I liked it a lot, especially the part with the mech that had a nuclear reactor in it that was going critical and it wouldnt stop running off.

I thought the series was decent up to 20 and then the series was not worth finishing. It was nothing special honestly.

Another way for the catholicism to gain territory over the other religions, nothing special. High technology robots fighting with ray guns against the so-called Angels of God that were as big as an Eva.
I dont know why is Masterpiece, I dont see anything special in it.
Gurren Lagann is better than Evangelion by FAR.

I do like Evangelion. With all of it psychological issues through out the series.

I've only seen about four episodes, but I like it. Shinji's emoness bothers me though. It's like "QUIT BEING APATHETIC!" But it is an interesting show from what I've seen, I'd like to see more.
Though I can't seem to pronounce the name right. . .

I happen to like most of the series, but I haven't seen enough to form a real opinion, it seems to me the real appeal of the show was that it had such morid themes and the psychological aspects was something new for the mainstream American audience.
@thestarthatshines: Don't worry, all the characters get like that in the end, it's an extremely depressing series.
Although I am curious about the other series mentioned, would someone tell me about them? They sound very interesting.

To most casual mecha fans people think of it as a truly epic anime but mecha fans like me who have been versed in every true epic mecha can say it's nothing special but the fans just keep going on and on about it.

I think Evangelion is one of the best mecha series around. Not to get up the arses of any hardcore mecha lovers {I can already feel the flames approaching o__x;;} I just personally enjoyed Evangelion a lot. I love how it's got that whole 90's thing going on >.<

We're not here to argue over if it's truly great or whatever, this isn't another A/M/C. If you don't like the series, don't post - end of discussion.

I love how it's got that whole 90's thing going on >.< Hey don't worry no flaming from me. If you liked Eva you should try Runaway Space Ideon which a lot of ideas from Ideon are in Eva.
