Story Arcs OFFICIAL STORY ARCS ONLY - NO USER CREATED POST ALLOWEDAs with any major guild like this, or any Star Trek show, there are often plot arcs. Voyager had the Caretaker Arc. Deep Space Nine had the Dominion War. The Next Generation had Worf's Honor and Family, Data's brother, and of course the first Borg arcs. Basically, this thread will detail any major actions made in the storyline. Right now, they will all be Mod-Created, until we get more users that is! After a while, there may be enough users in enough force to actually effect the ebb and flow of plot developments, but for right now, its mainly Mod-Based. This thread will keep everyone up to date on the major plot developments. So, make sure to check it whenever you see something new has popped up!

Quote: Romulan Annexation of Beta CestusCommander V'Renek of the Romulan Star Empire has laid claim to the entire Beta Cestus System as the newest Romulan Territory in the Beta Quadrant, much to the dismay of the local occupants. A fierce battle broke out between the USS Ragnarok and the Romulan battlefleet while the Nova Class USS Millennium raced to the surface to rescue the colonists that wished to leave and escape the tyranny that the Romulans would no doubt visit on them. After sustaining heavy damage, the Ragnarok soon left the system with the Millennium in tow. It is yet unknown how these events will effect the inhabitants of the Beta Cestus III colony, or how these events will effect the development of the Beta Quadrant. Only time will tell. But one thing is for certain, the Romulans are back, and as strong as ever...

Quote: Borg Activity and the Blunder of Sector C-13While out on a routine scouting and exploration mission in an uncharted sector only about 30 lightyears away from the hub of Deep Space 12, the USS Fullmetal detected Borg activity on the surface of a planet. The Captain of the ship, Max Hawkeye, made no apparent effort to determine the reason for the Collective's presence on the surface, and instead of seeking a non-violent solution to the issue at hand, blatantly ignored Starfleet General Order 8 and used lethal force to attempt to destroy the lives of the drones on the surface. However, a single drone survived the vessel's attack and was able to deliver a message before it shut down... Quote: Encrypt Message using algorithm Pi Beta Nine...
Federation activity detected in Spatial Grid Alpha 176059...
Operations in Spatial Grid...terminated... With the sending of this message, the Borg Collective is now aware of the Federation Presence in the Beta Quadrant. It is uncertain how this will effect future events. But one thing is certain, the Borg are an enemy no one wants to face...

Quote: Romulan Tensions of Beta CestusAfter several months, the Romulan territory of Beta Cestus came to a head when trading with the system was stopped, and a ship attacked that was carrying contraband cargo in her hold. What followed was a massive influx of ships that came to assist the Federation ship, including the USS Voyager, which was on its way out of the Beta Quadrant when it received the distress call. After several blows were traded, the Romulans issued an ultimatum that ended the battle. With the Federation now aware of the hostile environment on the surface of Beta Cestus II, and the resistance movement there, this battle may very well have been a deciding factor in the ultimate fate of the system.

Quote: Klingons and the Typhus Debris FieldThe Klingons, trying to gain a foothold in the Beta Quadrant, attempted to gain control of the Typhus Debris Field to turn it into a memorial for their fallen warriors. However, the Beta Cestian Rebels destroyed the first ship, losing the coordinates, and causing a stir of patriotism within the Klingon Empire. The High Council has sworn revenge on their enemies, and vow to find the field once again, no matter the cost. The Rebels would leave the system and continue on their way, unaware of the Klingon Empire's new resolve. How will this effect the ballance of power in the quadrant? Only time will tell...

Quote: Arian System and the Arian WormholeWhile on a routine exploration mission of the Arian System, the USS Endeavor made an exciting discovery. Upon doing routine scans, the vessel discovered a wormhole in the Arian System. Unrefined scans showed little solid data, however the wormhole covers a distance farther than any Federation ship has ever reached in over 200 years of Space Exploration, except perhaps the USS Enterprise NCC - 1701 - D. The wormhole reaches over 200,000 light years to the Small Magellanic Cloud, one of the Milky Way Galaxy's closest neighbors. Initial scans showed a few small planets, some populated. News of the discovery has Starfleet Command buzzing with talk of a scientific expedition, and the Federation Council is inundated with scientific requests from some of the most brilliant scientists in the entire Federation who are looking for a seat. While the plans are still in their infancy, this is a major development...

