A message Of Love January 8th 2008

Title: Agape Love.. By The Ozzman

Today I would like to touch on a subject that not everyone has an easy time doing..LOVE
Jesus said John 15:17
This is my command: Love each other
Love is one of the fruits of the Spirit

I was praying today and the lord led me to this Chapter it stood out so boldly so I will just share it with you all I havent been loving God like he wats (you know praying worshiping praising just him and I no one else..
Anyway back to what God showed me the chapter starts at !st Corinthians Chapter 13 verses 1-8

) Love (
Agapē---- (Gk. αγάπη [aˈɣa.pi]), is one of several Greek words translated into English as love. The word has been used in different ways by a variety of contemporary and ancient sources, including Biblical authors. Many have thought that this word represents divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing, active, volitional, and thoughtful love
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Love----- is an intense feeling of affection related to a sense of strong loyalty or profoundLove is an intense feeling of affection related to a sense of strong loyalty or profound oneness.
1 Corinthians 13
Love
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

What this says is no matter what gift or knowledge that you have no matter how perfect you (think ) you are ,You are a nothing without Gods LOVE.

In this next set of verses God demonstrates exactly the kind of love he wants from Christians and here are Gods standards of love..

Love is garaunteed never to Die…..

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

So you see its verry important to love and to learn exactly what that love requires and all its charachteristics …………..

If you can love you can do all things and those things will matter to God when you do them …but…without the added ingredient of love all will be lost ……….Meditate on that it will help youre walk to Godliness a whole lot!

Amen

P.s plz add your comments from those who got anything out of this

Love is something very important to understand about when in Christ. It is how God is summed up and how our actions in Christ are summed up. If we do not understand God's love, then we do not understand what Christians are supposed to be.

Gambling

The Question is ..(IS Gambling Wrong???)

The answer is Yes

The definition of Gambling is
1. to play at any game of chance for money or other stakes.

2. to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance: to gamble on a toss of the dice.

–verb (used with object)
3. to lose or squander by betting (usually fol. by away): He gambled all his hard-earned money away in one night.

4. to wager or risk (money or something else of value): to gamble one's freedom.

5. to take a chance on; venture; risk: I'm gambling that our new store will be a success.

–noun
6. any matter or thing involving risk or hazardous uncertainty.

7. a venture in a game of chance for stakes, esp. for high stakes.

When gambling we are waging money in hopes to make a lot of money or (get rich)
Often people go to Casinos because it is legal to gamble.
If you notice the Casino is decked out in bright dancing lights and a care-free winning atmosphere has been created for you..
As you get through the big doors inside you have already been convinced you are going to win and be rich.
The truth is its all a Lie. Yes people do win but it is rarely after they’ve lost more than they won. Did they tell you about the divources and lost relationships did they say anything about addiction and heartache caused by the loss of money.
Then to realy throw you off course alcohol is thrown into the mix. Now you have become the most generous man or woman on the planet.

Luke 1:15 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
People say John drank fermented wine..The bible says no he didn’t

Luke 1:15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth.[a]
Proverbs 23:20
Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat,

Now that you’ve had some drink you aer falsly happy and don’t realise you lost all your bill money.
Now you are in deep over you’re head because you needed this money.
Then you realise that you lost everything and you have broke a lot of GODS laws.

Bible mentions Mammon…Who is mammon ……hmmm lets see
The Bible says in Matthew 6:24

mammon noun 1. wealth regarded as an evil influence 2. (New Testament) a personification of wealth and avarice as an evil spirit; "ye cannot serve God and Mammon"

The Love of money
Becomes making it you’re God/Addiction

Exodus 20:23
23 Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.
Bible says we should not take advantage of the needy. That would be those rich guys who own the Casinos
Proverbs 22:22-23
22 Do not exploit the poor because they are poor
and do not crush the needy in court,
23 for the LORD will take up their case
and will plunder those who plunder them.

God doesn’t want us out there trying to get rich quick
Hebrews 13:5
5Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."[a]

The Main focus for us as Christians is Matthew 6:19 Treasures in Heaven
19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

These are some good points, gambling is a waste of our lives when we can be doing better things for God and others. Many become addicted to gambling and addictions more often then not take you away from God, so avoiding gambling would be a good idea.

I'm not so sure where you're going with the alcohol section, the two verses you chose seem to contradict each other one says not to drink the other says not to drink too much. Do you have the context on these?

Well I liked the verse it intertwined with the Casino gambling sermon because they give you all the alchol you want...........The Bible will never contradict itself.. I was amazed because so many people i run into try to argue the fact and say that Jesus drank wine all the time if you read the verse you will see it was in luke the conversation took place before the birth of christ and the prophecy said that he would be born and never drink fermented wine.....I shoulda left it out but I was so excited that I stumbled across it because it is so important to know that alchohol is only used as medicinal.......The wine that Jesus talked about was grape juice
the water was bad because of the earlier plagues and somehow the water was undrinkable so alot of folks drank wine.......Think about this real deep If you was in a dry poluted land and you was so thirsty and there was one chance to drink 1 glass out of three...one is poluted water one is Fermented wine..and the other was a glass of Non alcholic wine (just grape juice) this would be another sermon lol If you want..I will realy have to pray before I do a sermon on alcohol...But I realy dont see anything good about it besides medicinal.......wich one would you want to drink.....

remember dont drink and drive lol

If I remember correctly. In those days, there were not very many ways to get clean water except by boiling it first, and even then it would not keep for long periods of time. I'm pretty sure its the alcohol in the wine that makes the bad water drinkable. Alcohol kills the bad bacteria/germs in the water and so wine was added to the water to make it drinkable. As for the wine that Jesus consumed not being actual wine we would have to look at the root language before it was translated into English to see what was intended by the author. Sorry, this is the first I've heard of this so I have to be at least a little skeptical.
