Dragonball is one of the best anime's and it's pretty much gone now (kept alive by the games)
Naruto and Bleach are taking it's place.
Say ideas that could bring it back to it's peak popularity and exceed it.
and contend with the action animes of today.
ideas could be sequel series
repackaging
or anything else you can think of.

LOL, HAHAHAHAHA, I am nearly falling off my chair! DragonBall being replaced by NARUTO AND BLEACH!?! HAHAHAHAHA Look my friend, NO WAY DragonBall is gonna come back, why? Because it sucks! It was the best anime of that old times but compared to the animes of today its only trash. It doesnt have history, the enemies are without-sense one stronger than the previous one, they can die as many times as they want and be revived. Each character knew like what? 3 techniques at much? All their training only to increase their KI instead of developing techniques that could be more useful? What a waste. And many more details concerning to Dragonball being trash in this modern times, if you dont believe me see Anime News Network and seek DragonBall, you will see that its rank is like Good or below it. Now concerning the fact that Naruto and Bleach take over DragonBall place is a 100% lie, check out the news concerning Anime/Manga in Japan you shall discover that One Piece is like the NEW DragonBall in Japan. DragonBall was one of the first anime series released that revolutionated the graphics and animations of the animes, also the stories and the increasing amout of characters, but as I have said right now that serie is worth trash, sucks, there is no reason to see it anymore. One Piece has covered and surpassed DragonBall in each category and specifics becoming one of the best animes of all times with his particular increase of characters, different plots that are not found in any other anime, increasing number of techinques and better fights including even more comedy in the story than any other anime/manga. CONCLUSION: Naruto and Bleach taking the place of DragonBall is a 100% LIE. DragonBall sucks returning today it would be only mastered in DVD, which has been done and are today at sales.

Now, now. There is no need to get offensive. I would HIGHLY appriciate a more civil and constructive tone.
Now, for what I was going to actually say *ahem*....
i have given this some thought, and I believe that If Dragonball is to even attempt to achieve something resembling its former glory, it NEEDS new material. To this end, I have 2 proposals for spinoff series. I relize that I'm just talking out off my butt here, but please here me out.
DragonBall Next: I would like to see the stories of the future generations of the saiyan race. It has been proven that saiyan/human hybrids have the potential to become more powerful than the previous generation, yet knowledge of this potential can be lost through the ages. So that sets the stage for an entirly new series built on the DragonBall premise.
Dragoball Z: Hyper Dimension: A little backstory: Back during the Cell Saga, when Trunks went back to his time, he killed the androids. But can you tell me what he did not kill? BUU. At his current power and skill he could not stand a chance at even Babidi and his lackies, let alone Buu. So Trunks goes for help. In time. But thats where things feck up. His time machine gets damaged, causing him to got to different times and dimensions then what was programed, and from there the series would go on.
Oh, and in all three "action" anime that was named, there was not 1 planet blown up. Nooinch.

I didnt mean it in an offensive way.....do I really sounded like that?
If its true then sorry sweatdrop I didnt mean it...
EDIT: Well about the fact of trunks is pretty logical that we didnt see Trunks killing BUU or at least fighting him, because BUU needed a lot of energy to revive from his egg, Babidi and BUU could have left the planet after seeing that the humans were nearly extinct and because they were androids and their KI was based on computer and artificial management, I think, Babidi cant use that white vessel that his underlings use to get the KI of Gohan at the Tournament. At much they would have took the KI of Trunks but maybe he didnt found him because Trunks was at oher dimension with the Z Warriors fighting Cell.
Well thats from my point of view..

I didnt rush in Saying this <99% of finding it in AMC> XXX DRAGON BALL SUCKS GET OVER IT. NARUTO AND BLEACH ROCKS YOU ARE RIGHT WITH IT, BUT DBZ IS OVER. SEEK A LIFE. Its probably that you find one of these 3 sentences in AMC in a topic like this, or in the worst cases the 3 of them. Dont worry I respect their opinions I just want to be in discussions because they are so extinct here in GAIA......*sniff* I want the old GAIA back crying

*ahem* moving on...the the subject of this thread is Dragonball and ways it cal be improved/brought back, yes? Ok then.
I think that like it or not, there is a DBZ related property in the works, that might do moar harm than good. I refer to the Live action movie DragonBall. Its due to drop in August this year. gonk MetallicA help us.....

people remember there is a Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball Z!
Dragon Ball was good, some parts latter on was not so much, but it started strong! Dragon Ball Z had its moments, but got too......how should i say this????? Oh too BIG with everything!
Dragon Ball should make a comeback in some way aslong as histroy will not have to repeat itself, cause no one likes toXD.
if an anime EVER has a 10 episode long powerup i will kill myself!

Personally, I think Dragonball should make a comeback. To be more specific, the first series. I've always liked it more than Z and GT. It's more based on the actual legend, with the constant use of the Power Pole and the Nimbus.
Also, the characters have more personality, and there is more comedy. DBZ and GT was always the same thing. At least DB's adventures varied a little.
I miss little Krillin the most. And Chi Chi. They were adorable. X3

There's also Dragonball GT (which is the best of all) and a japanees resleas only Dragonball X (sposedly it's some 12 or so ep's about life after goku) And on top of that there's more movies than i have dared to count *runs of too wiki* (too lazy to count o___O) anyways some 20 give or take a couple. Soo theres more than u have seen..

DragonBall GT had only minimal involvement of Akira Toriyama the original creator. which is one of the reasons it wasn't as good.
and He was rushed into making Dragonball and DragonBall Z. While making it he was trying to make it like the Fans wanted.
HE was originally going to focus DBZ entirely on Gohan, but the fans wanted Goku so...
Good ideas so far,
Think about this.
The very last part that was shown was Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. fighting and Goku (now adult again) flying off.
before this they made a special called A Hero's Legacy which was a story about Goku Jr. They could continue from there.
and about the Trunks meeting Buu story.
The PSP game DragonBall Shin Budokai Another Road
has a story that explains about the Buu situation.
I didn't think it was that good.
because it was just re using old events. mostly.
otherwise keep the ideas coming.

That whole spending entire episodes to power up thing is actually because The creator did not have enough of the manga story completed to make into an anime.
the anime is based off the manga and without the manga they can't continue the story.
thus filler episodes were made.
Some are very good and give information developing the characters and such.
but most were just the ppl being lazy and resulting in the long power up grunt at each other episodes.
Read the Manga it's for the most part power up free.
but it skips things like Bardock...and Training sessions.
it feels like it's rushed when you watch the anime THEN read the Manga.
It's a double edged sword but if you really can't stand the power ups
then by all means do it.
(DBGT has no Manga btw)
