Good GAWD, what a day, Lali thought, slumping against the counter at Frederick's as the last set of customers finally left. Now I can leave and go to the next job. Goodie.

With a sigh, the former Singer for the Electric Oreos hurried to the back of the store, grabbed her things, clocked out and then ran like hell. Besides her wallet, she had a shopping bag full of cute, lacy, li'l employee discounts that she could wear during the shoot. Least that way I won't have to worry about anythign inconvienient coming home with me, she thought wryly.

Lali raced tot he food court to get a drink and then began the mad dash to make it to the bus station. No more fancy cars for this dried up little songbird, she thought. And we can thank Dramawhore Demy for that one.

Stifling a growl, the former singer pushed the thougth from her mind. Demy Stardust was no longer her problem to worry about, over and for.

What a WEEK Demy thought to himself. He was just getting over screwing up at the bar, and then Spenceypoo waltzes back into his life...and you know, beats the -s**t- out of him. Even that couldn't keep Demy hiding away at the Rusty Nail for too long. Once it wasn't too painful to move again, the boy had slipped out and went out wandering.

He had to thank Spence bitterly for what he had done. At least maybe he wouldn't be recognized by the irate customers from Lou's. Grumbling as the bus reached the station, Demy yanked the hood of his jacked up and moved to step off.

Fidgeting in her impatience, Lali wasn't as the bus pulled up and the peopel began to unload.

"Come ON! C'monc'monc'mon!" she muttered. "I can't be late for thissss..."

She was whining to herself and she knew it. But right now? She simply didn't care. When it finally looked like the last person was off, she raced forward to board, only seeing a hodded figure when it was too late to stop her momentum With a crash, she hit the stranger, bags and wallet flying as she tried to regain her blanace, only to sprawl rather inelegantly on the curb beside the bus.

"Owww... Jeez, I'm sorry, you okay?"

The figure yelped and flailed, quickly falling over as he was slammed into. The hood fell down for a brief moment, but the boy was quick to pull it back over his head.
"What the hell?! Watch it you stupid bi---"
Demy started to mutter as he sat back up. Upon seeing the girl though, he quickly fell silent and merely stared at her out from under his hood.
"...Lali?..."

Jesus! First he runs into Spence, and now Lali?! Was Clash going to come flying out of the sky to beat him with drumsticks too?

Her ears flattened briefly when the stranger said her name. And then, she looked closer.

And felt her jaw drop in shock.

"Demy...?"

For a moment, she was ready to hurl the nearest heavy object to hand directly into his face. How DARE he get in her way. Wasn't it bad enough that his ego and smug asshattery had forced her to leave the only job she'd ever been happy in? Why did he have to show up now and make her late for this new job too?

Then, logic and common sense re-asserted themselves. It wasn't Demy's fault she'd smashed into him after all. A quick glance showed that her wallet, at least, was close and intact. Scooping that up, she struggled to stand, only then noticing the bag of employee discounts had decided to fly all over the damn place.

Oh, she was going to be getting some really odd looks.

Not to mention fired from yet another modeling job. Great.

He stared a moment longer before scrambling to his feet with a few whimpers and cringes. God damn Spence...

"Lali! Haven't seen you in months and---"
Just as he was wondering if he should be running in case this bandmate wanted to hurt him too, his gaze fell on the 'discounts' sprawled all over the place. Oh ho ho...was it his birthday or something? He simply couldn't help but -grin- at the sight.

"Geeze Lali, you wouldn't let me see this stuff when we were a band, now everyone gets to see it?"
The youth joked a bit, as he moved to throw the things back into the bag for his former singer. Yes, he was being helpful...but being helpful meant he got to touch lacy things!

Another wild surge of anger swept over the girl and died just as quickly when she saw Demy actually being -helpful-. With a sigh, she moved to help shift things back into the bag as quickly as possible.

"You're not exactly seeing them by my choice, sweets. I'd suggest offering thanks to whatever debased god you worship," she replied, trying hard to sound as chipper as possible. Because the second she relaxed her guard, she'd start crying.

Ears perking and swiveling, she caught the sound of the bus going on its merry way. There was no way in hell she was EVER going to be on time now. Tears pooled up in her eyes as she clutched at one of the many lacy things and wished, very briefly, that it was Demy's throat between her hands. Was he going to ruin everything she had going for her?

It was almost a shame Demy didn't realize how miserable he had made his old band. Still one would have to wonder if he'd care, or simply lock himself away with the knowledge his mere existence seemed to cause pain.

"I shall have to thank someone. It's probably the only chance I'll get to see them."
He sounded bitter, but it was likely his own fault he didn't get to see such things more often.

The youth didn't seem to notice as the bus drove off, and only looked back up when he had tossed the last of Lali's things back into her bag. He had to blink in surprise as he saw just how upset the other was getting.
"Geeze Lali...you don't have to get all choked up about seeing me again!"
Man...normally he'd throw his hood off and try to sneak in a kiss while the girl was so distracted. ....Normally he didn't have a black eye and other bruises to hide in the shadows his coat provided.

