Ayden grazed quietly, quite relaxed in the morning sun. He worked his way around a small circle, trimming the grass down to it's very roots with his pearly white teeth. He had been doing this since the first light of day broke across the starry sky, making sure not one blade was left in his path.

His eyelids grew heavy, and he began to droop into a blissful waking dream. He continued grazing, working in a circle... slowly drifting to new patches of fresh green grass... happy to just be alive.

His eyes sprung open: a taste that was not grass lay upon his pallet. He stuck out his tongue, wishing to inspect the greenish mash that lay upon it. His eyes crossed, but it was futile; he could not see passed his nose. He spit the mash onto the ground, and peered at the ground. His green skin paled slightly at the sight that met his eyes.

Small clover had sprung from beneath the canopy of grass, and he had been munching on clover... He was similar to a clover. He looked the same, he had the same markings... he'd been called Clover-Boy a few times... And he was lucky, just like them!

Did that mean he was a cannibal?!

Leaning up against the old tree, blue hide scraped back and forth as the muscular body of the lone soquili rocked back and forth.

"Ahhhh..... Mmmm...... niiiiiiiiice.... " Happy sounds bubbled from the blue-coated stallion as he scratched the very persistent itch on his shoulder. Pushing himself away from the tree, and leaving a speckling of trapped blue hairs behind on the back, he planted his hooves and shook violently, almost shaking himself off his feet in the process. Lifting his head he snorted lightly, feeling better for the scratching and cast his gaze around absently.

Something green.. large and green, caught his eye and he swung his head round to get a better look. It appeared to be another Soquili... a stallion at that. Curious, Cloud, upright mane bobbing, turned and trotted across the grassland, slowing down a goodly distance from the stranger.

Drawing to a halt still a fair way a ways, he lifted his muzzle, snorting softly to scent the strange stallion. He had no desire to get himself into a fight, though he was quite capable of handling himself if it came to that.. he would just rather avoid it.

Ayden looked up at the approaching figure, his eyes as wide as a startled doe's... and just as pleading.

His face seemed drawn, almost haggard, as though he had been through a recent emotionally straining event. Even the lustrous locks that fell from his neck in glistening curls, and the glistening immaculately groomed coat, did nothing to improve his appearance.

"Hello. It is a fine time to be out. Pleasure to meet you. Hope you've been good. I'm Ayden, who are you?" He skimmed over the pleasantries, deep voice booming out with barely constrained urgency, rather impatient to get to his question.

"Tell me. Does eating a clover make me a cannibal?" He stared at the other stallion, his eyes pleading. Ohhh, let the answer be no!

The sudden abruptness of the greeting made Cloud pause, head tilting slightly as he studied the other stallion inquiringly. The question was.. rather odd, and required a second look at the nervously stressed looking male in front of him. But eventually he caught sight of the clover-shaped mark on the other's chest and grinned. Recognising it as similar to his own.

Looking back up he chuckled softly, suddenly realising why the other was so worked up. "Of course not. You are Soquili like me." Striding forward, heavy feathers dusting the fresh green blades as he passed, the solid blue stallion drew closer to the upset green stranger.

"My name is Cloud Runner. Its a pleasure to meet you to Ayden."

Ayden let out a sigh of relief, his entire body shaking as the air passed out of his lungs. A bit of the color returned to his face, the haggard tiredness breaking upon the force of his smile much like the rainbow after a storm. He grinned sheepishly, peering up at the other stallion through a tuft of his mane.

"I... must not be the first to ask? Others may have seen the line between..." he coughed, shaking his great head and grinning again.

"Pleasure's all mine." He mumbled, perking up slightly and swishing his tail as though to clear away nonexistent flies.

Cloud was happy to see the other stallion regain some life. The green fella had looked rather ill and he really didn't want what could possibly be a new acquaintance to drop dead on him.

The bright smile brought one from Cloud himself in reply, ears pricking forwards to attention. Chuckling at the other soquili's stumbling words he walked closer, pausing only a stride away now. His own short tail held out slightly. "I have no doubt that those like us have though of that at one time or another. But personally I doubt there is too much of a connection. After all I can not make hearts rain from the thunder clouds.." He smiled, remembering a certain cute little mare he met in the snow.

