We all know description is good; it basically sets what each of our styles really is.
I know I like to use a lot of description, that's for sure, but have you ever seen too much description?
I mean, I'm all for imagery and painting that mental dreamscape, but sometimes it's just too much; like you just wanna get on with the story.
Most people won't care what each individual crevice in the bark of a tree looks like!
EXAMPLE, YO;
Not enough (included for perspective); She cried.
A moderate amount; She gazed up at the lone moon, soul in anguish as her tears fell, one by one.
Descriptive!; Her neck craned up, the vertebrae aching as sadness racked her soul. The light shined in her eyes; a dark, tortured light is was. The light seemed to fall, her tears taking what ever last bit of warmth, of light, from her body, shattering it on the floor.
That last example is basically what I consider the thresh hold of "enough".
He we can just discuss at what point does description pass beyond "style' and onto "I didn't need that much. D:"
