Tonks always loved winter -- the way she could see her breath, how beautiful the snow made the trees look, the peaceful, muffled quiet, and the way fresh snow crunched under her bright hooves. It made her feel serene and relaxed. There was one thing that came with winter, however, that was the bane of her existence -- ice. She was certainly clumsy enough without it, and she glared uselessly at the patch she had almost slipped on, that had nearly sent her sprawling down into the snow. Somehow, by some miracle, she managed to remain on her hooves, but it was a close one.
Satisfied that the ice was put in it's place, the brightly colored unicorn continued on her way (albeit at a slightly slower pace this time). She had a particular destination in mind, although she wasn't quite sure where it was -- the mare had found a stream nearby here, not completely frozen by the winter chill, and she was thirsty. Unwilling to return to the warmth her home offered quite yet, she had decided to seek out this stream again for water instead. Of course, the only problem was finding it. She had to be close, didn't she? After finding that patch of ice (nevermind that it was completely by accident, but that wasn't the point), she was sure that she was close. Determined, she tried to listen to see if she could hear the sound of the running steam, ears flicking this way and that. It was nearly turning into a game, instead of just a quest for water. There were easier places to find, but she didn't want to give up now.

A stallion half resembling the snow, half resembling the night sky was plodding and prancing playfully through the Winter wonderland. Starseeker was of coarse, singing at the top of his lungs, wrapped up with himself and swishing his tail to his own beat. Literally the stallion hip-hopping his way across the fields. Naive and innocent, little did know he was moments away from disaster. Well, as nature's law states, what can go wrong, will go wrong... and it just did.
Starseeker had just stopped to strike a pose at his song's chorus' climax, when he accidentally decided to do so on the very patch of ice that the colorful mare before him had trouble with. This sent Starseeker skidding out of controll, right towards someone nearing his distance rather quickly. Hitting a high note he yelped at the pink tailed behind of what he had nearly seconds to make out as as clothed mare of some sort, "LOOK OUT MISS!"

Concentrating and expecting the sound of water, Tonks was surprised to hear singing instead. She blinked, pausing, and her ears flicked in the direction she heard the singing coming from (it was hard to pin down, at first). A high pitched yelp and a shout of warning later, Tonks started to turn around to see who was making so much noise.
Violet eyes widening in shock, the normally swift when confronted with danger mare froze in place. She hadn't expected to run into anyone, let alone be run into -- literally -- and she reacted too slowly, too late. She tried to get out of the way, but only managed to save herself from getting knocked muzzle first into the snow. The strange stallion hit her side as he slid and she toppled right over with a startled beginning of a sentence ("What the bloody HE--"); so much for all her efforts to stay standing just moments before.
Now on the ground and covered in snow (and it was COLD!), she lifted her head and tried to roll over to lay on her stomach, legs tucked underneath her, and looked around for the offender that had knocked her over. She shook her head, sending snow flying from her short, pink mane and blinked her eyes in attempt to clear her vision. "Ohh... well that smarted just a bit, yeah?" she winced, feeling sore from the fall.

"OhmygoshIamsosorrymiss!" Starseeker blurted out, "Forgive me forgive me!" He pleaded as he offered to help the pink-haired mare with the horn up. It wasn't until his mind was a little more clear did he notice she had an accent and seemed to speak a little differently than others. Deciding it not the appropriate time to say anything or question it, he continued his humble and sincere appologies.
"What might I be able to do to make it up to you?" he asked purely.

With help, Tonks got back to her hooves, nearly laughing at the stallion's quickly spoken apology. A chill ran through her body and she shivered a little, squeezing her eyes shut one final time and then peering at the stallian who had run into her. She offered him a sympathetic smile. "It's alrigh', I've been in your situation plenty of times before. Clumsy as all, that's me."
She didn't feel hurt, although she guessed she might develop a small bruise, but nothing serious. The mare looked to the unnamed stallion and said, "you don't 'ave to make it up to me. Are you alrigh', though? No' hurt or anythin', are you?" She couldn't bring herself to be angry -- the situation was more funny than anything.

"Me, hurt? No miss, but thank you for your concern!" Starseeker replied, giving an enthusiastic nod. "Just hope you don't bruise" he finished in a rather ironic way. He paused a moment and remembered how his father taught him how to give proper introductions. No gentleman was a gentleman without proper introductions. With that Starseeker smiled, "Allow me to introduce myself, as I'm the faulted clumsy one here" he laughed, "My name is Starseeker, allotted rockstar and ladies' fan."
He daftly didn't figure saying 'ladies fan' could make him sound like a womanizer or perhapse flirt or pervert, he only knew it how he meant it; literally being a fan other other peoples, expecially females---who in his book, and his father's, deserved the most respect and support. "Might I know who you are?"