....But geeze, what was he doing passing up this opportunity? Leaving the hood up Demy tried to slide over and sneak a kiss from his singer.

Now THAT snapped her out of her well of self misery. Jerking back, she snarled and did something she'd long dreamed of doing. Pulling her arm back, she lashed out and delivered the hardest slap she could manage to Demy's face.

"You... you... CONCEITED jackass! You think I'm choked up over YOU? Grow the ******** up! Thanks to you somehow deciding to waltz back into my life, I just missed the bus!"

Seething, she stood with fists clenched by her sides, just glaring at him.

"That bus, I will venture to point out, was going to take me to a job. A job, let me point out, that I ******** needed so I could pay rent and not have to worry so much about bills..."

The fact that she hated these modeling jobs was not a fact she felt inclined to share.

Demy yiped loudly, jerking away from Lali as she b***h slapped him. The boy dropped his head, feeling what would surely become his next bruise carefully with a paw. The move had thrown off his hood, but it was only when he looked back up that it'd be known Lali was not the first to get revenge on him.

Demy's eyes were wide with shock and pain, the first signs of tears appearing as he realized that Lali too was not very impressed with seeing him again.
"I didn't make you miss the bus! YOU ran into ME. I was trying to help you so you could catch it...and it's not my damn fault you collided into me or that the bus drove off before you could get on it!"
Ears flat, the young 'leader' fidgeted nervously in front of Lali. It wasn't like him, but right now he was really wanting to just run off and hide from the furious female.

"I didn't KNOW you were taking it to get to a job, it's not like I purposefully got on that bus so you'd slam into me and stuff! Chill out!"

Oddly enough, it was the sight of bruises on his face that drained Lali's remaining anger. Looking faintly sickened to see the bruising, she reached forward very carefully, intending to only brush her fingertips against the colored flesh.

"Holy hell, babes... I knew you liked rough play, but this seems a little too extreme even for you."

If she was going to be honest with herself, she knew it wasn't Demy's fault she'd missed the bus. Really, it had been the snarky comment that had pushed her over the edge. A small taste of the Great Demy Stardust who'd finally driven her to quit rather than subject herself to it any longer. Thinking quickly and coming to a decision, she sighed and picked up the bag he'd so helpfully re-filled.

"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap," she began, eyeing him carefully. "Up on your feet, honey. You're coming home with me at least long enough for me to clean up some of that mess on your face. I'll fix you dinner too. Please? Consider it part of my apology?"

Truth to tell, it was nice to see him and know he was still alive, even if not exactly prospering.

Demy flinched, expecting another assault even as Lali merely brushed against his wounds.
"There was no play involved in this. You can thank Spence for being a jackass."
The boy grumbled, moodily yanking his hood back up over his head to conceal things once more. Damn that a*****e Spence, and damn Lali for just adding to his misery!

The leader eyed her warily. Really, mere seconds before she had been furious with him, and now she wanted to cook for him? It was suspicious at best, but he simply couldn't pass up a free meal...and alone time with the ever beautiful Lali. If only Spence knew about this! The waiter would be SOOOO jealous.

"I...erm...if you insist."
Hell he had missed her too. Not the slapping, but the beautiful company.

"Why did Spence do that to you? And how in the hell did you run into him?"

Honestly, given the things she'd heard through the grapevine after she'd walked, she hadn't thought that Spence would stick around this area.

Oh well. Not like it mattered in the long run. Mustering up an understanding smile for her former bandmate, Lali gently pressed him for information as she led him back towards the area of town the held her apartment.

"All right, so spill. Tell me what you've been up to these last several months. And while you're at it, tell me what sounds good for dinner. As long as you don't expect anythign super fancy, It hik I can manage most anything."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:17 am

"Because he's a jackass. And I was just trying to get some -food- and mister great guitarist was there...as a waiter, and decided it'd be a grand time to beat the hell out of me."
Sure, Spence had taken him home afterwards, and fed him Chinese...but he was still pretty annoyed over the beating.

Demy followed, tail dragging along behind. It was rather odd for him not to be bouncing around, tail wagging happily as he made some crack about wanting in someone's pants. His chosen path of dabbling in drugs and such was really starting to take a toll on the youth.
"Honestly? ...Eh.... Our manager didn't exactly want just a single guitarist, so I was thrown out after everyone left. Got a home though, and a job that'll give me some gigs...eventually."
You know, if he ever stopped choking when he had to play alone. That was something he needed to get used to -now-.

"Erm...can you make spaghetti? Pleaseeee?"
That sounded so good right about now.

"Oh, I think I can manage spaghetti for you," Lali replied cheerfully. "And probably some decent garlic bread and meatballs too if you like."

As they walked, she listened and watched carefully. This was not quite the Demy she remembered. If anything, he was more like a shadow of the Demy she knew. And as for Spence thrashing him, she rather suspected that Demy's mouth might have some at least some of the lightning down. Still. He was acting agreeable right now. No reason to disturb the balance just yet.

"So, what's being a solo artist like?" she inquired innocently. "I've always wondered, but I never had the guts to try it."
