Demology or affliction?
PostPosted: Mon Jan 07, 2008 8:07 am

If your gear sucks and you like to afk kill things, Demonology is good after 60. Wait until 60 to specc into Felguard, however, as it sucks right away because it doesn't have all its spells.

For levelling and stuff like that, you should level with an Affliction specc, and learn how to drain tank when you get into your 40s and 50s (when you get Dark Pact). Level like this:

5/5 Improved Corruption
2/2 Improved Drain Soul
2/2 Soul Siphon
2/2 Improved Life Tap
5/5 Fel Concentration
2/2 Grim Reach
2/2 Nightfall
1/1 Siphon Life
3/3 Empowered Corruption
1/1 Amplify Curse
5/5 Shadow Mastery
1/1 Dark Pact
5/5 Contagion
2/2 Howl Of Terror
2/2 Improved Curse Of Agony
1/1 Unstable Affliction

Once you get Dark Pact you can start drain tanking. On a PvP server use a Felhunter or Succubus, use an imp in instances, use a Succubus when you need to Seduce humanoids while dealing with multiple mob groups. Your pet should have all autocasts turned off except Blood Pact, Paranoia, etc. Start by casting Immolate/Shadowbolt/Soul Fire, then cast Curse Of Agony, Corruption, and Siphon Life on the mob. Cast Drain Life 2-3 times on the mob while it's hitting you (you have a 70% to ignore interruption from it's attacks), and when it gets around 15% health, start Draining Soul. Spam Dark Pact on the way to the next mob.

When you get 60, if you wanna specc Felguard, you'll specc into something like this:

If you're going to continue with Affliction all the way to 70, you'll want to end up with something like this:

Raid speccs differ a lot from this, but Unstable Affliction is decent in pretty much everything and is great for those that don't have great gear and are trying to build some up. Felguard is good because you depend a lot more on your pet for DPS, and it does really well PvE wise, and does fairly well in PvP.

Destruction (0 points)
None

Meh. 42/19/0 is okay, I guess, but Shadowbolt is your main DPS spell in instances, so having it on a faster cast time is pretty important. I still think that if you wanna go Affliction, at least go up to Bane in Destruction.

Look for unfeltdeath on the US WoW armory. My spec is very versatile and goes well for pvp. pve. instances. and raiding. Also, imp is best mana battery, drain tank with him.

Im going to be going into raids with something like this:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IyMrdRfkktfosZxx0p

The basics of it are, I can get my DoTs off quickly, and immediatly go back to casting Shadow bolt I've only got a single point in improved Healthstone, as most put two, thus, if there is two warlocks, everyone can have two stones. as well, more Stamina with the imps blood pact to help out the group, as well as saving mana for me so i can use him as a battery.

What I have going for my warlock is a different spec, as I can keep up with most DPS in the raid and still have versatility by still being able to dot-kite things (like the pheonix in Magister's Terrace for the newest list of jobs to do). Keep in mind I am a huge affliction fan.

New Spec
but i like to keep fel intel ( more mana to draw on for dark pact) and demonic embrace (stam= more health= good)

Shouldn't need more health with a Good tank, or with your Voidwalker out, sure, some mobs dont get agro, such as Aran in Kara, but you should be able to cover up with stamina gear, anything over 9k HP for a Warlock is good enough.

YOUR SPEC IS BAD FOR EVERYTHING.

Your tank shouldn't be so bad that you need IMP Imp.

In a raid environment you never Drain Life, so no points in Soul Siphon KTHX

Assuming that you're the debuffer warlock, 5/5 in Shadow's Embrace is a requirement.

1/5 SHADOW MASTERY IS BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD.

You should be stacking spell hit, so you shouldn't need points in Suppression.

1% CRIT > SHADOWBURN IN A RAID ENVIRONMENT.

And if this is for PvP... you're bad beyond comprehension.

have you not raided a day in your life?

this build thus far has been amazing for me, though yes, for pvp, I shift 5 points over into Destruction so I can use ruin and Mass Kite everything, as I dont need my imp, nor my Healthstone in AV.