"Oh, it's alrigh'; I'm a tough girl, I can handle a little bruising," Tonks replied to him with a wink -- Starseeker, as he so introduced himself -- and the mare would have rolled her eyes at him for claiming to be a 'ladies fan', but the word 'rockstar' caught her interest. There was no doubt that Tonks was a fan of music, even though she wasn't much of a singer herself. She certainly loved to hear it, though.
"Rockstar, are you? That's brilliant!" she said enthusiastically, nearly forgetting that he had asked her name, suddently realizing. "Oh -- and my name's Nymphadora Tonks. Please, just call me Tonks, though." She really should just stop giving out her first name altogether, if she didn't want people to call her by it, but it was sort of a habit. Besides, they eventually found out sooner or later -- better to get it out of the way now. "So that must 'ave been you I 'eard singing?"

"Lovely name!" he replied honestly, however he was quick to notice she didn't seem to keen on it. Changing the subject to that of his singing, he gave a nod. "Was indeed miss---er forgive me, Tonks" he corrected quickly. "And brilliant eh?" he chuckled, "I'll take that's a compliment?" he smiled. "Hope it wasn't unpleasant to the ears" he added with another short laugh.

While she appreciated the compliment on her name, her smile was half-hearted. She couldn't help thinking her name was just silly. Who named their foal Nymphadora, of all things? Well, she decided to herself, it could always be worse. The mare grinned and nodded to his question. "Yes, sorry -- I mean, it's great! I really love music. I guess you could say I'm a fan, really. And I'm afraid I didn't hear much before you slid into me because of the ice... but I'm sure it was jus' lovely," she chuckled.

"Oh well, that would be a legit reason to have not heard anything. Not like I was on occassion to impress either" he added with another laugh. "Say, if you don't mind my asking...what were you up too before I...you know...accidentally obscured whatever that was with my clumseyness" Starseeker asked. "Perhapse I could help you with your doings to make up for it all?" he added, so as he wouldn't come off as being purely nosey or something. He pawed the snow for a moment and smiled, "You know, if you're a music fan...I could always, y'know, give you a private concert sorta thing. Eventually, that is...when you'd like it or when it'd be appropriate!"

The mare couldn't tell whether she ought to be flattered or just amused, and found herself conflicted between the two. His honesty made her believe that it was just that -- the blunt truth. She'd been wrong before, but it was refreshing to think that he wasn't being sarcastic with his words. Tonks couldn't keep the smile away from her muzzle as the strange stallion suddenly seemed shy.
With a laugh, she admitted, "I wasn't really doing anythin' impor'ant. Jus' the other day I saw a stream somewhere about here, and it wasn't completely frozen over. I was listenin' for the sound of a stream to find it when I heard you..." she trailed off as she spoke, and looked pleased with his offer. "A private concert, jus' for me? Yeah, I'd love tha'!"

"A stream, huh?" Starseeker echoed her words in though, "Can't say I'm too familiar with this area, so I wouldn't know where it is." So as not to allow the mare to give up hope he gave a dazzling smiled, "But two heads...and ears, noses, ect are better than one in finding something, right?" he added chipperly. Of coarse the stallion wasn't about to let her go it alone so to speak.
Remebering her last comment about the concert he practically glowed. "Really? You'd like that? I'd be honored! But 1st we should quench your thirst!" he replied in a gentlemanly way.

"Well, of course! It's not every day someone offers to give me a personal concert now, is it?" The unicorn mare giggled, and with a playful shoulder-to-shoulder nudge, Tonks pranced a few paces forward, looking back at Starseeker for him to follow. She smiled at him and flicked her tail, sending a small dusting off snow off of it to the ground. "Let's go look, then. I think it was 'round the trees 'ere somewhere..." She turned her head to look forward again, making her way toward the treeline.

Starseeker chuckled at the nudge. He, of coarse, returned the playful bout of fun, carefully enough though so as not to knock her over or anything. (Even though to him that seemed quite unlikely since she seemed like one of those strong-in-ever-aspect girls.) After tossing a braid that'd feel in his face from the nudging, Starseeker followed her towards the tree. "Slippery ice is less likely to be around foliage" he added, "so if we stick towards trees and whatnot anyways, I'm sure we'll find the water without anymore collisions."
