((For timeline purposes, Livius is still a foal in this rp.))

Ayelet Hashachar she thought to herself, calling out to the morning star that shared her name. It held honor for her to share a name with the earliest star of the sky. It did nothing but add to her romance for the stars.

Ayelet lowered herself to the ground, and watched the morning sun rise to its home for yet another day. It never lost its mystic, its magic, its lure on the lands in which she stood.

She could almost feel the sun emerge from the lands. The sun was given a chance to hold its land briefly. A slow soft rise of colors enveloped the lands in a loving embrace. Winter had it's own piece in the play of colors. The white snow helped to reflect the colors back to the sun, a thank you for not melting it all away. As the sun pulled further from the horizon, it took the beautiful colors with it.

Taking a slow deep breath, Ayelet rose back to her legs. The brilliant display that she had just seen, carried around with her wherever she went. Not only in her mind, but on herself as well. The spirits had blessed her with a sunrise mimicked coat.

She missed the stars already, being snuffed out one by one, by the light of day. It meant it was time for a rest.

She moved towards a large bolder in the clear. It harbored a bit of shade, and could easily shelter her from the smaller winds.

The not so little foal had only just begun to wake. He was much older than most falls, both in body and mind. He was almost an adult, but hadn't quite made it there in size. As for his mind, being alone for most of his foal hood had forced him to grow up fast.

How did this colt go unnoticed for so long? He just thought it was the way it was meant to be. Every time he saw another adult, he did his best to avoid their path. This was because his first meeting with any soquili, had been an odd one. He had felt a connection with the one, but found out quickly his senses were wrong.

Winter hadn't made it's way to the land yet, but the lands were in full bloom with fruit and berries to harvest. The slate blue foal had found it easy to forage for himself then.

Now, the first snow had fallen. Things would slowly start to wither, and foraging would become more difficult in the months ahead.

He had settled down beside a rock, trying to stay warm through the night. He would wake soon, and return to his secluded way of life.

As she approached, the rock looked like any other rock. ...except for the purple fuzz. Ayelet had never seen a rock with purple fuzz on it..

Pulling closer, she considered that it could be some strange lichen that was growing on its surface. As she got closer, she realized it didn't look like fuzz at all! It was hair!

Sticking her colorful muzzle over the edge of the rock, her eyes found a large blue colt, with purple hair. The young soquili was fast asleep. She smiled softly, looking at how cute he was. Then it dawned on her. Where was its family?

Lifting her head up, she craned her neck from one side of the plains to the other. She looked for any sign of his parents, and couldn't see any. Had he been left behind? Or lost even?

She was very concerned. In an instant, she decided she would ask the foal. Stepping around the rock to the other side, she looked at him again. He looked so peaceful. With a deep breath, she decided she would wait for him to wake up.

Lowering herself to the ground, being sure to give the foal its distance, she waited for him to wake.

Livius was having a most peculiar dream. His imagination tended to run wild when he slept. He dreamt of an over sized ancient tree, that had a black hole in it's trunk. Inside the trunk, were baskets that seemed unopened. As he approached the baskets though, the hole got deeper, and the baskets pushed farther away.

Startled by the dream, Livius kicked awake in a fuss. It took him a brief second for him to realize that he wasn't alone. This didn't startle him as much. He just sat there, watching the adult mare. He figured it wouldn't take long for her to just get up and leave.

However, something told him this wasn't going to be how he had expected any other encounter with a soquili to be. She was incredibly close, and almost seemed as if she had been waiting on him.

The thought of this caused him to draw his chin in a line towards one side. Looking on with a side glance of peculiarity.

Ayelet stretched her neck towards the foal, then drew it back, tossing in her name as she did. "Hello there. My names Ayelet." It would be one of the only times she didn't introduce herself as Ayelet Hashachar. Her whole name didn't seem important with the young foal. She had a few questions to ask him, to find out his parents whereabouts, but paced herself. She didn't want to startle the fella.

The blue colt cocked his head to one side. He had asked the first soquili he ever saw, what his name was, only to be left alone. He was told to figure it out for himself. A silent still washed over the aged colt. He hung his head down slowly, letting his eyes fall to the ground.

"You do have a name....don't you?" she said as she tried to find his gaze again. She did this by lowering her head to his level. Her eyebrows were raised as she waited for him to look at her again.

The foal didn't look at her, but rather seemed to stare through the snow. His head moved in the motion of a quick no.

That said everything. Without the foal saying a word, his story was unfolding before her. He was alone, that was evident by his actions, and more, not even having a name. A warm motherly instinct came over Ayelet. She lifted her head up and smiled. "I know your name." Yes, she would give him a name of her own. No soquili should ever go without one.

His eyes snapped up as his chin lifted to look at her. "..really?" he said with a slight hesitance in his voice.

"Mhmm." she nodded happily. "It's Livius." Her tail swished to one side, sweeping the snow.

Livius. It seemed better than nothing he could ever come up with for himself.

A shake of contentment shivered through Ayelets body and out through a whip of her tail. It felt wonderful to indulge the foal with a name. Without even thinking twice about it, she felt she was willing to do anything for him. She waited patiently, watching him with a warm, caring eye. "Livius, I can take care of you." her words were kind and gentle.

Livius sat there, absorbing everything that was going on. He cocked his head up and looked at the expression on this strange mare. It was one he hadn't known, but wanted to. It felt right, and somehow a little late than it should of been. It wasn't too late though. His face warmed with a smile as he let her in. He let her soft words fill him with new hope. He suddenly felt his heart burst. After not having someone close, for his entire life, it was an overflow of emotion to finally have what he had been missing. He grinned sheepishly, tail flipping this way and that as he inched towards her. He tested with a few sliding moves, then rose up to his legs. He walked over and laid beside Ayelet. The burst in his heart was full of endless trust. Nestling beside her, he closed his eyes. He could barely breathe he was so happy.

Ayelet watched with a twinkle in her eye, as the foal accepted her. Words weren't needed from him. It was easy to see that he would let her be there for him, like no mare had been before. "There, there. Everything will be okay." She told him as she felt that she too might just burst.

The two of them laid together in harmony for the better part of the afternoon, keeping each other warm and content. Ayelet would teach him everything she knew, and Livius would look up to her as an angel, more than a mother.
