Okay, so. During an interview at Jump Festa 2008, Kishimoto was asked if Jiraiya is really dead. The short answer appears to be, yes, he is. But Kishimoto was kind enough to elaborate on this turn in events:
Naruto has to be grown up. Shikamaru also needed to be grown up. And Sakura will have to be grown up, too.
Does... does this mean what I'm afraid it means?
And is it wrong that I sagged in relief to find out that Lee apparently doesn't need to do anymore growing up? Because I totally did.

If by "grown up" he meant giving Sakura mega-boobies like Tsunade? I think not. The only two gennins with a lot of boobs were Hinata and Temari.
or were you referring to the inevitable Team 7 becoming the new Sannin thing?
