Basking under shade of one of the trees that littered the oasis by the watering hole was Majivu. His head was settled on his green tipped paws his eyes shut trying to block out the sun that was so bright in his yellow eyes. His tail flicked back and forth restlessly as the young cub tried to get some rest. From what he had heard they were leaving soon. Thank heavens. he thought to himself rather happily.

The gray, ashen looking male hated the oasis. He hated the loose grainy sand beneath his paws. It was always so hot and got stuck between his toes, a feeling he did not like. Not one bit. Majivu always had the hardest time getting it out of his fur every night before he went to sleep in the sand free room where they had been born. It was much cooler in there too and he liked that.

This cub could proudly say that he did not like the desert, it's sand and it's heat. No, if it wasn't for the fact he was trying to sleep he would probably say something about it. Shifting his ear twitched. "Yes yes Mti I know. I know, you don't need to tell me over and over again." he mumbled shaking his head as he let out a yawn opening his eyes and pushing himself up before glancing at the tree who's shade he had been resting under. "No, I will not ask mother to give you a try. Why? Because you're a tree!" he exclaimed shaking his head in disappointment. "No! I didn't say that! There's nothing wrong with trees Mti, you know I didn't say otherwise, however you'll be here and she won't. It just won't work."

Ah yes, young Majivu was indeed talking to a tree.

Unfortunately, for the pure white pelted brother of the lot, the trees were not as remarkably talkative on this uncomfortable day. Infact, there wasn't much at all to do today, or well, there hadn't been much to do at all for a while now, the weather had kept them all lethargic and to themselves - he and his three sibings were prisoners of this blasted oasis. He wanted to see more.

With his ideas of freedom, he isntead found himself just glowering out into the hot desert as the very rare and few between birds whirled and spun in the sky - the immense heat of that day almost bending vision itself off the sands, making their airborne forms bend and contort infront of his eyes, like dancing creatures, or worse, monsters waiting for him to leave the little oasis. How they taunted him so with their carefree dances.

It was only when his brother started voicing his complains to something that he was unable to see, did Sharabu turn his head regard the other with his dark eyes, equally darker eyebrows raising to the sky that taunted him so. This wasn't the first time he had seen his brother talk to air, so with a lazed turn of his head, upper body trailing slightly so, he attempted to join into the conversation - fashionably late, as always. "Are the trees quirrelling with you again, dear brother?" Somedays he wondered what was going through the mind of his sibling.

The ashen colored cub didn't take notice of his other brother until he was speaking. Having been so wrapped up in a conversation with Mti he jumped at the other's voice and nearly barreled right into the tree. Letting out a groan he flopped on the sand reaching up a paw to rub his head. "Owwwwww....." he mumbled before wincing at what was yelling to him and silence to others. "Stop yelling at me Mti! It wasn't my fault! Fine!" he shouted groggily getting back to his paws. "I'm not talking to you anymore!" he yelled childishly at the tree before turning his back to it and giving an 'hphm' sound.

Only then did it register to the male that Sharabu was there. "Brother!" he exclaimed cheerfully grinning broadly at his sibling. "Yes, Mti here is trying to get me to have mother ask him out and I keep telling him it won't work." he should his head and let out a sigh as he did so. "Honestly, he just can't take a hint can he?" he asked with a slight tilt of his head. Then his brow furrowed and he turned back glaring at the tree.

"I heard that y'know!"

Majivu was quite the odd ball but he really did believe that plants could talk to him, a gift from the goddess of the earth which the cub believed blessed him. The flower upon his shoulder was his proof.

With a small jerk of his head, the snow-coloured brother could only watch as he barrelled into the flora that he was only moments ago rambling on consistantly with. At first this was an issue with the family; something that a fair number of times had his mother worriful for the ashen one's sanity. But to Sharabu, it was just another way to relieve the stress of staying in one place so long.

He, himself, did not understand the trees, for - as he was told - he was the child of fire, and would do better in situations with heat. The marking on his shoulder only proved it even further. But it was hot now, and he wasn't hearing the voices of the sand under his paws, or the visions that danced in his face when he tried to search the horizon. Maybe he was broken? Shaking his head, he plastered a smile for his brother, pushing his worries away for now.

"I think, too, that it would not work. The tree - er, Mti - is pretty stationary, and we're probably going to leave this hole soon. Imagine that - adventure." He stated, wistfully at the end, imagining all the things he'll do. "Maybe we should bring mom and have her let him down the easy way." he joshed, chortling at the image.

Rolling his eyes at what only he heard he turned his attention full to his brother. "Nah, we'll just leave him alone. He'll get over it eventually I suppose." Majivu replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "Besides, he'll have to when we leave," he chirped happily thinking about finally being free of this icky sand that plagued the place they were staying any everything that surrounded it as far as the eye could see.

He hated sand, hated it so very much. It wasn't stable like the earth should be. No it was constantly shifting, moving, getting in places sand should not be, and it was just messy.

"I am sooooooooooo ready to leave this place." He stated flopping onto his belly immediately regretting the action. Making a face he popped back onto his paws shaking himself hoping to get rid of the sand he had unwittingly obtained. "I don't like the sand, it is messy and a pain. Are you ready to leave too?" He asked switching thoughts suddenly.

As his brother turned away from the foliage he had just been having an argument with, Sharabu couldn't help but give the tree a glower at for one more instance. He was still unsure if his brother was delusional, or if he could seriously understand what the tree was thinking - and if he could, why would a tree have interest in an animal that doesn't stay in one place like he did.

Trees were confusing.

Hearing his brother question him about if he was ready to depart or not, Sharabu took his interest off the foliage and placed them on the ashen cub, smiling brightly as he answered. "Yes! A hundred times, yes, Majivu. I can't wait to get away from here, maybe to a place where there's a little less sand to worry about, and more water, and colourful foliage." He ranted a bit, frowning as he did, showing his seriousness. "Mom says we'll find a nice new home to enjoy, somewhere we can all live in, I wonder what she thinks of..." he trailed off, at the end, wondering internally.

Majivu grinned broadly at his brother. "I knoooooow!" He chirped happy, his tail wagging slightly. "Can't, can't wait to get out of here!" He exclaimed practically bouncing at the same time. He hated the desert that much.

First there was the heat, then there was the the scarcity of water, and last but definitely most annoying was the sand. It was everywhere, there was hardly a place where there wasn't sand, and whenever the wind blew. Well then it got everywhere. No where was safe!

No amount of grooming would rid him of the sand that was undoubtedly in his fur at the current moment. Gross.

"I dunno, I know she got in a fight the other day," Majivu commented shrugging. "No, I a fight isn't the right word, I think she called it a minor confrontation. Or something like that." He wrinkled his nose. "I think he talked about some kind of highlands after they sorted stuff out."
