again. He hardly recalled were he last saw them, only the place he saw Malice, his old clearing he claimed his own.

None the lesst the male Kalona moved onward cursing the hidden branches below the snow, more then once kicking a passing tree with his hind hooves gashing marks into the tree when it's roots dared to try and impair his progress through the snow. He debated taking flight, yet he was still too cold to bother, the idea of soaring through cold winds hardly pleased him at all.

That same cold wind however brought a familiar scent one that caught his attention and caused him to veer off to his right following the scent towards the strange child simply known as Malice. He wouldn't bother to conceal his steps, he knew the mare, and she knew him, and somewhere in that their had to be a mutual understanding not to harm the other less they wished to spill their own and each others blood then that of a warm meal.

After a set of blinks, Malice also scented the stallion, in which she could only provide a chuckle for a response. Toku, was it? It had been some time since she had spoken with that stallion, and as she swayed her tail lazily, she wondered what the two of them would do in this second meeting of theirs. At least a Kalona she knew was around her, and it wasn't one of the random and idiotic ones that existed in the land.

From his scent, it seemed as if he was going to approach her, and she also walked forward, wondering if she would run into him as well. Would Toku attack this time? Malice knew that they were civil to each other, but they were both Kalonas, and that meant that attack was always a possibility. But at the same time, Malice enjoyed something about the stallion, whether it was his grumpiness or stubbornness, she found a hint in enjoyment through the brief but small talks they had. Toku was not a stallion of words, but that made him more mysterious in a sense.

When the brown stallion came into view, Malice only curved her lips, before saying, "Long time no see, Toku."

Toku continued his approach, now and then a stomp and a mutter could be heard as he made his way closer getting irritated again with the snow and the road it hid beneath him, he was bigger then Malice, and so each step he sank a little deeper then the younger Kalona and as such offten found his hooves sank just a bit to deep for his approval.

Civil wasn't quite the word in Toku's mind, more like they just bickered and agreed to bicker and disagree till one of them eventually gave up consenting to the others ideas. Granted at least she was worth arguing with rather then some butterfly chasing t**t. "Like wise to you Malice..." he said with a slight grumble as he shifted about in the snow and slush. For a moment he almost wondered if he was closer to the heard now that he had found Malice again and so far from his own clearing, but he let that thought pass, Malice didn't seem too fond of the whole heard idea any way if she had ventured to his clearing alone as she had.

Toku was just as Malice remembered, and she noticed he had no new scars or pains on his body, and he was as stable as she was. That was always something Malice looked for in fellow Kalonas to see how 'busy' they had been. "How has the winter season been treating you? Has yours been as uneventful as mine?" Malice chuckled quietly, while rolling her eyes over to the male. "Its always a quiet season, but I take what I can get."

Malice felt more comfortable this time in front of the stallion, and she flicked at her bangs while pondering what else to ask him. She knew he was always quiet, even when she asked him complex questions. That made the question/answer things more hilarious in her tastes. "Any new news in your life? Run into anything interesting?" It was sort of awkward being so casual, but Malice was only doing what she had been taught. To ask something too inappropriate would lead to a more heated or terrible discussion.

No scars held double meaning, either he had no problems, or any problems were swiftly dealt with, sadly it was not the latter of those two for him. "Cold, always cold." He stomped a hove kicking at the offending snow with irritation, "I travel, I seek shelter from annoying winds and storms, I wake up stiff and numb."

Casually he walked over to stand beside Malice looking over at her from her side, neither had done anything to offend the other and so for now being close meant body heat, and if things got nasty, well, he was the bigger one right? But hopefully for the sake of not having her whole family on him it wouldn't come to that. "Nothing, I've been looking for the heard again and seen no sign."

Malice was a bit surprised to see Toku move closer to her, and she quirked a brow before feeling the heat from the stallion's body. Its not like she could complain in the overall scenario, since the stallion was hefty in body heat and warmth. But still, she had never had a stallion so close to her, and that was something that felt a bit exhilarating. "Well, its good to see you aren't frozen at least, so you must be doing a good job at avoiding the cold."

As Toku spoke of 'the herd', Malice lowered her head, while also contemplating her own thoughts. "Hmm.. what herd do you speak of?" If she could remember correctly, Toku knew her parents.. right? "I know that my parents used to be involved in a herd, but their activity is a mystery to me. I spend my days alone and in wonderment. My parents have built an army of eight children, so many that's why they don't participate in any herd anymore." With a shrug, the mare wondered why such a thing vanished from existence, or at least why it was spoken about anymore.

The slight warmth was nice, that at least made up for the misery of snow for a breif while so long as they stayed near for a bit. "Caves, fallen trees, anything that blocks that damned frozen wind." It was a simple truth, he could not near the camps of the two legged creatures and so the warmth of their fires were alien to him.

"The one your mother and father started that I abandoned obviously." He glanced at Malice wondering if the girl was short of memory, what other heard would it be? Was there even other Kalona herds out their? "Why have a heard, they have a clan of kin to use. Though this one." He then tipped his head towards Malice, "Is as much an abandoner as I am."

Malice snorted while ignoring the humor in the stallion's words. Or maybe he wasn't even TRYING to be funny, but either way, that WASN'T what she was about. "I don't abandon, I just don't follow. Maybe I want my OWN clan, my own spawn. But I most certainly don't abandon." She shot the stallion a usual glare, before smacking her tail at the ground angerly. Malice found her parents to be the most important individuals in her life, and she knew that Toku could never understand that aspect about her. He was a loner, plain and simple.