Quote: Closing the Arian Wormhole and the Borg IncursionWhen a science vessel was sent to study the Arian Wormhole in more detail, what they found was the last thing they could have expected. Not one, but two Borg Spheres exited the wormhole and quickly attacked the ship. Immediately, an Emergency Call went out to all ships in the quadrant for immediate assistance. After a mighty conflict, the Borg Vessels were destroyed much in part to the valiant efforts of the ships that came to assist. After more detailed analysis of the scans taken by the science ship, it was determined that the Borg vessels had not damaged the planets on the other side of the vortex, and to continue to protect them, the Federation Council ordered the wormhole be closed to prevent the Borg from assimilating any species native to the Small Magellanic Cloud. While Starfleet lost an impressive scientific opportunity, the decision to close the wormhole has been considered the best possible course of action that could have been taken given the situation. Since the closing of the Arian Wormhole, no further Borg activity has been reported in the quadrant. One can only hope it continues...

Quote: Reopening of the Arian Wormhole, and the Emergence of the Scythian EmpireIgnoring that the Arian Wormhole was to remain closed, the USS Endeavor and her captain forced open the wormhole once more and passed through to the other side, much to the dismay of the Federation Council and Starfleet Command. While in the Small Magellanic Cloud, the Endeavor made contact with the Scythian Empire, and was outfitted with their technology as a sign of good faith. The USS Ticonderoga, under the command of Captain William Rhodes, was sent to investigate the Arian Wormhole once more after signs of its recent reopening were discovered. Only after some time did the Endeavor return through the wormhole, bringing the flagship of the Scythian Empire, the ISS Rostov-Na-Donu, through the rift to meet with the Federation. A historic First Contact had been made. After a brief meeting at Deep Space 12, the Scythians were welcomed to the galaxy, and set out to claim a system of their own to begin exploration. Meanwhile, the Captain of the Endeavor was reprimanded by Starfleet Command for his blatant disregard for orders. However, as William Rhodes was noted to have said, "Admiral James T. Kirk would have been proud." The Transwarp and Quantum Slipstream technologies removed from the augmented USS Endeavor were taken directly to the heart of Deep Space 12 where they were soon picked up by the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, headed by Captain Montgomery Scott, and taken back to the Alpha Quadrant for study in a more secure location. News of what is going on on the project is very classified, only a select few captains know its details, one of which being captain of the USS Ragnarok, Ryugi Kazamaru, as his vessel was the initial testbed for a full scale Quantum Slipstream Drive. While he doesn't speak much on the subject, it is believed that the testing is going well. Exactly what this means for the Beta Quadrant Exploration Initiative and the other races involved is quite unclear at the current time... Colonization of various systems in the Beta Quadrant has begun, creating new colonies ripe for people looking to begin again from all across the Alpha Quadrant. However, with this new expansion, what new challenges will await in the future? Only time would tell...

Quote: Colonization and Determination in the Beta QuadrantAfter much planning and scouting the slow but steady colonization of new systems has begun within the Beta Quadrant Exploration Initiative. While most of the available systems have been claimed by Federation settlers, one has been claimed by the Scythian Empire as their foothold in the Beta Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy. While most colonize to begin new lives, others colonize in an attempt to regain the lives they lost. The Beta Cestus Liberation Front has claimed a system for itself and established two mining facilities for income in order to supplement the costs of running a Rebellion against the Romulan Occupation Forces. In their continuing war against the Romulans, the Rebels attacked, and managed to overtake, an official Romulan vessel, only to be captured and stopped by the Lubato and Commander V'Renek. V'Renek plans to interrogate the captured Rebels for information. How the Beta Cestus Liberation Front will react to this sudden, and possibly tragic, series of events is yet to be seen. With the Ragnarok on the way to try and render aid, and the Lubato ready to head out, it seems as though the Quadrant teeters on the brink of armed conflict between the Romulans Occupation Forces and the Federation Command Ship. Only time knows the outcome, and what it may spell for the future of the Beta Quadrant...

Quote: Prisoners, Particles, and Prototypes...The Lubato managed to elude the tracking skills of the Ragnarok and her crew, and make its way to Penal Colony Omega, all the while interrogating the Rebels. However, despite their best attempts, the Rebels held strong, and Commander V'renek gained no new information regarding the Rebel threat. However, an even bigger upset came to follow as the Rebel prisoners were snatched away by Jacob Denning and the captured Federation Arrowhead Runabout. After a brief moment of mistrust, Jacob and the Rebels parted ways, both dissapearing into the blackness of space. When strange readings were detected in the vicinity of the Binary Pulsar, Starfleet sent a small fleet of Nova Class vessels to investigate. What they found was a stabilized Omega Molecule powering a Romulan prototype warbird. In the ensuing battle, the USS Event Horizon was lost, and the other vessels managed to limp back to Deep Space 12 where they were met with sorrows and regrets. However, the sorrow was shortlived as the USS Remembrance was refit and brought into duty to replace the lost Event Horizon, and the other surviving vessels were outfitted to Rhode Island variants. Together with the Ragnarok, the battlefleet attacked the prototype vessel and destroyed it while staving off damage from the Lubato. With these new advances in technology made by the Romulans, one has to wonder what they are planning within the confines of Beta Cestus and the F'vau system behind closed doors. And what of the Klingons? Only the future knows what's in store in the New Frontier...