Ayden quirked an inquiring brow, wondering why the stallion was speaking in riddles. Had he missed some part of a joke...?

Perhaps it was a reference to his own question?

His gaze wandered down the other's body, looking for some marking that could lead to a comment such as the one that had been made. When his eyes rested upon the other's chest, he understood: a stormy blue cloud, with the hearts two-leggers liked to use as symbols for the real thing raining down from it.

He grinned at that, gaze shooting back up to the other's steel-blue eyes. "Nor can I make clovers bloom in fields of snow."

Cloud couldn't help but chuckle at the reply, nodding his head in agreement, sending his spiky blue mane bouncing. "I figured as much. Seems a shame though, that could be a really useful ability. Where as mine.. well... that would just be plain creepy.." Grinning widely, steel blue eyes sparkling with amused playfulness.

He laughed, the sound echoing in the small pasture. "Yes, quite inconvenient indeed. How would you like to be traveling across the land and run into a pile of hearts upon the road? They must be slippery..." he wrinkled his nose in mock disgust, though his grin prevented him from looking all too upset.

He tilted his head to the side, swishing his tail once more. "Only if I could grow many clovers... it would save us from having to eat bark in the winter." He stuck out his tongue, which still had a slightly greenish tinge to it from all the grazing he had done.

Snorting he nodded his head, muzzle curled up in a wide grin. "Now that really would be nice! Green clover all year round. Though you would have to be careful to leave some grass or we would all get sick of it eventually." He lifted his head, musing for a moment. "Maybe grow it on the trees.. then it wouldn't get covered in snow.." Laughing he shook his head, tail lifting in a little flick, since its length prevented it from being much use as a fly swot.

"... on trees?" The thought had never occurred to him; clover, like grass, was something to cover the ground, not... "Ah, but that would be impossible! Unless my assumed ability were to be changed to growing clover on all substances, not just white.... as far as I know, bark is brown." He grinned, trotting over to a tree and staring at it. "Yep. Brown."

Cloud laughed as he nodded at the question. "On trees.." He confirmed as he watched the other stallion move over to the tree in question and stare at it.

Grinning Cloud stepped up next to the other and reached out with his muzzle, carefully nipping a bit of moss off the bark and lifting it to show the clover-hued male next to him. "But green does grow on brown." He chuckled.

Ayden's grinned remained upon his face, eyes sparkling like emeralds. "Ah, you've proved me wrong!" He looked at the moss in the others mouth. "That... can't taste very good... can it?" He sniffed at the moss, careful to avoid touching noses. He wasn't sure as the whether or not Cloud Runner had Personal Space Issues- like some others he had met.

Ayden needn't have worried. The blue stallion was far from sensative or protective about his personal space. Rather, the cloud-bearing male loved company and rubbing shoulders with new friends. He would have love rubbing shoulders with old friends too, if he had any.

Grinning he dropped the moss and licked his velvet nose as if clearing away the taste. "Its not great but it does fine when your in need." He replied, voice almost serious for a moment before another almost-goofy grin curled his lips. "Do you think there is one like us with moss as his 'power'?" Cloud asked playfully, enjoying his rather unusual but fun conversation with a possible new friend.

Ayden laughed, the deep sound booming out across the meadow. They had only been jesting when they had discussed powers that stemmed from the markings on their chests, and yet it seemed to be a lasting presence in their conversation.

"Ah, yes. But then, so are most things, when your need is dire..." He'd even eat a pinecone, if that was all there was. Oh, he wouldn't like it, but at least it would sustain him... right?

"I'm not sure." He brows furrowed, lips tilted downwards in a slight frown. He stared at Cloud's marking, nose close enough for his breath to be felt upon the other's chest. "Truth be told, you are the only one I have met who... has such a marking." He looked back up into the other's eyes. "... as well as the heart on the nose. Most others just have... vines, or stripes, or somewhat."