"You never told me why you abandoned them, or this herd you speak of. Have you even seen my parents since then?" If Malice guessed correctly, they probably weren't too fond of the stallion for leaving. "You should man up and talk to them, since a lot has happened since that herd was created." Her parents moved on and created their own powerful group, with children that had the amazing gene pool that they created. "Well whatever, I think what my parents did was smart." Hell, it was genius! What better way to dominate then with kids!

No humor was held in his voice, he spoke plain and simple to Malice, he felt little need to do any more, adding wit and sarcasm was something he still had yet to start doing since he finally decided on speaking to others again starting with the fiery mare. "Follow, abandon, your a loner like me as you have labeled me."

He scowled at her breifly, he swore they went over this last time, "I left because we did not agree, that's all there is to it. I've seen nothing of them except you." He snorted in irritation, "Why do you think I seek the heard then Malice?" Obviously he was going to speak with them, or end up dead trying to fend them off himself. "You say that now, do you really want to rear that many young your self?"

"Well not everyone travels as much as we do." she then added, while lowering her eyes towards the ground. "Or maybe you keep missing the opportunity to find them?" Malice really had no idea where her family wandered, whether they were together or alone. "Either way, I know that quite a few in my family are on their own agenda, so even I don't see them frequently. It is a random occurrence when I finally see some of them." It was a random and special one at that.

Malice then strode away from the stallion, and she instantly felt a chilly wind hit her side. "You act as though you KNOW everything, when really you have no clue. You don't know anything about me, or anything about what I want." Malice wanted to have children on her side, since that was how she learned. She was bred as a perfect Kalona, and she wanted to make her parents proud and she wanted to do the same. "I would teach my children how important they are as Kalona, and I would be honored knowing that my spawn demolished the many pathetic in this land." It was just as Malice was created.. and it was truly a wonderful success. Malice knew her bloodline was exquisite and pristine, and she had complete faith in herself.

Toku shrugged, travel or opprotunity it didn't matter, he simply had yet to find them and would at some point or another, after all Malice was part of the said family, so if he could find her twice why not the others? "So your family, raised as one, is more individuals like your self then?"

As she stormed away the larger Kalona would also be blasted by a cold breeze and a reminder how temperamental their 'friendship' or 'relationship' or some other word for 'tolerating each others bullshit' was. Casually he walked back over taking a place to keep them both warmer, for himself or her he never mentioned. "I've spoken to you twice, you act as if I should know your very thoughts Malice." He snorted at the notion of them becoming instantly attuned to the other like that. "Teach them as you wish, you have no stallion to give them." A blunt fact, one he could solve, but really, why bother right now? If anything they would probably just wander away from Malice as she had from her parents on in the case of Toku's wander away from him and leave it to fate to let him live. Regardless, children were a burden he had little intention to deal with at the time, or any time for that matter.

Malice WAS thankful that Toku moved himself over to her again, and she hid a smug expression and stared off in the opposite direction from his eyes. "Well forgive me then." For some reason, the subject that they were talking about was stressful for her, since she didn't understand it too well. Such a fact was obvious, since the mare was continuously flustered as Toku kept talking.

"I don't go out of my way to look for said stallion, because I don't even know if this is the right path for me. Call me pathetic, but I am a careful planner, and I would never do something rash or idiotic." Malice then shrugged slightly, while bringing her slanted eyes back on Toku. "Plus, I am not completely confident on how motherhood works. Just because my mother was wonderful in what she taught us, who is to say I will be any better myself? If anything, I would probably be completely different.." Since Maeryn was probably more patient then she was, and Maeryn was utterly proud at the same time. "I don't expect you to understand, Toku. So there is no reason to keep talking about it, especially if you find it revolting." Since, by the tone of his voice, she assumed Toku to be disgusted at this point.

Toku watched as Malice looked away, she seemed to be hiding something, or maybe she was just sick of him. Either way she was still irritated it seemed.

"The more you speak the more you sound like me. You have no path, I have none, I hold no value to this world, you may be valuable only to your parents yet they surely are not around to care what you do."

He laughed at the revolting statement, "I find them not revolting but annoying, I was abandoned as one, does that suggest me weak? I find the young revolting because it's disgusting seeing the young frolic around their parents like idiotic fools care free while I had to struggle to find a damn meal. I hate youth, it is weak, it is pathetic."

He paused for a moment before smirking at her, "And if you fail to raise your young I'll be more then glad to beat some sense into them if you fail to do so."

She didn't want to admit that Toku was right, so instead Malice kept her mouth shut before commenting on other aspects of his speech. Maybe they WERE similar, but she HATED admitting that someone else was right. That wasn't in her nature at all, so usually, she just shut herself up.

"Pfft, youth is natural." she then said, with a raised brow. "How else do you suppose Kalonas will continue to strive in this land? If we don't keep reproducing, then those ******** out there will continue to out number us." But obviously, Toku's hate seemed a bit more personal, since he had a much different way of growing up then she had. "And fail? I can't believe you would ever excuse me of such a thing. I never once assumed that you were weak or anything! You are just putting words out there without even taking in the situation."

Once again she was feeling defensive, and she shuddered while shaking her head at the stallion. "What else do you expect us to do when we are young? Never grow up?" MAN, Toku was weird!