Quote: New Beginnings, New Arrivals, New Territories...After over a year of being held by the Romulan Star Empire, the planet of Beta Cestus III has finally been returned to its colonists which have called themselves the Cestian Alliance. The Romulans have relocated their mining efforts to a station being built in the resource rich asteroid belt. Even as these tensions pass, the Klingons have finally made their way into the quadrant and have settled on the planet of Terra Nova. And with their settlement, other new planets and systems have been found, bringing a new wave of exploration to the New Frontier...

Quote: War and PeaceAfter their arrival in the territory for the BQEI, the Klingons sent their command ship, the IKS Don'chu, under command of General Koroth, to Beta Cestus III in order to exact revenge for the destruction of their vessel in the Debris Field. They opened fire on the newly formed Cestian Alliance's vessel, the CATV Silver Dawn. The Defiant Class vessel turned tail and jumped to warp with the massive Negh'var in hot pursuit. After a week at high warp, and after battling the Don'chu the entire way, the Silver Dawn arrived at the Dunari System, where the real battle began. After taking several solid hits from the Don'chu, even after using asteroids to evade most of the damage, Captain Kelvinar Jitsun ordered a ramming attack against the Klingon vessel. At the last moment, the Alliance captain impressed the Klingons with his resolve and in a twist of fate, the Cestian Alliance gained a powerful ally in the Beta Quadrant. Soon after, dozens of starships began to arrive at Beta Cestus III, all bringing words of assistance and supprt. Even as the Cestian Alliance gets help from others, they also lend their firepower to other struggles. Two Borg spheres arrived in the Obsidian System and began to attack the mining facilities there. The 43rd Fleet was away, but the USS Fenri charged into battle valiantly to defend its home system. Just when things looked bleak, the USS Mythic arried and unloaded a massive volley from her torpedo tubes, severely crippling and destroying the sphere, even as the Cestian Alliance arrived to lend a hand. With the combined efforts of the Cestian Alliance and the 43rd Fleet, the Borg Vessels fell, but not before severely crippling the USS Mythic, and dropping the morale of Captain Toko Akumu with the death of his First Officer. With his ship and his morale heavily damaged, Captain Akumu has taken an extended leave of absense, to what ends are currently unknown. While peace and cooperation expand throughout the quadrant, the Romulans continue to make attempts to ascertain the state of the Cestian Alliance, and determine the locations of their resource centers. As of now the reasons for their behavior is unknown, but one thing is crystal clear. With so many different factions involved in so many alliances, the Quadrant teeters on the brink of conflict. But how large remains to be seen...

Quote: Shadows Hunting ShadowsNoticing the rapidly militarizing Cestian Alliance, the Romulan Occupational Forces under the command of the IRW Lubato and her fearsome captain, Commander V'Renek, chose to act. Violating the Beta Cestus Treaty of Stardate 63220.9, Commander V'Renek sent a Romulan spy to infiltrate the Cestian Alliance Starbase "Essence", which oversaw nearly all Cestian activity within the Beta Cestus system and some outside, thus making it a prime target for information reconnaissance. Under the guise of a Klingon investigator beamed over from the Klingon vessel, the IKS Bor'tas, the spy infiltrated the station and weaved her way through Alliance personnel and Security, gathering information in her wake. Alliance protocols held strong and prevented her from gaining access to more sensitive information such as ship movements and Alliance activities in the Quadrant. But when she found a communications terminal and dispatched her escort, that's when things turned interesting. For the past several months, the Romulan Occupational Forces had sent several of their warbirds into the Dunarii system, investigating a strange tachyon signature that they suspecting to be financing the Alliance's growing military effort. To date, their attempts had proven less than pleasing. While they were confident of the presence of some sort of Alliance activity, how large, where it was, and for what purpose, still remained hidden behind failed sensor scans and layers of rock. However, with the Romulan spy aboard the Starbase "Essence", the Romulans had finally gleamed the information they needed from a hacked terminal: An Alliance mining operation based within the massive belts of the Dunarii system. With her information gathered and sent to the IWS Lubato, infiltrator turned saboteur by expanding the boundaries of her orders and attempted to rupture EPS Conduits around the starbase's power core, which would have ensured the station's complete destruction, if it had succeeded. Fortunately for the Alliance, Internal Security proved the better and the spy was captured and returned to the Romulans, with a warning to the Romulan Occupational Forces: If they transgressed again, there would be war.
