The battlefield randomizer spun and spun, faster and faster, as if it would never stop. After what seemed like ages, it finally slowed - just a little at first, then gradually to a crawl, and finally a stop.
The field of choice was.... the Forest Field!
Thick trees sprout at random places throughout the field, some small while others seem to reach out and touch the ceiling of the stadium. As with ancient trees, some roots are seen being thrust above the ground which makes easy for a pokemon to trip if they do not watch where they are going. Spacing between the trunks vary, making passage difficult for those on the ground and in the air. The ground is littered with piles of pine needles, leaves, and sticks of all sizes; several tree trunks and rotting logs can be found scattered around as well.

Sunnie walked into the stadium, observing her surroundings. There's a lot of things on the ground - I hope Glace can look out for himself... she thought. This will be pretty interesting... I'm all for taking a stroll through a forest, but battling in it?
She could not see if her opponent had arrived yet due to the sheer amount of trees blocking her view, so she called out. "Helloooo.... Are you here? Umm... we agreed to battle, and like... we should battle...." she began to blush as she fumbled for her pokeball, releasing Glace. I wonder if he knows what he's going up against - I don't think he's ever seen a water-type before...
Glace stretched out his legs, then looked up only to find trees, trees, and more trees. He strained his neck, looking up to the ceiling at them - they almost seemed as if they would never end. "Woahh... we never had forests like this up north..." He said with a gasp. "Woww... uhh... hey, where's my opponent?" He walked around a little bit, expecting to find an eevee or some other canine-like pokemon.

Lixue blinked at the forest. "Ugh....this is going to be difficult. Well Ai....let's hope your long range attacks are going to keep us going," she muttered then took out her ball and threw it to release Ai.
Ai shot out of the ball energized for another battle. She appeared not far from Glace through the trees and let out a loud bellow. Her tail slapped the ground aggressively.

Sunnie was a bit startled by the loud bellow from the dewgong. "Eep! That pokemon sounds tough! But umm, no matter, Glace can do it! Right Glace?"
Glace was still shaking after being taken completely off-guard by the yell. After hearing the voice of his trainer, he straightened up and put a more determined look on his face.
"There, that's more like it! Alright, Glace, how about a nice tackle?"
Tackle! Alright! Glace was still learning what he could do, but easily recognized this command. He began to run forward, darting through the trees, and lept at Ai with the full intent of taking her down.

Lixue had finally climbed through the trees and found Ai. "AH! There you are my lovely...." she was cut off by the start of the battle. "Gah...I hate this field....alright Ai! Dodge and Aurora Beam!"
Ai turned a dark glare onto Glace at that moment when he started his attack and suddenly moved out of his way. A spot of light appeared and then shot of him.

Glace growled a bit as he made contact with the ground, sending a flurry of leaves in the air. He turned around to see Ai charging up her Aurora Beam.
"Eep! Dodge, Glace, Dodge!" Sunnie shouted.
"Umm, huh?" Glace couldn't understand his owner's command. As he thought about it, Ai fired her beam. "Ahhh!!" Glace shouted as he saw it coming straight at him. He dashed under a hollowed out log, safe from the beam's rays.
Sunnie saw where the beam had hit - a large oak tree took the impact, and now sported a layer of thick ice. "That could have been nasty... Alright Glace, go tackle that dewgong down!"
Glace peeked out from within the log, eyeing the dewgong carefully. She glanced away for a moment, and Glace sprung from his hiding spot. He stumbled over a branch, but soon regained his balance, and was now charging straight towards Ai.

Lixue wanted to try something new with her newly evolved Ai. "Ai! Judgement call....." It wasn't an exact attack, but it gave Ai a chance to trust her own instincts when commanded to.
Ai turned her gaze back on the small canine like pokemon and suddenly puffed up so that when Glace smacked into her it was like hitting a wall and she took minimal damage from it.
Lixue suddenly called out. "Headbutt!"
Ai reared up and swung her head down horn first at Glace.

"Oh no, she means business!" Sunnie said. "Glace, dodge her!"
Glace tried to move fast enough, but unfortunately the dewgong outran him this time. He took the horn in the shoulder, giving him a nasty scratch.
"Aowww! Hey! That hurt!" Glace yelled at his opponent. "Fine! If that's how you wanna do it..."
Glace let out a low growl at Ai, putting ears down against his head and baring his teeth. He then jumped up in the air, fangs glistening in the stadium lights, as he aimed to bite down upon Ai's neck.

Lixue narrowed her eyes at that. Ai was going to take that in a bad way being a predator and a prey animal at the same time and being bitten..."Ai deal with him with takedown!"
Ai bellowed savagely having taken a nasty bite to the neck. But suddenly she turned over towards the ground putting her body into it and making sure Glace was between her and the ground in a takedown attack.

"Alright Glace, nice hit!" Sunnie shouted. "You're definitely getting some home-made poffins when we get home!"
Glace's ears perked up at that statement. Mmmm... food... He didn't have much time to think of that, though - he was soon crushed under Ai's weight.
"Uhhnnn... uhhh that hurt..." Glace mumbled, feeling a little light-headed from the blow.
"Eep! Umm that's okay, Glace! Just take her right back down!"
Glace pried the heavy dewgong off of him, and fiercely jumped up at her in an attempt to tackle her back.

Ai bellowed savagely again having found herself getting pinned by this smaller creature.
"It's ok Ai, your still doing swell! Try another close range attack!"
Ai twisted her head and went with another headbutt at Glace feeling very irritated at this point.

Glace wouldn't get hit by that dewgong a second time. He saw that she was closing in for a headbutt, and quickly darted out of the way. "Wheww, that was a close call..." he said, panting for breath.
Sunnie almost let out a squeal of delight after seeing how agile her Glace was. "Yeahyeahyeah! Go go Glace! Nowww, use Ice Fang!"
Glace knew exactly what to do - once again, he growled at the dewgong. This time, however, his breath became icy and easily seen as his teeth began taking on a blue hue. He barked savagely at Ai, revealing his icicle-like fangs, and sprinted towards her, intent on landing another hit.

Ai turned to look at where Glace was this time. She hated land fields because she felt like a fish out of water. She growled at him too and when he came at her she deflected most of the blow by lifting a fin and taking minor damage there instead of near her pretty face.
Lixue bit her lip and watched Glace move and saw how Ai was a bit stranded in this field. "Ice Beam!" she called.
Ai built up a nice Ice Beam, she need to get in a decent hit sometime and hopefully this would work. She let it loose.
