I don't know if anyone has a use for this, or how good it may be, but I was poking around the net today and found a page that translates romaji to hiragana and katakana as you type.

Let me know if it works for you...I tested it a little and found that you can type in the romaji and then copy the resulting hiragana or katakana and paste it into a web browser without needing additional software or enabling anything with unicode.
