I've seen this one before, so funny xD
and about the show having a alternative, comedic version, I'll say no because death note is a deep anime, not a funny one lol xD

Mello's a LOOOOSSSSEERR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but in my opinion, Death Note got kinda weak after the first half of the series. They kill of L and replace him with Near and Mello? And they have L go down in such a cheap-a** way? And the time-leap brings up too many questions. Death Note started to get weak after L's death. Even so, it's a good anime. I just wish they kept Nightmare's songs for their themes instead of switching to the death metal.

I wonder, did you just like L too much? xd But really, Mello and Near are just, for the most part, L, his personality split into two beings, as i see it. Near is cold and calculative, while Mello is emotional, and thus, L lives on.

A person can't live on through his split personalities. Near and Mello were not L. It's not individual traits that made L badass and funny, it was ALL of them together. Near didn't get the insomnia down right, and he associated with the wrong side. And Mello was, in general, an a*****e. Screw N and M.
